Universal Sign for Signalling Camping
When playing survivor and being camped, can there be one specific signal to show other SoloQ there is a camper nearby. Or rather, can we agree on an action. For example, do we do quick arm actions, or longer hook escape actions which don't actually escape but can be seen as a warning sign?
I feel these get muddled up, but perhaps by agreeing on a single action may help. I understand a lot of people aren't going to necessarily read this, but is there an action you prefer to use to warn others?

Fast Struggles = Camping
Long & Slow Struggles = Someone needs to get me

When the game was in its infancy it used to be that fast struggles meant camping. But this has long since been forgotten and now there isn't really any specific sign and it's pretty difficult to make everyone use the same arm actions as of course not everyone reads the forums/discord etc.

I'm just doing Yoga and the Killer is getting pointers from my expertise so dont mind us.

I think it's safe to assume that the guy on the hook is getting camped.
If they're not getting tunneled that is. 😎😁

Ping system for minimal survivor communication to bridge the gap between soloQ and SWF.
please.
4 -
Just die then i wont have to camp you.
7 -
Yeah using that time to get some cardio in and the killer giving the pep talk.
"C'mon, one more, you can do it!"
And then a slap for motivation.
5 -
This is why I think the game could have some pre-written messages for solo Survivors to be able to send out.
4 -
Yea it's called kindred and should be basekit.
1 -
Yeah I need that slap

But then I lose out on 2 minutes of meaningful conversation and nobody to confess sins to. I have to do that before I die!
1 -
I think that's the best thing to follow. Unless Bubba took a survivor to the basement, in which case until I have solid visual evidence he's roaming the map I am never going down for the rescue!

Doesn't the undetectable status nullify Kindred's effects though? A killer with a perk such as Insidious or some other undetectable perk/power would slip through that hoop, and then Kindred is worthless.

Even for insidious and killers powers (pig, gf, wraith) you see the aura and usually how they position themselves while cloaking themselves.
3 -
you can still tell when the killer is camping cause they'll be standing there for 2 seconds before insidious procs.
3 -
Yeah there is that, though still could catch out those who don't see it or who aren't as good as observation. Bearing in mind I'm yet to complete "I'm On Observation Duty" means I've got a lot of improvement to do in that respect.

It's this new perk called kindred. I rarely see anyone run this in solo q. No it should not be basekit. If survivors fail to run it, then basement bubba will get his 4k.

SoloQ survivors should not be forced to run a perk to get to a level with SWF (which still have more info even if 4 soloQ survivors do run Kindred)
maybe don’t make it basekit but at least there should be a ping system to make soloQ be able to get some kind of coordination without giving SWF even more advantage.
3 -
Turn off your crossplay and talk with your teammates in chat before the match. Tell them a sign. Like three raise of hands=camper bubba, do genrush.
1 -
You can still see them positioning near the hook and then going invisible, so it's obvious if they have insidious or are undetectable/crouching.
Yes, yes it should. You only need to be cautious about kindred if you're camping, if you aren't camping it isnt an issue for you.
1 -
Sometimes basekit kindred is needed. Don't be so biased towards one side.

Text by the survivor's icons all it takes is a press of a button
1 I'm being camped
2 Do gens
3 Open the exit gates
4 I'm being chased
1 -
I don't know what school you went to but my loadout is only made of 4 perks in solo q. I use kindred on all my loadouts and I still think it needs to be basekit.
1 -
Or we could just run Kindred, since that is a god tier solo queue perk that buffs solo to the same extent as SWF, basically.

Probably one of the dumbest things I've ever heard. If you are going to camp me like an idiot I will just tell my friends so they can gen rush.
2 -
The problem is, swf is super strong b/c of the level of coordination, if you add that to solo q we'll see more drop in killer population. Honestly solo q is the only reason a lot of killers still play killer. at least against them killers have a chance to actually win.

Or… we could give soloQ the mich needed QoL and basic coordination mechanics to then balance around that.
bridging the gap between Solo and SWF and then balancing around this without screwing over killers or solo survivors.
2 -
Sure that's a nice idea. But how would you buff solo q and maintain balance for the killer?

I am not a game designer.
all I know is that making soloQ suffer and making certain perks necessary to avoid massive disadvantages is not the way to go

Once Kindred appears on the Bloodweb. I'm was thinking of something for people who have yet to get it, or wish to experiment with other setups.

Give survivors any combination of voice comms, selectable pings, or an info-heavy HUD that shows what actions teammates are currently performing as well as full perk display for all four survivors. Then give killers and maps a balance pass and generally improve killer base power to account for the fact that survivors aren't going to be as inefficient as they used to be. Also rework teammate aura perks and the Blindness status effect so that they remain relevant.
SWFs are unaffected because they already had these features, but solos get brought up. Now the game can be balanced for a level closer to SWF.

So they'll just play normal and if i wound them, they'll be off to the nearest CoH totem?
0 -
I like this suggestion b/c it includes a killer & map rework as part of the solution. Rarely do i see survivors who demand solo q buffs also say killers and maps would need a pass to rebalance stronger solo teams.

It's a perk called Kindred. Use it.
0 -
Definitely should not be basekit.

You failed at math eh? Four survivors means 16 perks.
0 -
You failed at math? Idk if you ever played solo q, but the other perks are not visible to me so at the end of the day there is only 4 perks to my disposal yes.
0 -
That's your wrong opinion, but go on
0 -
This is why I use Kindred almost each time I play. I do use the fast arm flailing to signal I'm being camped / insidious face / camped and instead I guess my teammates take and interpret my flailing as a sign to come get me only to get mowed down or grabbed sooo... Arms flailing mean nothing in solo queue unfortunately.

You also failed at reading comprehension. He never said anything about 16 perks at YOUR disposal. He said 4 survivors which means 16 perks total a killer has to deal with. He was saying a survivor can sacrifice one of their 2nd or 3rd chance overpowered perks to bring Kindred. He mentioned DS, DH, BT, and maybe Unbreakable. I agree with that as a solo survivor. I play solo all the time. I've never played in a SWF. There's 0 reason to make Kindred basekit. Survivor players don't need to know where the killer is and what they are doing all the time.

If that is how it pans out then yes
