Change for BBQ and chili

Ok.....so we have camping and we have hook rushers. BBQ was meant as an incentive to go away from hook, and to chase someone that you could see further away. The reality is, that if they dont see 3 other people, they will just stay at the hook.

As a survivor this is annoying. But so are people who farm the people on the hook and do unsave rescues just because they can for points.

So why not change BBQ in that it actually highlights the persons within 10 metres of the hook or so instead of the people far away? If the killer doesnt see anyone highlighted, he knows no one is near and he will have to leave. If he does see someone, i as a survivor dont mind see this person being punished for trying to hook farm the person on the hook.

To me it seems like a fair partly solution to two problems in the game. Off course there will always be campers that would still stand with the hook although no one is there at the moment of the hooking. But at least it would be more incentive to go gen patrolling again. And it would also punish people who hookrush more.

It's a valid strategy to sneak up behind the Killer as they put someone on a hook, wait for them to leave, then whisk them down real quick. I can say that I almost never see all 3 other Survivors when I hook one, but that's fine, just circle the area around hook for ~10 seconds to check if they're hiding in obvious spots then give up and go defend your Genies. At the end of the day if someone camps they'll lose the game. That said, making it 30m rather than 40m would be nice, and making the vision a little more vivid so that a survivor that's directly behind or on a Genie isn't somewhat invisible in the brief moments you have to glance around at them all.

Out of the vast amount of things this game needs fixed, BBQ isn't one of them. It's literally probably one of the farthest things from needing a fix if we we're to apply scales to things.

For sure, I was just saying it'd be nice to see a little better, but maybe it's cause when I hook someone I immediately cloak and that messes up my vision slightly as well thus seeing people is rather hard, #JustWraithThings

    10 meters is litrally nothing.

Also if you dont see the aura far away from the hook, are you supposed to just leave the hook and serach randomly?

Implement your suggestion and you will see more campers than in the current state

    It won't work.

The strength of BBQ is to coax killers to chase someone new so they can get more stacks, and more points.
It won't happen if everyone is outside the radius, and the killer don't know where.
It's like running a shittier version of Whispers with a BP bonus.

The failing is generally on the survivors for being in range to have their auras not be seen.
Especially on Leatherface. I mean what else is he going to run?

Because if no one is within 10 metres there won't be anyone to highlight. That in turn means the Killer has no idea where the other 3 Survivors are and so they'd have to take that risk of leaving you on the hook with zero guarantee of finding another survivor soon as they'll have to search blind (which isn't all that difficult either but it sure helps if you know exactly where a Survivor was 10 seconds ago as you dash over to em).

I'd be fine if it showed the closest Survivor on the map for 5 seconds or if its radius was reduced from 40 metres to 30 metres, as currently when I don't see all 3 Survivors when I hook someone I do exactly this; I circle the hook's immediate vicinity. If no one is there I circle slightly further in a circle. If no one is there either I will walk away from the hook BACKWARDS and watch for if someone jogs out and unhooks the person. If I see someone at any of these points I will deck them and chase leaving any other Survivor to unhook the other one, because I don't mind them getting off the hook it's not having any prey to chase that makes me want to stay and at least secure one rather than running off into the night. If no one appears after all that I'll finally turn and start checking my area's Genies.

So yes, I think the Aura reading ability on BBQ'n'Chilli could be slightly better, but at the same time it works good enough as is and buffing or messing with it could create an imbalance we don't need, for the moment we should look at buffing/changing WGLF to be better and more generous in how it rewards Survivors with bonus exp rather than changing the Killer's already reliable bonus exp source.

I think BBQ is well balanced, a fair perk.

if i dont see 3 ppl with BBQ, i go and check the gens as its very likely that they just were hiding behind them. and most of the time they are.
BBQ is perfectly fine as it is, please dont suggest a rework of probaply the most balanced perk we have atm, thank you!
