Clown nerf, but nothing to blight? lmao
First of all I know I said I was going to stay away from the community and I lied (partially). I have quit other games for the same crap that behavior is doing right now, targeting parts of the game that nobody asked for. As example path of exile, they literally butchered part of their community and paid a heavy price for it. I don't know if behavior has the same idea of wanting to take their game into a different direction and if it is, I'm sorry to tell you devs! Its not going to work in the long term, you are seriously going to kill your game.
I am actually fed up at this point and really disappointed the the approach the developers are taking. Todays patch notes have me absolutely scratching my head wondering why clown was nerfed yet blight is literally untouched? LMAO. Clowns busted perk gets changed however blights is just ignored? (Alchemists ring). I'm seriously done with this game and its direction, I wont be sitting idly by and ignoring crap in this game like CoH and pretending like everythings okay.
All in all I'm glad I got my monies worth but I will not be wasting my time with this dumpster fire, Good luck Behavior.

Clown's busted perk got nerfed but two of his others got buffed.

I don't even understand why they are nerfing Pinky Finger. Clown himself is very weak, that addon is arguably the only thing that makes him somewhat viable at the highest level of play.
And I really do find it kind of hilarious that not even Alchemist Ring is getting nerfed. However, they have stated that there might be some changes in the upcoming patch that haven't been mentioned in the update. And I surely do hope so. I am still playing this game at the moment, too frequently honestly, but I am really, really getting sick and tired of CoH. If that perk doesn't get nerfed in the upcoming patch, I will probably play the game much less, or just take a break from it again.

The developers do not want killers to compete at the highest level because they hand hold potato survivors. That's who the game is balanced around. Same reason they nerfed pinheads eng fang. The game is ######### joke at the moment at high mmr. Killer gets 2-3 hooks and games lasting 4 minutes then tbag at exit gates. I hate how the devs coddle survivors in this game.

I don't know why they are nerfing Flask Of Bleach. It's not even that powerful.

there are lots of buffs toward killers in this mid chapter update, but pinky finger deserved that nerf. too many ######### clowns spamming bottles and direct hits are way too easy to get especially if the survs get hindered. and yeah, real disappointed that alchemist ring didn't even get looked at.

Balancing is done entirely around Stats.
Killers who are hard for most people to play, like Nurse or Blight do not get nerfed. Once you DO know how to play them, they are unstoppable, but most players don't know how and the killers have very low average stats (despite absurd high end performance).
Killers who are easy for most people to play, like Freddy or Clown, do get nerfed. Most people can pick up the killer, use their power reasonably well, and do passably at low levels. At high levels, these killers get destroyed, but the good low performance means median stats.
The game is being balanced around the worst possible performance survivors can possibly generate, and high end games are completely ignored.

That first sentence of yours already makes 0 sense. If they wanted to hand hold potato survivors, why nerf killers so they don't compete at the highest level? Pretty sure potato survivors don't play there.
Camping and tunneling are two of the biggest problems for less experienced survivor players. Nothing has been done about that in many years. I also hope you realise that a large amount of people that play this game aren't that experienced. Certainly not among the top level players. The game needs to be balanced around those people as well, not only, but also.
This game certainly has it's balance issues, especially at high level play, with gens going fast and maps being badly balanced. But it's not a problem of BHVR only caring about survivors.

it wasn't busted. the clown needed to land bottles and an m1 hit consecutively. saying add-on is busted is saying every killer that has base-kit instant down is unfair and that is simply not true.

I have a feeling that will be a good portion of the community tomorrow. My honest opinion, I don’t think it’s going to go to well considering the buffs / nerfs they wanted to “highlight”.
I just hope I can beat my addiction this time and stay away from this game.

I am just confused about the Clown change because it doesn't really address face camping, but it will still be just as strong in that context... So, they like nerfed the fun version of it, but kept the cringe version. Pretty weird.

They really should just stop nerfing stuff, just start buffing everything that is underperforming or is not being used. Let the circular imbalance sort itself out.

I’m not against the pinky nerf at all even though it is kind of busted, but just blows my mind how there are a few other broken addons that go untouched ie alchemist ring and tricksters exposure iri addon. At this point everything behaviors doing lately is pretty much cringeworthy, other than the actual few decent perk buffs.

Clown anything isn't really busted tbh and it's an addon not a perk. Even after his rework and buffs he's still easily one of the worst killers in the game with pretty much any loadout.

That's how I know you're not very good at the game. Don't worry, 95% of the killer playerbase is in the same boat as you. (I don't support the Clown nerfs btw, just pointing out that still considering Clown to be a weak killer after his overhaul is a sign of prejudicial ignorance and lack of practice.)

