Killer Mains, I Appreciate you <3
Hii everyone, I'm new to this whole forum thing so please treat me nicely! :D
I came here today to tell all of you killer mains out there that I appreciate you very much.
I usually main survivor only because it's always stressful to play killer even though I really really want to so I congratulate any of you that continue to still do so.
Today, I felt like playing pinhead for some reason so I did. I didn't run any meta perks because I'm here to have fun, not sweat. You can tell how that game probably went, but if not, gens basically popped everywhere even with pressure applied. Anyways, I'm not here to complain about that because frankly I expected it and don't really mind. What I want to point out is the toxicity I'm observing as killer from survivors.
I got absolutely DEMOLISHED by the survivors in the endgame chat and it was because I got ONE kill on their friend and I don't see why it's that serious when I did not tunnel/ proxy camp until endgame seeing as there was nothing else for me to do at that point when they were all hovering around. It's cool though, just get into another match and continue on.
Now survivors, I know there are killers that may do the same thing, it's not just one sided. From now on, I think everyone should play their part and have a positive mindset! It's not just what the Devs do, but the community plays a huge part in the health of this game too. :D
Oh yeah, I hope everyone is having a very amazing and wonderful day today! <3

Hate to say this but people wont care. I do appreciate that you are nice and there are many other people on the forums who are nice but some people just doesn't care

No matter what you do, you will be hated as killer.

Aww, thank you.

Well arent you just a ray of sunshine?

Great post. I'm actually frustrated playing survivor today. I play them both half and half. I agree with you. Playing both sides is the best way to play. Being biased towards any one side is no good.
5 -
Oh yeah, the hate is real. Doesn't matter if you piss them off bc you outplay them, or if they stomp you into the dirt. Either way you get trash at the end game chat.
It's a lose lose for killers man. But mostly with swf groups. When u kill one of them they gang up on you I noticed. Win or lose against them it's mob punishment from them.
However I've gone against chill solo runners more often than chill swf groups. Luckily today I haven't had much salt or to much BM so far. I'm 10 games deep as killer. Came on here to take a small break

Too *clutches heart and collapses* WHOLESOME!!
But thank you though :)

This post is too positive, is this a survivor trap!?
Spies from the Shadows are everywhere, and I can't help but be caw-tious.

Sorry. I should think about what im going to say next time

You're welcome, thanks for the BM at the exit gates

But that doesn't make him wrong. This new player literally had his very first match with Pinhead, and because he didn't play by the survivor rule book, he got crapped on. Not only does it highlight the toxicity that runs rampant in the DBD community, but it also shows just how utterly broken the SBMM is.

Its good to see some positive energy.
I kinda have to say this though it isn't a service requiring thanks to play killer. Its just not nor should it be.
Its the constant bad behaviour of other players that seem to make people think it is, or act like it should be.
You are always going to see more bad survivors than killers because you a 4x more likely to have a bad survivor in a game than you are a bad killer.
There is also a social competitive component whereby a solo player may eliminate a member of a team and the collective of friends all feed off each others negativity about one of them getting killed. So 1-2 ######### survivors can breed 3-4 other ######### survivors over the course of a game due to social pressure.
The killer doesn't have that problem they are playing solo. They can only get pissy with themselves and for my experience most don't.
Next time one of your team mates talks smack at a killer for any reason call them out on it and watch the rest of the crew jump on you too for not participating in the social hazing process of an opponent.
If you are playing with that person who screams tunneler every second, calls everything camping, gets pissy about game mechanics or has strong opinions about how people should play that apply to everyone but themselves, ask yourself why do I play with this person and cut them from your gaming team.
Perhaps we can make a community of good gamers who are emotionally mature enough to play PVP and understand its only a game.

That's the killer experience. Most of time I'm insulted in chat. You should play more killer. It's fun. Joke.

Well it's true. I was told to go die and well something else that would get me banned for saying it here in the forums. You can make everyone happy.....just head to the basement and stand in the corner.....but seriously no you can't make them all happy.

Thanks, and welcome to the forums! Also - I could swear I played against you very recently. If I recall...I was playing Demo against you on Midwich?
Killer is indeed a very stressful, often entirely thankless role so it is appreciated.
Yeah, this. Wow, but it can be rough sometimes. You'll try not to play scummy and get teabagged all the way to the gate for it.

Hey, man. I appreciate survivor mains too. Thank you for doing what you do, without you, there would be no game.
2 -
I haven't used an account with this name is months, I wish I got to face you though, I hope there are more demo's out there to play with! :D

Not at all :o I wish this community can becoming very welcoming and positive, instead of one that I hear so many negative things about :)

I get toxicity from both killers and survivors and I don’t consider it a competition. They are both to blame.
I would say thank you to all the players who opt to be the better person whether killer or survivor.

