Things I miss about dead dog saloon that was left behind on the ptb (mostly lighting)

Dead dog saloon was a very interesting map during the ptb but I feel that some of its charms were lost when it came to live servers that leave a slight feeling of longing whenever I play on the map so this is just a thread about what I miss from it

The piano played (at least in my opinion) better music, that is sadly no longer the case, and while it is better than release piano which wasn't everyones favorite the ptb piano was banging off the charts


The lighting

honestly I liked this lighting much more than the lighting that we have in the current map, and sure while some of the foliage could be a bit darker so its not orange on grey it made it look look like a dust covered ghost town which imo has a much better aesthetic than the orange mist town we have now, the sunset, the stars, the wind and sand/dust, now all we really get on the map is dust, can't really enjoy seeing the stars anymore in a chase unless you look straight up, or enjoy the details on the map from any distance thanks to the orange mist

sure map looks great on both but the top one really pops, the bottom one just sends it back to being more of a generic map of the time by adding some color of tint to it (that was more common at the time but is now removed in most maps, I think it would be a good change to accept moving away from the tints and allow dead dog to break free from the past design ideology to give it back its own personality)


And finally my favorite part, the extra breakable walls (not counting the normal ones) that added nothing to gameplay except an extra thing to break if you are bored or waiting at the end of a match for a survivor to finish sacrificing

(skip to 1:26 in the video to see the example) I mean just look at that wall, so beautiful just a free 100 bloodpoints just begging for your attention, almost no reason for it to exist there gameplay wise you could get around either side of that wall in a quarter of a second but it exists anyway, but in terms of just being able to break stuff for no reason, or just break stuff as killers who are fun to break stuff with / are fast at it or have a cool animation / secondary way to break stuff, it sure does provide that serotonin at the end of the match


Overall, I just miss these aspects of ptb dead dog saloon