Uh huh, so when I see multiple killers mains with many thousands of hours who have competed in tournaments say that he is a weak killer I should ignore them and instead believe Joe shmo on the forums. I played clown a decent bit after his rework and don't get me wrong he is better he's know longer in contention for the worst killer in the game but he's no where near the top.
I can say that I played almost 800 hours of killer alone and that I certainly wasn't the best killer but I wasn't bad by any stretch of the imagination but whatever man keep coping.

I agree he’s not a great killer typically. With Pinkie he wasn’t one of the worst though, he was actually pretty good because of the instant downs. Still not top tier or anything, but good.

I play him and have used add-on with great accuracy to down one survivor with 4 bottles every time. The point is that clown is still beatable with add-on therefore it is not unfair. I have escaped vs pinky finger clowns, even had long game winning chases vs them. As long as you utilize loops properly, clown is not really a threat.
well good job at weakening low-tier killer did not deserve negative changes.

I don't disagree and honestly, my issue isn't that pinkie finger got nerfed. My problem is more with why they decided to, in the same patch, nerf 2 clown addons and buff a blight addon, which is still gonna be awful anyway. It's the direction this patch is leading the game that I have a massive problem with, namely just looking at what has high use rates and what has low use rates and balancing around that and it being an overall super lazy patch only made it worse

I don't think it was a "lazy patch", there are a ton of Nurse fixes as well that weren't mentioned in the update. (Not that I play Nurse but I'm guessing Nurse mains will be happy about all the fixes.)

honestly I'm sure those bug fixes have been cooking for months or longer and I mean credit where credit is due but I'd still say it was pretty lazy since them fixing a killer that's been broken for years doesn't seem like something that deserves a gold star

Clown was clearly OP and overperforming. It likely bothered survivors a lot when they got a clown, expected a free win, and then found out he had pinky finger and could be a threat. Now that won't be an issue! :)

Sad part is hitting someone directly with a bottle is only the survivors fault. Even if the clown has his finger up your bot there is a substantial delay on the bottle hitting. Simply wiggling will prevent the bottles landing a direct hit.

I like the pinky fingers nerf it was always unfun to play against, but at same time the clown himself needs a buff.

Problem is missing compensation. It is okay to nerf problematic add-ons but Clown got nothing in return and just another nerf to one of his few good add-ons. It is the same as with Deathslinger: Slinger was in need for a nerf to that insta-shooting but everybody knew that the old guy was not a good Killer to begin with. The insta-shoot was the only thing keeping him fun for people and when they took that away and left him with nothing well...guess what, Slinger just got less funny to play.

heavily disagree bottles are impossible to direct hit unless you spam in their face but the counter is to just do what you do with iri hatchets and crouch/360 and try to be unpredictable so they miss every shot because the throwing ark for clown is scuffed as f and you even miss bottles at point blank cuz of the slow airtime of them so the addon got the treatment that the other exposure addons are going to get/already gotten just look at any killers addons on the wiki and look at the past effect and you will notice most likley it was way better (please don't mention tombstone idk why they buffed it 3 times and never nerfed it (we take those) they usually get nerfed or changed cuz of the complaining. just remember no matter how much you nerf something killer mains will always find a way to combine stuff and make it stronger (remember trapper sack)

They nerf killers because those who can compete at a high level will completely demolish any lower skilled survivors they face. This isn’t “fun” for survivors who don’t learn the game, so killers get nerfed.
Camping and tunneling exist because the devs don’t know how to solve their own broken design. It isn’t that the devs like survivors better, it’s that they don’t understand their game or how it is played at high level, so they think that killer is too powerful.

Let's be clear, and feel free to look through my history if you don't believe me. I have in these forums advocated for reducing Blight to a 4.4 meter killer from a 4.6 m/s killer. However, don't go mixing 2 unrelated issues together. If you feel that Blight should be nerfed than create a discussion about Blight getting nerfed, If you feel that Clown should be buffed then create a topic about Clown being buffed. But complaining about Clown nerfs and then going WhatabouttheBlight is annoying and a logical fallacy.

Balancing around high MMR means balancing the game around the existence of SWF. And they are explicitly NOT making the game any harder for any survivor player just because SWF makes the game easier. The (recently outlined) plan is to keep buffing solo survivors again and again until the low tier survivors get closer to the high tier ones.
There are no stated plans to adjust the holistic killer experience in any positive way beyond sometimes slightly tweaking the worst perks/addons for specific killers, every so often.
