banned for 2 hours for first time DC?!
######### is this #########. my first time playing the game in 4 months and i get banned for 2 hours for DC'ing one time?! that is completely ridiculous. what happened to a 5 minute ban? didnt even DC for a bad purpose just had to get offline for a second. I forgot the reason why i didnt play this game for 4 months and was soon reminded why. completely awful service to the players

That's really odd indeed. Afaik first dc is still only 5 minutes.

Are you sure it wasn’t your first time? Or is it a bug I don’t know about?
1 -
I could be mistaken, but I THIIIIINK the penalty doesn't regress unless you are actually playing the game. So if you had a high penantly just before you took a 4-month hiatus, you'd still be on the hook for that if you return (assuming that is indeed how it works).

Imagine you get a perma ban because you're forced to dc due to a bug. Don't come here complaining, because the ban is gonna be deserved despite the length.

..
Still rather see the dc times not be randomized and have permanent bans, My internet cut out randomly after a month of working just fine with no dcs but ive been randomly permanently banned due to bad luck^2
Not a good idea

What if a hacker makes you DC? What if someone is body blocking you in a corner and all you can do is DC?
1 -
imagine literally being held hostage by a hacker only to get perma banned for not wanting to sit through the 2 hour timer
what a good idea!!
2 -
Shoulda thoughta that before you entered a game without your hacker shield. /s

DCs would not go down to nearly 0%.

Imagine conveniently forgetting all the times the offending user DC'd of their own accord which escalated their timer to the hypothetical # of DC's that would warrant a permaban.

Read through the previous comments on the thread, particularly the ones about being assigned random ban times regardless of previous disconnects, very carefully okay darling?

They were referring to this post in particular:

Make the first DC 5 minutes, the second 10, and then every DC afterwards is a random amount, from 10 minutes to an hour or more.
But not perma.
People don't get griefed enough to hit that cap; it can only happen if someone is deliberately DCing.
'But what if I have bad internet!?" Then why are you playing a PvP game where your teammates ability to win or lose is based on if you can stay in a match?
'So I can't play if my internet sucks? That's selfish!" Expecting your teammates to put up with you crashing because you're 5 minutes of fun before your internet cuts out AGAIN is more important than them having a match where their teammates don't scrub out, is so stupidly selfish that there are no words. Think of the other players, and play something else.

not sure i but i havent played the game in 4 months so idk if they kept a log of times i DC more than 4 months ago. i think thats crazy that it doesnt reset after a 4 month period

Thats abnormal if its the first time

You feel then need to leave match just walk away and there will be no timeout.

You quoted this: "If I learned someone was perma banned due to DCing I'd never DC. Pros outweigh the cons"
I saw his other posts about random timers. Random timers and perma-bans are two independent ideas and there was no indication that either of you were lumping them together.
I responded within the appropriate context, darling :).

Except they weren't. And if they were, they did a very poor job quoting.

The appropriate context is the entire thread, you're trying to start an argument on a ground that vanished due to climate change three decades ago and failing quite terribly
Anyway stan Bruno

They very clearly were, as confirmed by the poster in question confirming it.

This is #1. This is the idea about randomized timers that you're trying to slip your way into.
This is the trigger. Note @breadtube said nothing about a perma ban in his first post. @Bwsted assumed it was a possibility on the table. Which could be fair, I guess, except it's a big reach.
The response, note Bread is not referencing DC due to a bug, he is likely talking about an intended DC, and he is not connecting his randomizer idea to the perma ban idea. The randomizer and perma idea are on the same thread, and involve the same user, but unless bread is a psycho it's pretty clear the two ideas aren't joined at the hip (Please don't be a psycho, bread :))
Also, I'm not trying to start an argument. I was pretty tongue in cheek, and was only looking to mock your overreaction, or lack of reading comprehension. The fact that you threw in losing your mind and turned that twopher into a ménage à trois is just icing.
@TAG, saw the notification that you responded. I'm not doing this a second time so whatever you responded with, you can have this post too.

Once more you're trying to start an argument you won't win for argument's sake on the basis of nothing, because... what, you want to? Like I've made my point clear, I was responding to the comments made in this thread, and chose the most recent one to quote. I get being pedantic about these things, but there's pedantic and then there's trying to hold everyone to a standard nobody but yourself has, as evidenced by other people in the thead understanding exactly what I mean.
Anyway darling it's been fun but next time you wanna start an argument make sure you actually have a side to defend first
and remember to stan bruno xx

Other people also misread, is the conclusion you should be drawing. You can also go ahead and quote better in the future if you don't like being harped on. But I'm glad you're learning! Even if you won't admit it, that's okay.
If I wanted to be pedantic, I'd have focused on your missing punctuation. Reading comprehension and not automatically assuming the most extreme interpretations based on someone's multiple posts is a valid concern.

Tl;dr.

You are trying way too hard to justify the fact that you just didn't bother to read the reply chain.
5 -
I gave you an up vote, because the way you stick to your guns when wrong is just really admirable.

its kinda cute how you go on about how we refuse to admit where we're wrong, when i guess it's never occured that maybe- just maybe- you could be in the wrong instead
3 -
this fits here too

Since you've both resorted to filler comments, I'll put the meat and potatoes back here if you want to keep at it: Reading comprehension and not automatically assuming the most extreme interpretations based on someone's multiple posts is a valid concern.
If all you're looking for is the last word go ahead and take it. It's a fair consolation prize after all :)
But you can only have it if you throw up some more animated GIF's that you use whenever you want to hide your irritation.

it's shocking of you to say that because this is my evening entertainment, not frustration
