Lightborn is a valid perk
I went up against a 4 men swf who picked the Deadman saloon. Who all had 4 flashlights. And try to do that locker trick in the main building. Luckily I used lightborn to play. If I didn't then I would've got annoyed and stop playing that game.
Endgame they started cussing me out because I used lightborn and got the 4 k. Look I'm going to say if locker blinds didn't exist I wouldn't use lightborn. I play to have fun not to get bullied to a point where I don't enjoy the game.
Killer mains you shouldn't feel ashamed to use lightborn, the players your facing aren't you. So don't listen to them. (Most of them don't play killer).

Agreed. Don't let other people tell you what perks you can and can't run. Because when you say (as killer) that people can't run dead hard, they will murder you on spot for saying that.
13 -
It's never not been valid, ever. No perk is not valid, and those who shame others because they choose to play a game, they paid for, their way really need to look at their own playstyle and learn to adapt, rather than constantly try to set up various clips for YouTube compilations.

Using light born is fine that's a trend I see more often the last few weeks that survs try to manipulate our mindset to think using it is a sign of being bad so we stop using it and they can continue to bully us. I even heard that some surv main streamers encourage that cause they want to have funny content where they jest swf bully all day
4 -
All perks are valid. Go nuts.
7 -
They’re just salty because they didn’t get to have their fun bullying you. Well done!
14 -
Thank you.

I mostly watch killer mains play. Watching survivor mains are rather boring. As they use the same builds over and over or have a 4 men to help them win most of their games.
2 -
There's nothing wrong with using Lightborn. All perks are valid.
4 -
Agreed I can't complain that a killer is wasting a slot on lightborn. One less room for gen perks.
2 -
How many hours do you have? 100? I don't blame you.
I guess Lightborn the biggest waste of a perk slot is good for new players.
Lightborn actually is bad for killers because when survivors realize that, they will stop wasting time for flashlight saves etc. And what they will do? Generators.
8 -
Agreed. I think Lightborn is one of the worst perks in the game. As soon as a team full of flashlights see you have it, you no longer have a team that wants to mess around and get flashlight saves. They will all do gens as quickly as possible to spite you. Even with four flashlights, its so rarely a problem to deal with. If you down a guy, just look around for two seconds and chase the saver off for a second, turn back around and pick up. If theres ANOTHER guy then frankly no one is doing gens so who cares at that point.

I couldn't have come to this thread 15 minutes sooner? You know, before there was common sense?
As everyone's been saying, you run it if you want. Most of the survivors who give you **** for it are just ****s. I'm sure some just have a joke about it with you afterwards, because that's probably what I'd do (and I'd hope you're not taking those people the wrong way) but whatever.
The reality though, is that that game described in the OP was probably turned from a fun 4k into a boring 4k, by you running LB. I don't just mean for the survivors either. Unless you're the kind of person that gets off on that **** head power trip from seeing them try and fail to flashy save, you've made the game less fun for you too. Nobody ever escapes from trials with extreme altruism.

Scott, make a quick video about Lightborn. Show the light.

