Mori’s should be grotesque?
Hag & clown are definetly something to expect as.
Pinhead and memeing around toilet is funny.
But more or less the rest? meh. the game is not pg13 afterall

There's only so much the animators can do while still keeping the game legal everywhere. Some countries really don't like decapitations, for example.

I guess you hit some pretty headache inducing walls of distributen and legal problems, once you hit Mortal Kombat style levels of fatalities. For games like MK this is part of the appeal and you will generate that much more interest in the countries were it is allowed, that you might compensate for the ones were you get banned, but the thing is that especially China and some other eastastian countries doen't want too much grotesque and open brutality in their games, so for you to lose the chinese market you must make it 100% be worth it in market shares in the US and Europe.
That being said, the mori are more like a little easter egg and no part of the core gameplay experience, so they tend to be much more harmless in terms of visual spectacle and dont involve many extra details added to them like inner organs or viscere, just look how Bubbas mori plays out: he chainsaws the poor survivor from toe to head, but the model stays intact. Some of them are pretty cool (Clown, Pyramidhead, Pinhead, Artist), but others are quite lacking in impact. The Doctors one always feels like its missing something, for example, and same goes for Trickster, but I guess mori are what they are.
What would be nice, though, would be if we could get a second mori for everyone and have a 50/50 chance of seeing either, giving it a bit more variety.
