Dead Hard promotes looping

Yes. DH should be like a quick dodge. This would solve the validation issue and also require more skill on the survivor's side to use properly
1 -
The perk would be terrible. No thanks. I hate the fake hits (more annoying than anything), but I think DH is fine.

...

Yes it would be a big downgrade from the current dead hard but this change would keep the strongest aspect of the perk which would be for distance. I don't think there will be too big of a net loss

I'm just gonna say that even as a new killer to the game, when I didn't know much about dead hard, I was only surprised by it once or twice. Then as I ran into more survivors using dead hard I already knew how to play around it. Thus the effectiveness of dead hard went way down. The issue at higher MMR is stacking time saves, preventing slugging, and even preventing hooks that all add up to losses for the killer during the match. They should definitely be toned down.
1 -
It is an unnecessary change considering that the distance advantage is only found in certain tiles. Unless I am mistaken not every map has tiles where DH's small distance does not do much. In fact we do have pallets where DH doesn't do anything at all for the survivor. Thus it balances out.

You mention time saves though, DH used correctly can literally double a chase and be a MASSIVE time waste for the Killer. Also on slugging, anti-slugging is fine IMO, as you can mitigate that by not getting too greedy and leaving downs. Usually I'm only forced to slug because the chase got out of hand, and then went on even longer, and I now have to pressure gens and don't even have time to hook. When you multiply this by 4 survivors, I definitely think it is problematic
0 -
I guess it could be tested, but I personally don't like the change.
1 -
The problem is that the iframes granted by DH, in this game and engine, will always have the validation issues. As BHVR staff have said, the alternative would be not giving the Killer feedback until after validation, which would feel weird and jerky (just imagine amplifying all rubberbanding issues even more).
0 -
Sigh.
2 -
Anti-slugging is only fine when one person can do it. Same with borrowed time and decisive strike. You nerf these and I can almost guarantee that dead hard will not be a problem for most killers
0 -
Don't lose your cool brother some people just can't see the error or hypocrisy in there thinking, the majority agree with you bear that in mind
2 -
You lasted longer than me lol
0 -
You can't nerf those perks without also dealing with the strategies that these perks are made to counter. If ds is made useless tunneling gets out of control and overpowered
0 -
You have how many other perks in the game to stop tunneling... or even just waste their time. Decisive strike is a one-off ability that guarantees you escape and waste even more of the killers time. And that's just if one survivor has it, and that's also just one perk. So the problem remains that stacking time saving perks is bad for the killer and 4 survivors stacking time saves means no progress for killers.
You can't have it both ways and MMR shows this to be true. Either the problem will be fixed or the game won't have any killers left...

And just because you are inexperienced and have no idea what you are talking about doesn't mean it isn't.
0 -
Like the inexperienced killers who do not know how to deal with DH. Gotcha.
0 -
Agreed.
0 -
Look friend, it's not a sin to have no idea what you are talking about, ignorance isn't an evil thing it's just a lack of experience on your part and I don't judge you for it. That being said you really are flat out wrong, that's not an opinion it's a statement of fact. Also to my ever lasting shame I have over 5000 hours on this game, over 3000 of them on killer so do refrain from calling me inexperienced as it just makes you come across as a fool.
0 -
Dude we already spent 3 pages worth of posts trying to convince these 2 and they are back to square one. Give up.

I don't need someone who can't deal with Dead Hard to show me how to play the game. I have managed to deal with it on my own, and thankfully I don't need to come onto the forums to complain about it.
You can say I am wrong until the cows come home. The reason you think you are right is because unlike others in this very thread, I form my own opinion and don't fall into the trap of using the same tired scenario to prove my point.
I have 6.1k hours in this game. What does your time spent in this game have to do with anything? Are you trying to prove a point? LOL
Funny how I have more hours than you, but you are the one taking offense because by your own "principles" anyone with less hours ought to refrain from calling you inexperienced. Kind of ironic when you think about it.
Keep reaching dahrling.

Earlier in this thread you claimed that the common argument against DH was "You cannot bait it out in a specific loop"
I'm just trying to imagine spending 6K hours on DBD, and still not knowing what DH for distance is
0 -
I'm not sure why "knowing how to play around Dead Hard" is even relevant, here.
Since the problem is that: A) all the survivor perks that need playing around before they have been shown or definitively ruled out benefit everyone and have a distorting effect on the meta by their existence, and B) Dead Hard has elements that can't be played around because it can now be triggered only after you stop (and if you don't stop, you never attack, so you're screwed either way).

