"Splinter" Retired Killer Offerings

I just saw them on my old killers and brought me back old memories where i used the offering to play as Myers and i got destroyed. :)

Did you miss those offerings?

*For those who don't know, these offerings allowed you to play as killer who don't own yet without any perks nor add ons.

Devs disabled the offerings like 2 years ago.

I got a Splinter offering on Legion for Freddy and Pig back when I started playing. I'm kind of sad that I immediately prestiged Legion after I got them to level 50, because I lost all of the Splinter Offerings.

I miss Old DBD in general, and that definitely includes Splinters.

I still hate myself for that day where I prestiged my Freddy, and forgot that my last remaining Splinter was among his offerings.

I am terribly sorry, random Glass Splinter from Freddy's Bloodweb.

I never understood why did the devs decide to remove them, but you can add that to the very big list of things that I will never forgive BHVR for.

Yeah they actually made me buy licensed killers after trying them out.

    Same!

I bought Michael only after testing him thanks to a Black Splinter, back in early-2019.

They were also buggy. Sometimes they wouldn't even activate and other they would stay active well after the match ended unti you restarted your game. You could glitch out an offering, unlock that killer till you restarted your session and dumped pointed into them to unlock the teachable. No money required. Well, if teachables is all you cared about.

They really weren't the best experience anyway and may have deterred players from purchasing killers. Players would play killers they've never played before with no perks. To add to that (if I'm remembering correctly) splinter offerings appeared as "secret" offerings so survivors would think you have a mori. This is when you could get hooked and then immediately mori'd afterwards. So they'd genrush hard and try their very best to avoid the mori.

I remember feeling so bad for some players trying out Hag and getting absolutely destroyed. Many of them seemed to regret it in after game chat. And there'd always be an "oh..." moment when you realize they used that offering.

It's true they were iffy because you went in with nothing, but I think they messed up here.

They remove these, only to then see Killer/survivor tickets added into mobile. They let you test play a character, similarly.

No, they were useless and made the bloodweb grind even worse.

My most stupid way to use the Shape splinter was because I didnt buy him back then, but really like the Scratch mirror gameplay. So I got every Shape splinter showing on Bloodweb just to play him...without even stalking.

Difference there is that you level up characters in mobile by playing them, not spending BP. So you’re able to permanently keep perks earned via tickets, but won’t get add-ons. Also, licensed characters can’t be tested with the tickets.
