What were BHVR thinking with the Snowmen?
Thanks to the Snow event, I can't play Wraith because Survivors are abusing Snowmen by extending chases to ridiculous proportions thanks to being able to hide inside a Snowman and take a free hit without being injured and get distance without consequences.
This event is supposed to be fun, but it is only fun for Survivors, that much is clear. Nothing about the Snowmen favors Killers in any shape or form nor makes it even fair for them to play against. It's always Survivors, always has been and always will be. I am not asking for BHVR to make something for Killers to abuse, I am simply asking what is fair, make the Snowmen balanced, or remove them completely, simple.

Snowmen op post #504

What were they thinking...maybe...Merry Christmas players?
7 -
That is a really bad way to say Merry Christmas, really... really bad. You must be a survivor main, I assume.

I'm not trying to be bothersome in anyway. I like both roles respectively. Snowmen aren't here for balance purposes or to upset Killers. It's just seasonal fun.
Your only letting the Snowmen health state bother you because you're playing overly competitive.
Just try to chill a bit. No pun intended.

Presumably, they were thinking that people would approach the goofy snowman disguise with the goal to have fun with it, instead of creating scenarios that justify getting mad at them.

Survivors don't even interact with snowman at all in my games anymore.
If you have trouble be sure to hit the snowman in the face. Survivors always jump out through the front so by hitting them in the face they have to jump into you and make a lot less distance then if you would hit them from the back.
They barely make any distance at all if you add stbl.
Also remember snowman don't respawn if they have been used to soak up a hit so be sure to hit them even if the survivor will get away. Leaving them be just means the snowman will be back in a couple of seconds

I noticed that, like the first day or two in the event they used them like crazy. Now for the most part they ignored completely.

These posts wouldn't exist if you got damaged when the killer smacks you out of it. Personally i don't care. I just play bubba and Trickster until the event is over and people avoid the snowmen.

From what I noticed last night Deathslinger counters snowmen pretty good too.

Yeah but it's Deathslinger 🤮

That doesn't seem like reasonable advice when it only applies to one side to me. :P

And another thread as if this wasnt discussed 100 times during last couple of days.

Indeed, the Snowmen are somewhat busted and one half thought through, but they are a real event and I applaud that. The developer got their feedback and I hope that next time we will have a really cool event with something cool to do and interact with for everyone. Lets not always just (BAD WORD) on the developers, but acknowledge that they tried something new.

How Snowmen play out in 95% of solo que games: A survivor sometimes makes it into a snowman while mid chase but usually not due to the long delay jumping into one and gets hit anyways, if they make it in they take a hit and get a little distance, proceeds to get downed anyways. I fail to see Snowmen ever providing anywhere near the value that these posts are claiming them to be. Is this specific to the top 5% of red rank swf sweat squads? Because that would make more sense.

I get that a one-sided event, catering for the already favourable role is annoying, but myself as a killer main, still finds it hilarious, watching a survivor crying, bleeding and moaning in pain, slowly walking away as a snowman. It's easy meme potential, and people need to stop taking it so seriously.
It sucks, of course, but its a short-time event.

Devs dont make events = ppl whining
Devs makes events = ppl Whining again
gamers , what do you want ?? always Whining >.<
3 -
My thoughts exactly. All these people do is make a "convincing" argument by merely stating "deal with it, it's not supposed to be taken seriously" - as if that removes the fact that the Snowmen were designed with no balance whatsoever but still, survivor sided.
0 -
Is that what people are complaining about? That the devs made an event?
2 -
This "Don't take it seriously" argument is getting really old.
Imagine if Battlefield or Call of duty made a Christmas event where a single class/loadout could one-shot people just because the bullets are made of tiny Snowmen... You know, because it's all hilarious and fun and should not be taken seriously.

I assume you do see the giant, stark difference between this event and the hypothetical you just posed, right?
2 -
What you were thinking when writing this post, not the devs. I swear only the killer mains making such posts.
Dbd is my life, snowmen taking away my fun.
1 -
Nah, not really. Both are unfair situations, one is just made up and another one is real.

I play both Survivor and Killer equally, I just call out bs when I see it. These Snowmen are not balanced nor did the devs think of Killers when designing them. How do you expect Killers to react when Survivors are the only ones having fun.

In your hypothetical, there is a gigantic, huge unfair advantage to one side, to an extremely game-changing degree. In our event, two specific killers get screwed and the rest are absolutely fine.
It's still a problem that should be fixed, but the thing that's actually getting annoying is the amount of people pretending that survivors get some stark and measurable advantage out of hopping into a snowman when that's clearly not the case.

It's so even survivors that don't enjoy the snowmen just because they're funny and goofy to just try to hide in like a locker or waddle around with (I do enjoy that side of them, personally), has a reason to actually go into them once they've unlocked their cosmetics.
I absolutely guarantee that if the snowmen didn't offer some sort of safety/"benefit" there would be threads about a lack of survivors going into them, making it annoying to unlock cosmetics as killer if you didn't get it done the first 2 days or so. Not zero by any means, but a lot less. Not because they're evil and rubbing their hands together thinking about denying the killer their unlocks, but because they wouldn't have a reason to unless they just find it fun.

Fair enough, but you did admit there is a problem that needs to be fixed, that is all I wanted to hear.

We can find common ground in that Ghost Face and Twins should have their power interactions with the snowmen fixed, either in time for this event or in time for next year's event if they do this event again.
Nothing else, of course, the snowmen are a charming and harmless inclusion otherwise, but those two are suffering unnecessarily.

The free hit benefit is somewhat offset by the number of times I've seen survivors hop into a snowman while I am in a chase against someone else, and try to distract me. I simply ignore them, and lots of times they are still wandering around in the snowman a minute later. That's a long time for them to be doing nothing.
So, hit gained, but time wasted = probably a wash in the end. Smart teams though will get an advantage, but overall I see a lot of players wasting time in snowmen.

It was a fun idea and I appreciate their effort to put an new element in the game, but the devs obviously didn’t think much about the impact on killers (or they did and decided they didn’t care if it made the game more difficult for killers).

Had to play 2 games with Ghostface last night and it sucks ass snowmen cancel his power. That being said had no outcome in the game still killed who I wanted to. This game needs a spark badly...The core game gets stale sometimes and new features/additions to the game only helps with that. They should add more things to the game but when they do my cpu shorts out with all the tears running through it.
Good grief people.

They weren't thinking.
Even ignoring the health state it provides against m1, a ton of killer powers can destroy the snowman and not grant the cosmetic and you basically see only those killers now because the snowmen are simply too strong against killers who can't break it granting survivors a free hit.

I thought it was #678? Lol
