It's been a long time and still can't chat between platforms within the game. Only from pc to pc and those of consoles by the means of each console

I doubt it's due to the consoles themselves, more likely because DBD doesn't support M&K on them, and adding that apparently is quite a pain and not coming either.
Also I doubt PCrs are willing to stick around for 14min while I type out something with the controller.
