Dire Crow Damage within 8 meters - Necessary?
Been playing for a few matches, maps such as Rotten Fields, Grim Pantry, and Shelter Woods. Haven't played in a 2 story indoor map yet such as RPD or Game. However, I can still get damage states at long wall jungle gyms, pallet down, without the 8 meter damage flight path. In fact, I'm not sure if I've yet to actually hit someone within the 8 meter initial flight path. It could just be that I'm at terribly low MMR, or that I've just been lucky, but I'm not sure how necessary the damage state for initial flight is for her. It being a damage state seems to shut down many short loops with a single crow, and heavily encourage running for the hills. I'd like to hear your opinions on how necessary you think the initial damage from short range is for the killer, or if she can do fine with long shots. Thank you!

I mean i think Artist is fine honestly, the way you optimal play him is anyway through the crow swarm and then the dmg, there arn't to much where survs actually are at risk of being injurd by crow instantly, the whole playstile of artist is anyway anti loop so you just kind hold shift w and try to dodge crows i guess
But even if they would say they remove the instant dmg i think it wouldn't be that big of a problem, would still be an decent killer i juwt don't see the need to remove it

Yes its needed. We should not nerf more killers.

It's fine you're not supposed to 1 v 1 the killer for 5 gens. It's not a fighting game. And she's still not S tier

If you removed that, you would have to either reduce her cool-down by a lot, or increase repel duration.

Yes, if you get hit essentially point blank with a projectile attack, it should do damage.
And it's actually not easy to get a survivor (a non-potato one, anyway) to eat a dire crow at 8 meters or less. It takes some finessing.

The only way a survivor is getting hit by a Dire Crow and not the swarm is if the Killer places the Dire Crow down at a tile and the survivor blindly runs into the range of it.
Played a few artist games myself and many survivors either run to another tile, attempt to bait the Dire Crow, or run the tile in a way they can run into it from behind.
Unlike other range powers it's impossible to use the power to imstant damage people in the open since by the time you can fire it the survivor is already out of damage range.
So yeah she needs to be a threat at loops because she's not outside of them.

Yes it’s needed.

I disagree that she isn't a threat outside of loops; in fact mid-range is where player her is the most fun, imo. Getting a surv swarmed and making pathing predictions and hitting them with follow-up crows to injure/down is hella fun. If I can get a survivor to run through a "trap" crow to get swarmed while the power cools down, then you can get a shot or two at them after they leave the loop.
But yeah, the short range damage crows really only work on survivors who have no situational awareness at all, or if you force them into a situation where they have to take a certain M1 or their chances with the crow.

Yes, it's needed. Her power would be close to useless otherwise.

It's needed, otherwise she'd be a worse Nemesis

If it was removed, they would need to make swarms more threatening, because at the minute, if you use more than 1 dire crow to swarm a survivor, they can repel the swarm before your power is off cooldown (if you aren't running certain add-ons)

They would have to make the cooldown on her power way shorter then.

I can't even figure out how to get damage from the crows & hit many survivor's? They seem useless 😒

Thread was 11months dead.

WHY DOES NO ONE READ THE DATES

I really don't know.
There is another one on the front page that was 35 months dead!
Necroed from a person with only 2 posts and only to call something "typical killer main" 🤦

It's needed or she has no anti-loop, which is the point.
