Use the kill switch?

They have the system to disable outfits/items/addons/offerings, why doesn't BHVR just disable Leatherface's masks right now if it's really such an issue? Because I'd be more glad if they got rid of it now instead of warning people about it first.

The killswitch is reserved for things that break up gameplay.

Cosmetics working as intended (I.E not making Survivors invisible) don't fall under that category.

What's the issue with warning people about it? It's not like people have a stockpile of masks that they've been waiting to use, like we saw with Iridescent add-on nerfs in the past.

honestly i see why you'd want this, but also it's only ever used when things completely break the game. i feel like they don't want to set a precedent that anything being changed/removed in an upcoming update should be killswitched, and also give some time for those that use those cosmetics for... non-nefarious purposes a chance to say goodbye.

I guess that's true, it's not bugged. But anytime they announce changes, it causes a small influx of excess use before the change goes through (keys, moris, Iri-Head, etc.)

I'm just afraid that more people will be using the mask in a bad way before since it's going to go away

You honestly raise a disturbing point. I expect there's going to be an uptick of this, including from people who never did this before or were even aware there was an issue, as a form of protest.

    Blegh.