Just because you guys think DH isn't balanced doesn't mean it isn't. I play killer like you guys and I don't have issues with it. It can be annoying sometimes, but that's about it.
0 -
"I play Killer once a month for challenges and always ######### on the baby survivors, DH isn't a problem because only the baby David's run it"
lol just bait it out bro
0 -
Yes I did, but it isn't like anyone who has DH slotted has the ability to use it for distance at ANY given loop.
I said the advantage comes from it being a perk, and being there at the right place and at the right time. Something that is not mentioned amongst you, because apparently variables only count when the killer has instead the advantage to use perks that they utilize where they get downs and kills they wouldn't have otherwise gotten.
"Hi, bloodlust!"

I play killer and survivor 50\50. I've also been playing since 2017, so I'm not a new player. You really don't know anything about me.
0 -
Don't worry, they will next ask you for your birth certificate, credit card number, keys to your car... Or else you have no legitimate opinions. 🙄

How to fix Dead Hard:
Use of Dead Hard should tear at the Survivor's injuries and trigger Deep Wounds. Dead Hard cannot be used if you are currently suffering from Deep Wounds.
0 -
The dodge is like what, 1-2 metres? So you can use it at any loop which has a straight edge of longer than that, right?
Which I think would make it work at pretty much any sized tile in the game
0 -
It doesn't work in short sized loops if the killer positions themselves accordingly. Many times I have mind-tricked survivors into thinking I am running a certain way, change my position at the last second and they usually end up running into a wall or overshoot their DH where I am inside the pallet and they cannot throw it down.
Also, If the killer has bloodlust and is a ranged killer no amount of DH will help that survivor out.
0 -
Nah honestly tho dead hard into a wall sounds like a CLASSIC baby David move
Are you SURE you're not low MMR
0 -
I love how people say others don't know how to deal with dead hard when there is no counter when good players use it for distance your hilarious lmaoo
1 -
I know that you are a fan of medieval armour and 55 years of age
Scared now huh
0 -
To bad there is a lot of m1 only killers in the game right :/
1 -
Are you sure you know how to bait DH out? Do you see how stupid this question sounds?
This is the stuff that I keep saying you guys keep doing. Stop with the trying to mock someone over what you think you know about them.
No it wasn't a "baby David", it is survivors not being able to read a killer. You know that is actually possible for a survivor to just be good with timing DH and not fall into killer mind-games, right?
0 -
If you weren't new then you've definitely seen dead hard used for distance and should know that their is no counter play
1 -
and I've already literally explained to you about 4x IN ONE THREAD that you cannot bait out a Dead Hard for distance. I'm not gonna explain it again chief.
Yes I know how to bait Dead Hard. You just look up, and a potato survivor might think OOOOOOOOOO MOVEMENT QUICK PRESS E
Or you can use your power in place of looking up (e.g. tap the bell as Wraith, or tap the power as Pyramid).
Either you're a really good troll, in which case, keep it up.
Or you genuinely have 6000 hours and you're still low MMR, and have managed to delude yourself into thinking you are actually playing with good players.
Either way thanks for the laughs brother. I am out.
1 -
Man you're a piece of work lol, you strike me as the kind of person who took this pic from somewhere else and it isn't actually yours; I have no reason to think that other than you just strike me as the sort of arrogant liar, that or a terrible troll wanna-be. Hey I tried to be nice though, just continue to be a fool as there are many out there like you so you'll have company. But yeah, I don't believe for a second that is your account, call it a hunch.
0 -
Defs not I've played 3k hours and have seen dead hard used for distance countless times no way has this man never once encountered it in 6k hours
0 -
Yep. You're right. I am a liar and I completely cropped someone else's DBD hours onto mine. If you need further proof you can also look up my steam account too. I wouldn't want you to make another comment that you know... makes ya look like what you just called me.
Also, you can stop trying, I am not giving you any more of my energy.
0 -
So you have 6k hours but have never seen dh used for distance effectively
Okay buddy
0 -
Can't we all just stop fighting and be friends
0 -
Where did I ever say I haven't seen it used for distance?
Please point me to where I said those exact words.
Edit: I see you also needed further proof, because you guys have nothing else.

😱😱😱
0 -
Right here, right here you said it can be baited
Then when everyone told you it can't be you argued with them for 2 pages
When you just said it can't be yourself just now
0 -
It just shouldn't negate damage of a successful hit. I.e you deadhard a hatchet that still hits you.
0 -
I mean, if you read the context of everything that is being said, you can see who is trying to start trouble by mocking them.
It is not that hard tbh, and I am kind of done with at least 2 of them atm.
0 -
See my post above and please see your hypocrisy
0 -
Oh honey, I asked for where I said the exact words you just said I said.
I don't like people putting words in my mouth.
