Is Freddy the "Noob Tube" of DbD?
Freddy is seemingly the only killer I can consistently get a 4 kill game with, for reasons I am quite literally unaware to. From my understanding, Freddy is extremely weak at the moment, compared to his old states. He is, without a doubt, THE most perk dependent killer I can think of, even more than say, Trapper. Playing Freddy with no pop, tinkerer, or corrupt, feels almost like he's F tier. But playing with these perks, he's just simply good enough to perform well with.
It's a weird thing to ask, but how come survivors have so much trouble with Freddy? I'm at a lower level of play at the moment due to the rank reset, but I've noticed that almost every survivor I have faced while playing Freddy, just struggles immensely. It could be I am playing against newer players, which is why I pose the question:
Is Freddy considered a Noob Tube to the Dead by Daylight community? Because he's going in that category to me.

Nah, but playing him gives you a Chad energy, allowing you to constantly 4K.

Freddy is the only killer that can teleport on top of survivors' objective without needing to setup and he has very good synergy with slowdown perks. You can't brute force gens against him, you need to actually last a good chunk in chase to give your team time to push them. This means the average survivor struggles a lot because they can't last enough in chase, but he falls apart against good players because he has nothing to down them aside from a very mediocre chase power.

I knew you'd be here.

I am always present when my killer gets mentioned.
No one is as dedicated and devoted to him as I am.

What's a "noob tube"?
I main Freddy and Pig, and I seem to do quite alright with him as well. My build is usually: BBQ, POP, Bamboozle and Lethal Pursuer. I only use fake pallets addons.

There's other killers that are way more oppressive for noobs than Freddy, like Hag or Legion. Freddy is very mediocre in basically every category, he's not the best or worst at anything.

I liked Old Freddy, comparatively weaker to other Killers but the nightmare realism and fun factor were there.

As everyone should <3

Especially with the Z bkock and the red oaint brush.
So satisfying and fun to see survivors run to a pallet thinking they'll make it, only to realize to be in the Dreamworld before reaching the pallet 😂

Freddy is actually one of the versatile killers in the game. He can basically get value out of most perks. I have used piles of perks on him and they perform quite well. You can do a blindness build, Brute force build, Gen defense build, etc.
Spooky just made a video of a new build for him that looks pretty darn sexy. SHPR, Deadlock, Dead man's switch, nemesis.
Upon hooking your obsession dead man's switch blocks gens that survivors STOP repairing. nemesis is to keep your obsession changing, Scourge hits gen with most progress making the survivors on it scream which in turn removes them from the gen blocking it.
The most important part of this build is Freddy's Class photo add-on which shows you teleporting to every gen on the map resulting in people getting off their gens and they are blocked.

Yeah, I would say Freddy is average. Not trash because his teleport and snares and pseudo stealth and slowdown aren’t bad. But he doesn’t really excel at any one thing. He probably was above average before they nerfed his ability to put people back to sleep after they used a clock, he took a slight ding from that.
In terms of fun, though, I always have fun playing Freddy. 🙂

I find Freddy to be amongst the most boring Killers in the game. His puddles don't do anything. He's a basic M1 Killer with a meh teleport

Freddy is pretty meh, just a shadow of his former self. Only thing he has going for him is teleport and only with meta build if you want to play against decent survivors.

Passive Invisibility, Passive phasing, Passive survivor debuff, teleport that leads directly to the main survivor objective.
Yeah, noob tube is the best answer.

Against good player it may not work but normal players struggle with everything distracting.
Freddy has oblivious and you have to wake up, or maybe pop a gen (unless this evil addon) - and his teleporting.
I saw him quite strong in many games.
Same with pig - had a game where we started with the traps on.
It took me three boxes and the others did not got in the game at all - we lost.
Sometimes it is the little things.

To answer that question...A "noob tube" is a term used in gun games for a Grenade Launcher Attachment for rifles. I don't know where the term first originated, but I first heard it used in the Call Of Duty games. It looked like a tube under the gun barrel and would launch a grenade from there, essentially an easy to get kill with little effort.

you seem to have no idea how to use them then, only cuz you dont know how to use an ability doesnt make it bad.

Wraith, Freddy, and Bubba actually have a secret ability in their kit that no one but me and BHVR knows about. I know this because my uncle's wife's boyfriend works at BHVR.
Their secret ability is having a 90% chance of moderately/considerably/tremendously decreasing the IQ of all survivors in the trial.

His terror radius throws people off and he actually has a good slow down if you use it properly. He's also the only M1 killer that can afford to overcommit to a chase for a bit because you can teleport back and pop a gen. I think that's where his strength lies actually. The ability to be on top of a generator because it makes half the effort from the Hold W meta useless since getting dragged across from the map is useless against a Freddy. He can go back to a generator and get his reward from chasing someone.
Also as a Survivor main I think having to remove the passive down time with a Killer having to walk all the way back to interrupt a generator nearly finished is huge.

The noob tube is a FOOS, first order optimal strategy. These are strategies that have very little skill in for high positive output. They allow newer players to compete with players that have more experience. For example, the previous Spirit standstill mindgame would be considered a FOOS. A killer overall cannot really be considered a FOOS as they, usually, have high strategy ceilings in general. (or should.)

Forever Freddy sure was. The poor excuse of a killer we have now is fine.
