Final PTB notes are out. And we were all right!
Absolutely nothing is being done about boons or CoH. Only mindless killer nerfs. But hey, atleast we have a new way to wiggle. I Guess I will keep the game uninstalled for this midchapter aswell.

It's operation Health. The ######### that goes unnoticed by most people because it's not big and flashy. I have no idea why they didn't lead with this.

Nothing about any changes/reworks (not even full addon reworks) to any killers either. I'm not gonna reinstall/uninstall the entire game twice to test out distortion with 4 stacks...

Aren’t we kinda forgetting the Nurse fixes (fix attempts) and the fact they actually acknowledged cheaters here and apparently fixed something in that regard? Also Hit feedback for Dead Hard was apparently improved.

don’t get me wrong, CoH needed a nerf as well. But there has been great stuff that was not mentioned in the dev news prior. And little naive me hopes they see and react to the CoH nerf pleads for the live update…

I expected a little more than "Nurse is fixed, DH hit validation is partially fixed". Oh, but there is a bullet point about some cheating issues, which is great. But do we need a PTB for this?

This means that I am pretty excited for the PTB.
Also Nurse fixes. People have been asking for that for...well ever? and here they are. Also game health seemed to be an issue and they are slowly addressing it. I hope that they do many updates on this front.
Remember, this is a mid-chapter patch. Should be just a few tweaks and nothing major I guess even if I would have prefered Ghostface add-on pass for sure. Well, hope we get that for Scream 2022!

Exactly. I was pleasantly surprised to see the Nurse-Fixes. Because it took them so long for DH to be working with Dedicated Servers, I thought a whole Killer-Power might take way longer. My Nurse-games are mostly bugfree, I only sometimes have the Bug that I cannot use my M1 after a Blink.
But from reading here I know that others have more severe Bugs with here and if those get fixed, this is great.

PTBs are not for testing anyway IMO. They are for creating Hype. But without any meaningful content in form of new things or bigger Reworks (mainly for Powers), there is not really much to do.
So just dont download it, I will also not download the PTB this time.

Is Haddonfield only disabled for PTB or is that going to be in the live version too? Trickster says for PTB and it'll be fixed in release but Haddonfield just says it's disabled with the Strode key.

For me this is the most disappointing patch since I started playing this game in the Patch 2.2.0, spirit release patch, september 2018.
No Legion and Ghostface changes.
Removal of Bubba cosmetics.
Unnecesary killer addons nerfs (one of them The Twins What the F).
No CoH nerf (I don't mention the necessary Dead Hard nerf because that perk seems to be the pretty-boy son of BHVR).

As nice as nurse bug fixes and pinhead getting his lines back are. It's still the issue of getting rather minor changes in a mid chapter patch.
Boons still have no real counterplay and coh is still dumb and that's not going to change for another 3 months because that's how bhvr operates.
Really underwhelming mid chapter considering it's the main time for balance changes.

Yeah, my Xbox One X is still locked at sub-30 FPS and freezes everytime something important happens.

Bug fixes and optimization is great but that doesn't mean look past nonsensical changes for twins, clown and nemesis while Blight gets to zoom by untouched.

Looking over the dev updates it reeks of "quick wins" to satiate consumers. Outside of the whole beta framework at least.

People always ask for health chapters, this is what they look like. Good bugfixes but gameplay wise not changing much.

It’s just mind-boggling. I have no idea where the devs are getting their feedback from. The only issue that they are addressing that I’ve seen regularly brought up on forums is the maybe potential buff of solo queue. Everything else is stuff that seems to be coming out of nowhere, and major issues like CoH being completely ignored. I’ve tried to maintain positive feelings about the game, but this continued pattern of ignoring feedback, particularly from people who play killer, confirms for me that they don’t play their own game much and they certainly don’t prioritize making the game enjoyable or even tolerable for killer players. I play both sides about equally and CoH has made it massively easier on the survivor side, like night and day difference from before it was introduced. My experience is not unique. The only conclusion I can draw is that the devs are ignoring this obviously broken perk because they don’t want to turn off the bulk of their revenue base, which is SWF players. For them to not even mention it in this update tells us everything we need to know. If you play killer, you are merely a facilitator for SWF enjoyment.

Calm down. At least we had another Pig nerf. It's been too long, I was almost losing hope that the devs wouldn't keep the Pig nerfs going.

Grim Pantry (maybe Pale Rose too) have new, glowing skulls added, in the live version. Most likely because of the upcoming visual rework for the swamp maps. Haddonfield and Red Forest maps haven't had visual reworks yet either, so my guess is that Swamp maps + Haddonfield are getting visual updates soon-ish and Haddonfield was disabled because it's in the process of being updated.

I agree. It has great changes for the quality of the game but why two patch notes….they kinda built it up to be like last midchapter and it wasn’t. Oh well a bit of blue balls but a step in the right direction.

I wouldn't be surprised if the fix for "cheaters" was actually for the people save injecting instead of people actually using scripts to move 300% speed as survivor.

Seriously, COH completely destroys hit & run and actively encourages tunnelling as one of the only viable strategies. Is that really what we want?

I will readily admit that I've been harping on the need to fix Nurse bugs that have been in place for what .. 3 years now? So I'll give the devs credit for that.
Of course, they then lose some credit for nerfing Twins and Clown, ignoring how broken boon totems are etc. I'm interested in the Dead Hard change and whether it resolves the "Dead hard eating a Killer's power" like the Nemmy pallet issue - if so, that's also quite a big positive.
The rest? Aside from the QoL changes not much of it makes sense.

Hit and run was never viable against a good team. CoH didn't change that. I think CoH is really hurting killers who aren't snuffing the totems. Obviously totems aren't always obvious, but it is always an efficiency gain as a killer to snuff a totem a survivor spent time lighting. I can only speak for myself, but boons haven't been a huge factor in my killer games unless they're in an extremely obtuse spot that also happens to be central in the map.

Nothing about this patch is healthy to the overall balance of the game as long as CoH is allowed to exist in its current state.