You'll see me around then! It was a very similar name.
I mostly play Demo, Doctor, Hag, Cenobite (RIP) and very occasionally Pig. Plan on learning Pyramid Head and Ghostface (post rework).

Survivors will complain no matter what you do as killer

Thank you for kind words. I want to share my killer expirience too.
When I was beginner killer I got a lot of bullies in my matches. And their goal was not just winning, but also ruining my day and damaging my mental health. I was very offended by their flashlights and teabagging. I felt so helpless against them. My hands was shaking and heart pumping fast. I missed vast majority of my attacks. I could easily lose survivor which I chased for minutes. In post game chat they were laughing at my lack of expirience.
With time I noticed my problem. I got my ######### together and everytime I saw a bully I just ignore them. I knew they wanted my attention and I decided to not give it to them. Since then clicks and teabags didn't bother me anymore. Post game insults still hurted me.
So first problem was solved and my mental health wasn't in danger anymore. But I still was a trash killer that only good for killing beginners. So I decided to learn how to deal with good players that I ignored. I learned how to bait and mindgame and bully squads turned to suicide squads. They couldn't hurt my confidence and their tricks just give me free hits. I learned when I should affraid of pallet and when I shouldn't. I learned that some pallets are working in killer favor. Basicly I learned how to end chase faster so this bullies couldn't run me for long anymore.
Now I'm full grown and fair killer. I never rely on camping and tunneling as my main strat but I can do it when survivors give me that opportunity. My main strategy is pressuring survivors from gens. I'm not a god tier killer but it's still my main role and at least I know what I'm going. There still a lot of survivors that can waste enough of my time to make me lose. But at least now they are good sports. They often reply gg to my gg. I believe they treat me like a worthy opponent that would win in different scenario.
It's sad, but looks like hate from survivors mostly goes to beginner killers. Once you get confident and dangerous killer, survivors show their hate less and less even when you lose. This is my killer main expirience and I guess it's not a common scenario. It's possible that other killer mains could have very different story with another ending.

Sometimes I want to relax, so I take any killers that don't have good perks and try to do something with them. I don't hope for the win, just trying to have some fun.
But imagine being constantly chased and brutally murdered by Wraith on Midwitch Elementary... and to add insult to injury... no add-ons and just his Shadowborn R1 perk. 2 man SWF with Dead Hard and meta, 2 random solo survivors. Post game chat was silent...
If survivors lost - cheer them up. Say they did great. Say they are worthy opponents (even if they are not).
If you lost and they escape... well with that amount of Dead Hard and Boons, you can always call them "abusers".
But if it's your fault, just pretend to be sad, pretend that you care about it. You are the killer, even if survivors are just an echo in the fog, don't just quit your mind game yet :)
P.S.: I'm far more touched by their in-game actions than words in post game chat.

I actually kinda wish the majority of killer mains would just get sick and stop, that's coming from a killer main. Like a strike of sorts, maybe if the game got forced to be fixed being a killer main wouldn't be seen as needing thanks.

I ignore the door at all cost. Once the doors are open, it's extremely rare that i continue to even go near it if the survivors are nowhere to be found on the main map. Last thing I care to see are the survivors who love to waste everyones time at the door and wait till the last second just to teabag you because you didn't kill them. And sometimes it really doesn't matter how fair you play, for some reason some of them really just feel the need to do it. Then wonder why there are so many mean killers =w= ( I feel they should add a bloodwarden effect if the survivors sit in it for too long.) I've been playing killer for about 2000 hours now? (i played it for about a yearish on PS4 - then swapped to PC last year.) It's a lot of fun playing as killer. You just have to find your own win conditions. Me being a huntress main, I don't care if people escape. I just wanna land hatchet tosses. If I get kills on the way, cool o: That's what keeps me positive :D

Aww... jeez Thanks

Thanks, In my real life I've been a participant of 2 major wars, so toxicity is nothing new to me. People are gonna act like trash, thats just the human condition. But I can appreciate this post. You gotta be built differently to play killer in this game, to put up with the nonsense and try not to throw you keyboard or controller through the screen. Keep up the positive energy.

I mean, I got two kills earlier because people were playing silly buggers around the exit gate and not just leaving. People get way too cocky sometimes when the exit is right there.

This is another reason why I stopped playing dbd recently... I mean, I can easily adapt at the circumstances (I have rules for that purpose: if someone start to being toxic, finish generators under my nose without fearing me or use their perks in an unintended way, like taking protection hits with borrow time, bodyblocking me despite i did everything to avoid to chase you after being unhooked, you asked for a unfun match in my book) but every match is filled with salt and childish people... Boring and annoying tbh, too much salt isn't good for health...
