New Dead Man's Switch With Freddy
So if you haven't seen the new Dead Man's Switch changes, I'll post them below:
"The Obsession condition of this perk makes it very inconsistent to use, and also severely limits the number of times it can activate in a match. So it’s gone! Now, Dead Man’s Switch will activate whenever any Survivor is hooked."
So while this perk is still going to pretty much remain useless, I want to point out something that is a bit abusive in relations to a certain killer with a certain addon.
Freddy is notorious for being a really annoying killer to face due to how he can just teleport across the map at any time, and how boring his power is to really go against. He's not good in a fun way to many players essentially.
While this perk is not something that is encouraging a playstyle for every killer, and this perk will not see much play (in my opinion), I just want to bring up that extremely mobile killers such as Nurse, Blight, and most importantly, Freddy, can quite literally use this perk in an extremely annoying way.
I bring this to your attention because I believe this is a step in a horrible direction for Freddy Krueger as a killer. It sounds dramatic, it does, but using class photo and this new changed perk when it drops on Freddy Krueger, combined with Tinkerer and Pop (two perks that can be abused by Freddy greatly), this is encouraging the playstyle with Freddy Krueger that many despise and wish was different.
I'm not saying "muh muh, broken, revert", because this perk is still pretty awful. I'm just bringing up that using this perk with a combined set of other perks on Freddy is going to be extremely annoying for people to deal with, especially with class photo. At this rate, the only way to fix Freddy is a rework, and perks like these are making that more and more apparent. It's very sad.

I'm pretty sure DMS doesn't reset it's self on each hook so if you get two fast hooks it won't work.
Besides that there are only a few killers that will be able to make use out of DMS. High mobility, Freddy, demo, and artist.
On Freddy once you get DMS off once with class photo people will realize what you are doing and just stay on the gen or let go before you hook.
People have complained about how broken artist will be with DMS but I've been running DMS with nemesis and doing the same thing. The only difference is I won't need nemesis. Survivors will just let go of the gen before you hook then wait for you to launch the birds or work on a gen that's above or below artist.
So I don't think it will be meta

The perk doesn’t say anything about a cooldown so it probably works like Pop in that it resets every hook.

Dark devotion doesn't have a cool down either yet you can't use it back to back

I’ll take your word on Dark Devotion not resetting. Maybe Dark Devotion and Pop work differently because one triggers on hits and the other on hooks?

Unless they change something on the ptb current dms does not reset on hook. I remember testing that with a couple of friends because I was curious.

They should not rework Freddy. They should bring back old version.

As a Freddy main myself, I can say it's probably a wait and see type of situation. I'm not a huge fan of using slowdown perks that require a hook to activate considering survivors can play around it thereby nullifying your perk.
My question would be is when does the timer for blocking the gens actually start? Let's say I hook someone and then scare someone off a gen 20-30 seconds later. Does the gen then lock for the full time or just the remaining time? if it's the full time, I can see this being strong. If it's only the remaining time, a smart survivor should just stay on their gen until they actually see Freddy.
