Discussing Cheaters - Is There An Alternative?

I'm sure I speak for everyone here when I state that cheaters ruin the game experience in many ways. While I personally now find it funny to see someone cheating, especially when they're flying as Ghostface throwing axes at people, it's not funny to experience. I'm not talking about cheating in bloodpoints, or cheating in prestige levels, I could not care less about people who have lives and just cannot grind like others can.

But my question is, this game has been out for a pretty long time, and now, at least in my experience, I have seen a surge in cheaters. How come other issues such as Boiled Over not being seen at higher level gameplay is more important than literal cheaters who are ruining the experience for everyone? This surge of cheating that I have experienced seems to have come from the time when this game was free on Epic Games.

Normally I wouldn't care about cheating too much, and I'm beginning to just lose faith in talking about it since nothing really seems to work. It's not my place to discuss game development. I am not a game developer, and this is not my job, so I can't really discuss what can be done.

All I'm asking is, will there be something done in the future--and is there even anything that can be done in relations to cheating that will affect the game in a positive manner. I'm all for other gameplay changes, like balances to solo queue, and buffs to certain killers who are too underpowered. But in my opinion, this is not something that should be put in the backseat. Cheating should be fixed first. It's the most important thing that needs to be addressed.

It's not about how many cheaters you encounter in a match, some find them more than others. But the problem persists when, like I said earlier, it's so effortlessly easy to cheat in this game. I feel this is why it's done so much. I'm sure something--even a minor action can be taken to fix these problems. Cheating will always exist. You can't ever stop it fully. But surely, there has to be some measure that can be taken right?
