New map thoughts?
I see a few discussions on the killer but let's chat map.
It's a beautiful map. Creepy. Buuuttttt... I had a match as doctor, and I noticed I had a very hard time catching up to anyone.
Every gen I approached I saw them shift w 50 yards or so before I even got close. I struggled getting hooks. I was running monitor as well.
4 gens done in 5 minutes, and I had about 3 hooks total. At the end game chat I asked them if they saw me and all 4 said yes. They all admitted they saw me miles away and had plenty of time to just run away.
M1 killers will moat definitely struggle here.
Now I played Billy, and did better bc of speed. But I see this as a specific killer only map bc it's flat, open, and easy to see from long distances.
Hag, doctor, Mikey, trapper, trickster will suffer pretty bad here I think.

It’s aesthetically beautiful but WAY too massive for no real reason. Slower killers are definitely going to struggle.

I like it too. At least it's not a maze like RPD, but I feel kinda meh with M1 killers.
I'm trying to see if there is a work around with being seen using M1 killers.

Another map that's way too big. It's like we've learned nothing.
It is beautiful visually though.

Absolutely hate it. Too damn big. Too damn bright. Low mobility killer's worst nightmare.

If I recall correctly, it's about the same size as Father Campbell's. It's just that the building is not in the middle of the map, so that it seems bigger from one side.

New map is the final nail in the coffin to my Trapper career.

The game needs better map designers. I understand that aesthetic is a nice thing to have, but the maps are ######### awful. They need to stop making big maps.

Map is terrible looks cool but is terrible i play every killer but i main huntress i chased survivors in mid for half the game no blood lust ok ill use hatchets more often then nope did that the mid is way to big and my rng if i wanted to hit a survivor i had to break 3 breakable walls so the way i see it if im on huntress and see this map ill just dc not worth a headache every thing else i fully agree is way to connected i live for crossmap hatchet shots and rlly cant do that effectivly on this map i would rather play on the game map with huntress tbh

I feel like the thing to do here is break the walls in the main building right away. There are windows on each wall that are really strong unless you break the two walls.
Other than that I see no counter to them just running early bc they see you. My plague did well against a 4man bc they didn't heal, that gave me 1 less speed boost to deal with on each survivor.
Doctor does bad here. He just can't catch up.
Billy does okay. You just have to make sure you break those walls.
Haven't tried trapper yet. But I imagine that he is going to be rough with how bright, and lack of grassy the ground is

-Love the giant library/atrium/gallery/crow's nest/whatever. My favorite spot is right in the middle up top underneath the nest. That's my spot. I called it.

it's very big and the sounds of paint coming out of the ground kind of remind me of self care/med kit healing so it always distracts me, overall, for dbd standards, it's a good map!

Too bright. Way too big. No way to hide traps. Too open to really make much use of stealth abilitys.
Gotta say it doesn't feel very killer friendly yet. At least my games were pretty much survivor sided today.
Yeah i don't really know yet. I think killers will have a hard time with this map.

So its not just me I kept thinking I heard people healing and no one was there.
I love the look but it seem way to big like I've been w hard every time I've gotten it.

Can we talk about how this map has the WORST TOTEM SPAWNS ever? You might as well put a huge beacon of light on top of them at this point.

Glad to see that they haven't learn from their map problems. Map is still horribly big and is a pain on M1 killers.

The sizes are in the DbD wiki
- Eyrie of Crows is 156 tiles (9984 m²)
- Azarov's Resting Place is 176 tiles (11264 m²)
- Father Campbell's Chapel is 140 tiles (8960 m²)
So it's between Father Campbell's and Azarov's in size.

It's a beautiful map, but... I definitely disliked the tower, when survivors run upstairs it usually feels like a waste of time to chase them, due to not being able to drop doing from the balcony. Since the map is too big, SWF groups will just say "hey, i'm looping him around the balcony" and there you go, you lost the game.
I personally don't have a problem with the size of the map. There are perks that help you to see if they're too far away, gen rushing, re-doing gens you already kicked...
I have this massive personal complaint about the noises of the black ink this new map has. I wish that was lowered down, a little bit.
Besides that, cool map, cool design, but the tower definitely could receive some tweaks here and there.
We can't forget that most players play in groups while using third party voice apps, and the killer has to deal with them by himself.
Maps definitely should be more balanced towards the killer.

The disposition of the map and the design of the assets good, but it's too bright for my taste and there are an ambiance sound which sounds too similar to a survivor healing.

Yeah, I noticed that whenever the black ink that comes from the sand appears, that sound happens.
Personally, I have been playing pinhead lately, and the sound reminds me his cube, which can be very confusing.

Oof. Temple is most definitely not a good map. Lmao. I hate temple. If I'm not mistaken, temple is up there in 5 worst maps for killers anyway.

It looks good, but you really don't wanna have hex build on that map. It's so easy to find totems there, because there are not really any corners or something to cover them, they are just next to walls.

I really like it. It's aesthetically beautiful and really pretty. The only issue I have with it is that it's a bit too bright, but other than that it's fine.
