Update Jolt
This is a terrible perk. Now that Scourge Hook Pain Resonance is out I literally see zero reason Jolt should ever be used objectively. POP does one thing Joly does FAR better and now SHPR does the OTHER thing it does better with an extremely small downside. The increased regression makes up for it absolutely.
POP is far superior. Hard-pressed for time? Well use SHPR and get nearly double the regression Jolt would give in just slightly more time. Odds are if you couldn't afford that time needed you are going to lose the gen regardless so it doesn't matter that needing to reach a hook takes longer. Oh and it tracks where survivors are. Oh and theres No dumb limitation.
Jolt even comes with a LIMIT. As if that super weak perk needs a limit of some sort. A the very least removing the limit should be tested. If say 3 survivors go down within seconds....they're going to lose the game anyway and the gen would only be regressed 24%. That is less than pop.
If the dumb limit has to stay. Then the radius should be buffed double or more. Even then it would be crap.
Jolt BARELY impacts gens that someone wasn't even working on and thats all I see it ever doing really.

Well, while I fully agree that Jolt should be updated to work on special attack downs, there is something you're missing, which is that Jolt is far more consistent than either of those. Pop has to be used on a strict time limit and you have to physically be present at the generator you want it used on, and Pain Resonance requires you to be in range of one of four random hooks in the trial- whereas Jolt will always work provided that there's a generator in range.
If it were buffed to work on special attack downs too, it'd actually be a really solid perk, not a weak one.

The IDEA of Jolt I love, sadly it's EXTREMELY lack luster.
The main things I want see buffed with Jolt is:
- The range is TINY. The whole point of the perk is it can hit more than 1 gen, yet the range sucks so bad it doesn't even hit 1 gen sometimes
- The regression is too small..8%..... Make it 10. Even if you somehow manage to hit more than 1 gen that's still only 16% which will almost never happen.
- Maybe make it for any kind of down, not just M1.
It's just a really bad perk.... I want it to be good, but it's really not worth running at all. Scourge Hook Pain Resonance makes this perk look like a complete joke because well, it is.

There is still reason to surge, yes its similar but still different.
Maybe increase the range of Surge (Jolt) to 48M?

Jolt is a great idea gen regression that rewards for you for downing and doesn’t make you have to go to a gen. But, the limits are terribly stupid. These three changes can make it a viable regression perk.
- Remove M1 requirement the devs must see it’s stupid now, considering they didn’t have it on the Nemesis perks or Blood Favor or Third Seal anymore. This will make it viable to all killers in terms of any value.
- Boost range to 40 meters. 32 can’t even reach a gen on some this will help with map weaknesses.
- Reduce cool down to 30 seconds. Regression isn’t enough to justify 40 seconds. And this can give it huge snowball value.

I gave it that credit for the speed. The problem is that regression is so insanely small combined with the cooldown makes it so I see almost no reason to ever use that over Pop or the scourge perk.
But hell to the yes it should work on all attacks.

All it needs is that it should work on any down, not just basic attacks. Then it’s actually a solid perk. The 40s cooldown is fine.

I think it's still going to need a buff even after that
It doesn't have to be a massive buff but taking the regression from 8 to 10 while making the range slightly bigger would make this perk actually worth using.

I still like Jolt.
I also happen to really like Tinkerer so I'm not too bothered by its range restriction. I would love to see its Cooldown lowered, if not removed entirely. I would prefer to keep its M1 restriction, though.

Again, I like the idea of Jolt I just wish it were worth using over other perks.
I'm not asking for big game changing super OP buffs, just a range increase and making the regression go from 8% to 10%
I agree though, in the current state of Jolt why on earth does it even have a cooldown?
I just wish the devs were more willing to do buffs and nerfs more consistantly with underperforming perks instead of just letting them sit around and rot. Jolt is a good example of a perk that could easily be fixed up and given love if the Devs cared.

Precisely, there is so many perks that could be tweaked to be more appealing. Most of them wouldn't even require testing.
Imagine if Jolt as 64 meters 10% on ANY attack and had no cooldown. As if anyone would find that OP?
There are so many terrible perks that could be buffed and still wouldn't change the meta but would at least encourage more variety.

Even if they overperformed, they could tweak them back a bit the very next patch, but they are lazy and don't do actual balance patches.