Lightborn + Franklins + Tunneling would work well against Flashlight teams and upset them. Sort of turning the cards a bit.
1 -
Well Scott I prefer having fun over being bullied. Also I don't care what you think. I don't care what your opinions is. I generally don't care about you.
Not a big waste. I stop them from blinding me and escaping. Honestly you're not me and I play how I want. Did you know those survivors cussed me out over a game just because I used lightborn. So they can't locker blind me. God I hate people with this mindset. Killers are allowed to use any perk they want.
Also I been playing for 5 years and if I use lightborn sometime survivor threatened my life because I refuse to let them to bully me.
13 -
lmao that was the most completely unnecessarily antagonistic response I have ever seen, thank you for the chuckle.
16 -
Oh are you making fun of me for being disabled?
0 -
i promise that was not the sweet burn you thought it was. for the record, i don't even know if you disagreed with me. you have more fun when people just genrush you because they can't attempt blinds? i'd rather get blinded than not play the game at all, but to each their own. either way have a good night
9 -
I have scoliosis, and a rare disorder where my skull pressed against my spine causing me miserable back pain. So no it's not a sweet burn I'm just being honest. Also it doesn't matter gen gets done quickly regardless. The game is literally unbalanced and again I don't care what your opinion is.
3 -
While that sounds super awful to deal with, what on Earth does that have to do with anything we are talking about? I am also trying to help you. If you think gens go fast, they will go even faster with Lightborn because people with flashlights won't try to save anymore. Learning to deal with flashlights with skill is a better choice in my opinion. Either way it just sounds like you are unhappy with the game in general so I'm not sure what the point is.
12 -
…Not sure how he could possible have known that, nor how he made fun of it.
As for OP’s situation, good for you. I really don’t see how Lightborn was a wasted slot there. At some point, just one LB interaction in your favour is enough to gain momentum. This locker play completely shut down their play, which would’ve been miserable for you otherwise. They won’t be doing gens more than they would without a flashlight, and chances are they designed their builds around the thing they were trying to do as well. All in all, good stuff, I’d say.
7 -
My point is this people shouldn't be ashamed or threaten to play how they want. They don't need you tell them how to play. Let them play themselves. Also I sacrificed one perk for a 4 k seems like a smart idea to me
0 -
What is happening?
7 -
Thank you for agreeing.
1 -
Sorry I honestly don't like Scott. And I giving people my honest opinion
2 -
An overreaction it seems.
4 -
I like and play Lightborn for simply having a better time as a Killer. Just a comfort perk.
4 -
How can they go even faster? Surely if those flashlight gamers return to the gens, it goes to “normal fast”, opposed to even faster than normal, if that makes any sense.
In most scenarios, I’ll give you that it won’t do much for you. In OP’s situation, however, they seem to have gotten a free hook from a locker grab that couldn’t be blinded, with another potential hit on the other survivor not realising he had Lightborn in time. I don’t see how LB was a waste of a slot in this specific scenario. They won’t try again, sure, but it made the killer’s game vastly more bearable to actually play no?
9 -
Good! That's also the point I was trying to make
4 -
Where was I shaming anyone for using Lightborn? I actually think the perk sucks and was just trying to explain why
3 -
Lightborn will only become invalid when flashlights get fixed where they cant blind at weird angles or in spots that a blind is not valid like through a boarded up window in the shack or during a locked animation. If a killer is locked in a pickup or break animation then they shouldn't get blinded until then I'll use lightborn WITH ALL FLASHLIGHTS I SEE HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
4 -
Agreed. Just a comfort perk to get genrushed.
0 -
Well it's an unwinnable argument on both sides. There is no telling how many future flashlight saves people may have tried which might have slowed the game even more. It's all just a matter of opinion anyway.
2 -
It sucks for entitled survivors yes.
2 -
Sometimes that happends even when you play the most optimal meta builds + best add-ons on any killer. It will happen less offten for sure but still, happends.
I don't play for win, I play for having a good time and to have fun & decent games. Sometimes I get 4K, sometimes 2K, sometimes 0K like any other killer.
1 -
I refuse to use it as well as franklins because I might as well play with 3 perks instead.
But if it helps you more than other perks use it I guess. Others shouldn't dictate your builds.
1 -
He appears to have a grudge against you personally, he comes out very aggressively towards you for simply disagreeing and then calls you out for insulting him for a condition you had no possible way of knowing he had.
5 -
Id rather have all 4 survivors keep trying to flashlight save then them do all the gens wicked fast. Knowing when to push them off of the body and pick up safely is a valid mindgame. And I've won many games because of the survivors spending time on flashlight saves. It also just generally doesn't give me enough value as a perk. Most stuff with flashlights can be avoided and lightborne does nothing for like wraith since its a lightburn not blind. So I'll pass.
0 -
Don't listen to daily he's just entitled survivor main. As long as you enjoy the game way your fine
1 -
Thinking about it, if I get Lightborn in my mix I often hide the fact I have it, so of someone tries to blind I'll look away, leaving them thinking I don't have it, but in return I am protected and get the aura ability, which can be overlooked as a good effect.
If I were to just deathstare the flashlight, then survivors would leave it, but by leaving them to think I don't have it gets a lot more value out of it.
3 -
You get genrushed regardless. Besides most flashlight squads hate afking on gens, so forcing them to do it is a win itself. What they really want is to toy with the killer before escaping.
My question is why waste a perk slot on Lightborn when you can just dodge and let them rot in queue?
2 -
Smart tactic. That's what I do
5 -
i'm sorry but needing your usage of a perk in a game to be validated is the most pathetic ######### i've ever heard
2 -
Waste a perk slot even though I got a 4 k. I don't see how I waste a perk slot if I got the 4 k
0 -
Also anyone who is saying "You can easy counter flashlights and if you get blinded it is your fault usualy because you didn't look / didn't pay attention" is wrong. Yes, sometimes it is your fault but I remember I got and saw many times Killers get blinded even when they looked away, even when their whole screen was in front of big wall. Also there is that locker play where someone can blind you while you opening a locker, etc.
5 -
That's the main reason why I bring light born
0 -
Feeling ashamed?! Why would I? For were the developers are leading the game, basement Bubba or """scummy""" tactics/perks are becoming the normality, so there is no need to feel ashamed for using such perks.
3 -
Mmm that's your opinion. I used it and after I got the 4 k they cussed me out and threatened my life over a ######### video game. I'm simply telling people you can play anyway you want, so don't let others tell you how to play.
2 -
For the people saying they use it for comfort or ease of play, I want to say again like I did before, you use what you want to use. That said, I believe I have a fundamentally different attitude when I play killer. If I want to have a relaxing experience, I'll play as survivor. As survivor, not only am I influencing only 12.5% of the outcome of the game, but most of the time I'm not doing anything where I can make a mistake or have to try hard. As killer, that IS NOT THE EXPERIENCE. I fundamentally don't understand playing as killer and wanting a relaxing experience. You're influencing 50% of the game and you're always doing something where you can screw up. If you want to play killer to relax, that's fine. You do you. That's not my personal killer experience though.

that second half should go without saying but a lot of people here need it to be said ig lol. also, can't you just hide the endgame chat?
