Is this normal when killer just AFK and my grade progress is decreased

For some reason, Mr. Bubba AFK all time of the match and I had to play 4 minutes of gens repair simulator. He only started to play when 5 gens had done and my grade progress was decreased ??? ( sorry, my English sucks )

    Far as I know grade progress can't decrease and is just a visual remnant from the previous system.

    This however is certainly a valid point to address.
