Spyware in DbD

Just read a reddit post that has me concerned a bit. It is about spyware in game files, with DbD being mentioned in this list. Can the devs comment on this? Red shell is the spyware, which is clearly against GDPR.

Another thread? I'm getting too tired so sorry but I'll limit it to 3 more lines for you -
Redshell does not, and cannot store personal information. It is used to help DbD's marketing team know the best ways to advertise the game to attract the right players, and let people know this is DbD and not COD 7 or WoW 5. The devs are actually removing it now, meaning you should be happy they care for you that much!

None of this matters anymore, Redshell will be removed on the next patch, BHVR has already released an official statement on the matter. We don't need the spam threads anymore. It's done, it's over, let it die.
