Why do we put so much weight into an opinion based on someones hours?
So something I fail to understand is the fact that most of the time when someone shares an opinion on the forum someone usually asks how many hours you have in the game. Now I get with experience in the game you gain more understanding as to mechanics, counterplay, etc. However why does my opinion or someone else's opinion on a subject depend so heavily on hours. I would argue that fresh eyes on a problem can be helpful and also that someone with 500 hours in the game's opinion matters just as much as someone with 5000 hours. Your thoughts?

Right and wrong.
Some things a freshman sees better where a longer player got used to to and simply accepts it.
Some mechanics and playstyles and counterplays or stuff like that a newcomer sometimes simply can´t judge (or don´t know about).
A (good) experienced player can often make far better improvement proposals.

If someone says something like "Myers is OP" it's usually a newer player who haven't played the game enough. So asking their hours is a good way of seeing if they're new or not.
Usually people will ask if you say something they deem completely wrong.
