Weird Things Survivors Do...
Okay granted, I mostly play killer - so many some of you survivor veterans can explain this sort of oddness.
Situation 1: I give you gate. Before leaving, you give me a final hit (cool) and put down your toolbox/medkit/flashlight. Why do you leave your items behind?
Situation 2: I'm chasing you, you are doing decently - but then you jump off a ledge (without balanced landing) giving me an instant and immediate down.
Situation 3: At the start of the match, you spend at least 3 seconds teabagging at each other. Is this some sort of traditional greeting?
Situation 4: Sometimes you slam out gens and avoid chases so judiciously that all of us end up with the same (low) BP. When you've already won, why not get into more chases/take some damage?
I'm sure I'm forgetting at least one.

1 Respect/A thank you
2 N/A
3 Yes it's a greeting
4 They care more about escaping then they do BP

Sit 1: I have left my item for killers as like a "gg" or if it's obvious they let me escape. Or as a "I'm sorry the other survivors are #########". depends. Just a gesture of good will towards the killer. I'm on console so i can't chat after the match to say anything.
Sit 2: Idk, I'm just dumb sometimes and think why not?
Sit 3: It's a ritual to summon the swf gods into a solo q game
Sit 4: I can't say i've done this one. I would guess a tome challenge or new-ish survivors that don't understand the BP game yet.

1: We're giving you offerings and gifts to make you happy!
2: I can't say for I don't do that without balanced.
3: It is a greeting, yes.
4: Same as number 2: I love the chases but I don't go looking for them frantically like I'm trying to make a juke compilation.

1: It's a thank you, they're giving up their item to show gratitude. Some survivors will also do this as a mercy offering if the match has gone to hell.
2: Bad judgement call or nothing else to go to. No one is perfect when looping.
3: Yup. Survivors enjoy teabagging each other at the start of a match as a hello/hey there/how are ya. Some will also do it if someone blows up a generator or as a thank you for healing them or after a spicy play.
4: Some people just want to do gens a leave. Other times the killer isn't putting on pressure and there isn't much else to do. Not everyone cares about BP as well.

1. Easy way to say thanks or gg without chat.
2. Few reasons: was an accident, hoping it confuses you, trying to get "fall from great height while being chased" challenge done.
3. Just saying hi to the randoms.
4. Previous match killer probably kicked their butt and they got 0 gens done. Next match they are more focused on escape. It gets pretty bad during events where survivors need to escape in order to get their reward. Survivors focus on escaping for reward which means focusing on gens rather than BP, this leads to killer trying to kill faster, which leads to survivors busting out gens faster... And you get this unfun vicious circle of who can do their objective (escape/kill) faster.
Another reason is the challenges - complete multiple gens in one match causes survivors to finish their gen as quickly as possible so they can try and get the amount needed done before they die or other survivors complete the gens before them.

1. That's an offering. When survivors feel grateful for killer's actions or they are cornered and asking for mercy so dropping item is a gesture of surrender. When killer lost the game, survivors may leave item at the gates as sign of respect.
2. Jumping is fun, but it's 50/50, killer hits them with the lunge or misses. They can be just concerned and no where to run.
3. Agreed, that's disgusting. Reason to replace Lethal Pursuer with Discordance. But they just greet each other.
4. They are just greedy, didn't used any economical offerings, found good item inside the chest or just doing archives/rituals.

1) I do love giving the killer an item as an offering. Just yesterday I gave this random purple key I found in a chest to a Legion who let us farm. I wish the killers would receive something for items left behind, like a BP boost or something.
2) If it's their only option, I guess... I try to avoid falling from weights because I always get smacked when going down anyway.
3) It's just to say hello or good luck.
4) If the match is kind of already won, I try to avoid going down so I dont get camped/tunneled.

- it's a way of showing respect, since items are so valuable.
- probably a mistake.
- traditional greeting in soloQ.
- Noed fear, I guess.
- you're definitely missing a few.

Kind of a teammate pet peeve of mine and something I'm mystified about in general: survivor is working on a gen. Another survivor goes down in the area of the gen. The survivor can't possibly finish the gen by the time the killer hooks the survivor and patrols. They stay there, working on a 30% gen when there's zero reason whatsoever for the killer to patrol anywhere else. Half the time they've seen the killer look directly at them on the gen before hooking. Then they start the chase with next to no distance. It's so ridiculously inefficient from a survivor perspective. You're not finishing the gen and you're also giving the killer their next chase on a silver platter. Get distance and make them actually look for you or decide whether it's worth going after you at all. You save the killer so much time when they don't have to look for you to start a chase, don't have to make up distance, and defend a gen at the same time.

- A Hit is also a bonus for survivor. The item: It's for you! It's a gift for nice killer.
- I recognized that deadhard is no more possible after falling from a ledge. Otherwise just desperate and hope that the killer is not following me fast enough.
- There was a picture posted which explains the endless meanings of teabagging and pointing. At the start it's mostly a greeting. So here we are. Let's go!
- Maybe I don't have the right build for chases on the actual survivor. Sometimes if you get hooked first time it can be your last hook. Depends on the killer and teammates. There could be dailys and challenges which is more important in the moment.
