Comparison of custom resolutions 1920x1080 - 1440x1080 - 1280x1024 - 1080x1080
Why game engine renders a lot more vertical field of view with decreasing horizontal resolution in a game where angle and field of view mean everything? The game is out since 2016 and people ask this already 5 years.
BTW, special hi for people with 16:9 to ultrawide monitors stating "it seems smoother for me" and "I like the visuals better" and "it provides no FOV advantage" and "I need such resolutions because my PC is weak". Real intelligence elite. 😉

This is so ######### busted, I've seen some stretched res but having a comparaison like this, I always called stretched res a cheat and it confirms it.

The worst part is you just don't even know. You could be thinking damn this survivor is good but really they're getting hard carried by this #########.

It just looks better. I want it on console.
Jokes aside, what I wouldn't be ashamed of doing is making a game brighter because I barely see anything on some maps.

900x1080 is the god res. Do that one for some truly busted FOV

As an artist I can tell Dwight in the bottom pic has the most correct proportion.
The Width resolution defines the Length.

And the devs never are going to fix that, they are in the surv side, of course is the side of the money

I've seen as extreme as 600x1080 used seriously. It looked like nintendo stuff of the '90s. Kinda funny, ngl.

Lately I've been spectating my team mates more and have noticed a LOT running stretched resolution. It's easy to tell because they basically just look at the floor because of how stretched it is on their end. It's disgusting.

for like, comp stuff i get using stretched but god making your visual experience actively worse for a video game advantage is so pathetic outside of that

I honestly really enjoy vanity mirror myers as you can really abuse wall hack in 16m radius. And in tiles with walls (quite common) they mostly mind game themselves.
But its really a lot of survivors, who clearly look down and know ur exact spot due to this beautiful thing.
I doubt it they will fix it. And if BHVR feel sad that they look like amateurs, well…they should
