Sign of DDOS attack or just a bug???

I'm on Steam/PC. I was playing a match as solo survivor against a plague on haddonfield.
Once there was only 1 gen left the game froze for a while and then kicked me out to the end game screen. The score cards and buttons to exit were missing. I was able to get back to the main menu by activating my wireless controller and pressing the Y button. If I didn't have a controller I would have probably had to restart the game.
I was also given a DC penalty once I was back in the main screen.
Is this a sign of a DDOS attack on the dbd servers?
I have a couple friends on Switch and Playstation 5 and they have had similar things happen since the new patch/characters released.
