Question for people who mainly play survivor.
Do you guys hate playing against trickster? He seems like a very polarizing character among the community.

He's not bad to play against, he's not that great so usually ends out camping which isn't fun. I tend to find his sounds/music annoying more than anything else.

Hey I'm a survivor main
I think he is fine. He is annoying and it mainly depends on the map if I do well against him or not but I think he is fine.

For me he just isn't super fun to go against and other than his chase music being kind of annoying to me I honestly don't really know why tbh. Maybe it's the way his trench coat blows in the wind like he's superman when he runs.

Trickster is one of my favorites to go against

Hes like Plague that able to increase your infected bar after injured. Its just a slow guarantee down.
In maps like Autoheaven where obstacles loop are below waist height. Makes map a complete dead zone

Not a survivor main but I hate playing as and against him. I have a proposed change for him though that could make him stronger in the 4v1 and less oppressive in the 1v1.

Trickster is very very easy to go against on maps with the classic killer shack.
You loop on the outside for ages (even longer if he draws his knives at any point) then once he gets about eight feet from you start taking the window until the Entity blocks it, then if he's STILL on you drop the pallet and do it again. It's when he catches you in the open that he starts causing you trouble (assuming he can aim). As soon as you see him just hug walls. Hug walls and take advantage of his slow run speed by holding W.
Most of the time I go down it's because I'm skulking around stage props to hide my survivor and the Trickster will find me and hit me with the bat, then start tossing knives while I'm out of position and that's my fault when it happens.

Annoying to play as and annoying to play against. Pretty balanced

I'm fine with him. Knives are finite, and he moves at 110%. Main Event is also clunky to use and can be defeated with one good window.
I would say he is fair.

I prefer Huntress, but overall I like facing Trickster.

I hate him because of how easy he is to play while being able to down you at any loop that doesn't have high walls. Like huntress can down you too, even faster, but she gets punished if she misses or if she pulls out hatchet at the wrong time, while trickster just machine guns you. No aim, no skill needed. Truly the Freddy of ranged killers

There's nothing I hate more than Trickster

It honestly depends on the Trickster. Some shred me and I feel like there is not much I can do. Others are basically playing Huntress without the ability to take a damage state at range. It is a coin flip once the game loads in.
Generally speaking, any killer that is known to camp or tunnel is not one I particularly enjoy playing against for obvious reasons and he is on that list.

I’m interested in seeing your proposal on that, since I think the reason he can be so annoying and not great at the same time is him being oppressive in 1v1 but not good in a 4v1

Pretty much a survivor main. Trickster is the most annoying killer in the game. Essentially huntress but without any of the fun parts

The problem is that most survivors start complaining about 4v1(nurse,Blight,pre-nerf spirt, the box) the biggest problem with that is if the killer doesn't have a 4v1 then they need to be able to get downs fast which survivors also don't like because they want want chases to last forever.

Buff: Laceration meter doesn’t passively go down and survivors have to complete skill check actions to remove the knives. This will cut gen time but it can be risky to keep the knives in to spend time on gens.
Nerf: It takes 8 knives again to damage. 6 is too little and makes his 1v1 way too oppressive.
Buff: You can use Main Event whenever you want after it activates.
I don’t think he’d be more fun to face but he’ll certainly be stronger while not being as bad to face before. I would like the risk factor of leaving knives in you as it creates map pressure.

He's alright if your in a team or with good randoms.
The only thing I dislike about him is that he can camp quite easily.

He's not that bad

No, I only dislike vsing twins. People should play whatever killer they like tho.

I hate his music, it’s so jarring and annoying. Otherwise, he’s like any other killer. Just hide in a bush until he leaves and go back to the gen.

lets nerf tricker. Survivors have no chance to win such games

Depends on the map and the player. Trickster's biggest problem is he does not belong in DBD. It feels like the movie/novel Ready Player One where a character from another game wandered in.

He's extremely weak and not particularly engaging in large part due to how weak he is. A ranged killer with no long range lethality, worse medium range lethality than Huntress/Deathslinger, and completely map dependent short range lethality.
Just doesn't have anything going for him unless the survivor is out in the open or at a tile he can throw over. They usually end up trying to camp because he isn't good at anything else. Needs a rework.
