SWF Idea

So, the "problem" (if so we should call it) is that SWF has on one side friends that want to chill together and on the other side sweaty bully squads. There is no way to distinguish among them therefore there is no way to nerf a SWF to avoid a bully squad without making it hard for friends to enjoy their time together so hear me out.

What defines bully squads is that they have the same set of 4 perks and usually even the same item (flashlights usually) that make bullying easily, this however is not true for friends that chill together as they have roles (hex-hunter, looper, gen repairer, healer etc).

Why not implement an item-perk uniquisation mechanic for swf? Meaning that it would make swf members have only one flashlight, one BT, one DS, one DH, one CoH, one of each type of item etc. This could allow regular swf not to be busted/hated by killers and still nerf only the bully squads.

What do you guys think? It would also make place for more specialization in roles and avoid the map-wide booning (that is a problem only on swf).

I dislike it, because if a swf could only have one bt and one ds, tunneling would be too easy, and it sucks to have a friend not able to play with you.

I think the game should be changed to discourage killers to kill one survivor early, balancing the game in such a way that 4, 3 or 2 survivors have equal chance to win.

Easy mark swf in the lobby and let the killer decide if he wants to dodge or take the risk to face a bully squat

I've played squads who weren't all identical perk or item wise.

buff solo queue and killers. I play with a dwight that plays like you'd say a dwight plays but it's sincere and rarely care to solo or as nonmeta killer

I can see this idea working out, but I'm still against it, mainly because most of the time, the swfs that you are playing against are just people who want to play with their friends, and its in poor taste to punish that. I am personally one for Scott's idea, where your bloodpoints are multiplied by the number of people in a swf. Another thing regarding swf is that people playing together should also be rewarded, since the solo q to swf ratio is like 80:1, and you get some extra bps (like a 10% bonus which is multiplied by the number of players in the swf) with playing with your buddies. I see games like apex, warzone, and overwatch do it, why not for dbd.

Single pick perks are a thing for comp and even then there are exceptions in some cases, like BT and some times even DS being able to be used by multiple people (usually 2)

This is still in a way punishing people for playing with friends, the best way to handle this is to give survivors buffs that affect solos but not SWF, and the best way to do that is communication

Give them built in Kindred, probably the easiest thing the devs could do and it would help out massively.

Devs seem like theyre adding voice lines to the game, why only give them to killers? Give a chat wheel to Survivors, such as "Repairing a Gen!", "The killer is near!", "Going for the save!", etc. These messages could also show up in the top left of the screen where currently theres not much happening. To keep immersion as well you can make Survivors speak in their native language

I think constantly policing and limiting a game meant to be fun is counter intuitive.

SBMM is meant to counter these bully squads. If they are sweaty bullies, then they should be , majority of the time, playing sweaty killers that use all the tricks in the book.

Maybe it's meant to do this but it's not working and one reason why is cause we have not enough killers so you get sweaty swfs with much higher mmr and more experience and that's cause the game is in a bad state for killer atm

What are your Killer Builds? Because usually the players who play sweaty themselves are those who complain about sweaty players... And they counter them by playing sweaty, which gives them more of those players.

    @Topic:

Bad idea. This is used for tournaments, but in tournaments also the Killer has some rules to follow (e.g. no Add Ons above yellow Add Ons or some Add Ons are just banned). Limiting one side to tournament levels would be the wrong way.

It would make tunneling really easy. You have a 25% chance to get hit by DS, so you just tunnel every Survivor. If they have DS, unlucky, but you know that now all 4 Survivors are free to tunnel. If they dont have DS, you can just tunnel them a second time. Does not sound good.

Let alone that also Survivor players paid for the game and grinded the Perks. It would be bad if you would remove their ability to play how they want to, just because you think it is unfair that some players use the same Perks. And even just friends who play together use the same Perks - I play with one friend I know for 20 years. And 3 out of 4 Perks are the same for both of us, why should we be limited, despite being just friends who play together?

Ähhm do you have an example for a sweaty killer build I'm not 100% sure hat I use on every one of my killer but as legion for example I use tana discordance pop and one perk I alter like I feel is that sweaty? I'm not the most experienced player but I know I don't even have stuff like ruin undying BBQ devour

Again the bp is not the answer killers are gonna leave anyway we wanna have fun.I dont get fun by getting x4 bp

Oh, I did not mean the build only. But some players really camp a lot, try to onehook Survivors, tunnel, etc... And wonder why they get strong Survivors. Personally, I would say that something like 4 Slowdown-Perks is pretty sweaty.

But you dont seem to have many Perks in general. (On a side note, really get Bubba and BBQ, this makes the grind much easier)

A thing is also that gaining SBMM-Rating as Killer is a lot easier than Survivor. So I guess you will find decent Survivors in lower MMR-Regions, simply because they dont manage to rank up, despite being decent. You can be the best looper in the game, but when you die in the end because you dont care about escaping, you wont gain MMR.

Yeah got Bubba recently but had no time to grind for BBQ cause I saw it a lot on other killers. I try to avoid tunneling the best I can and camping is just to boring so why would I I want to have fun play a video game not staring at a struggling body for half the round und the try to do it again

As we see on both sides, sometimes MMR matches people with whomever is available, creating piss poor matches.

But, for me, most of my matches seem to even out throughout a gaming session .

Just treat everyone as bully squad. Amount of people who just chill is too small to consider them for balancing

Am I the only one that don't buy when killers complain about bully squads? Killers complain about everything the survivors does and call it bullying. Use flashlight? Your bullying, bodyblocking to save a teammate? Your bullying? Using perk? Your bullying, just existing? your bullying. It's so ridiculous.
