BHVR's lack of action indirectly promotes the bullying of killers
I'm sick and tired of the bad MMR, I can't put up with the blatant bullying and belitting from survivors who abuse broken map design and even more busted perks to make my life completely miserable.
Three gens pop during the first chase and I can't even get to tier 2 of my power with Nemesis... meanwhile what are the devs doing? They're nerfing Nemesis instead, a killer who (like many others) struggles severely against any competent survivors who also happen to be in a group of premades.
This is a common occurence whenever I try to play any other killer besides Pyramid Head (the only one who can deal with this obscene meta), it's truly ridiculous. BHVR's lack of understanding of the meta has contributed to creating an environment which heavily promotes the ongoing dehumanization and bullying of killers, it's simply disgusting.
None of these players feel any shame for what they're doing nor do they bother to reflect on the root of these issues. Playing killer isn't fun, it's absolute hell. I wish there would be ANY empathy from the survivor side of the community, but there isn't.
All you get are "ez" and "l2p" or "uninstall" as endgame reactions from people who will happily abuse the survivor sided nature of this game.

Why did they nerfed him? This killer is not even strong enough

Using perks and getting a random map isn't bullying or abuse. You also should be using your best addons and perks.
I also do not agree with Nemesis' addons nerf. I don't even know anyone who asked for it.
19 -
They saw Nemesis players were mostly using these two yellow addons and nerfed them. Because trying figure out why Nemesis players are using those addons over other ones is too hard.
27 -
Because their stats showed the add on was used so they just nerfed it because they only look at the numbers, rather than trying to figure out WHY those numbers exist, which is a key aspect of statistics. They just see "Oh, everyone uses marvins blood. Must be OP. NERF!" They don't bother at all trying to figure out the actual reason people use it over all other add ons. This is why they need to stop pretending they have even a basic understanding of statistics.

I've been playing as pyramid head lately. It appears people don't really like him even now. a lot of the time if I down someone with punishment of the damned because I know they're going to drop a pallet in front of me. or I know they're hiding behind a wall said person will DC as soon as a I go to pick them up especially if they're about to die.
I think that dealing with the blatant hacking problems should be more of a priority right at the moment. They're there and it's ruining matches.

Happens every day. BHVR care only for the survivor experience
11 -
Isn't that what they did with Demopuppi's Rat Liver add-on as well?
0 -
Yup. Everybody ran it because it made his power useable and they read the stats as "everybody uses this so it must be overpowered."
Like... No. Just no. You applied bad numbers to the power to make the killer feel bad to play and keep the power from working so if there's an addon that fixes your bad math, everyone is going to use it.
Nemesis can take just as long as Myers to tier up, but unlike Myers, he doesn't actually get a power spike from doing it. The tier us is JUST TO MAKE HIM PLAYABLE. Like, no duh everyone would run the thing that makes tiering up slightly faster.

Uuuhhh no offence but I'm not that surprised at this result when you have 4 meta build and you have absolutely nothing to interfere with them doing gens. I know gift if pain is supposed to do that a little but it's kinda bad and on top of that hysteria is just a terrible perk in general soooo....yeah.
Also if you want tier 2 first chase you need marvin's blood but they're taking that out now as of the current ptb so that isn't going to happen anymore.
3 -
Addons aren't going to make or break most killers in the game. They're not as important as some are led to believe.
I doubt very seriously if he changed his addons that he would have a totally different outcome in that match
2 -
Some do though however since the devs screwed with some of the killer's base kit to make them a joke.
2 -
Marvins blood makes it to where hitting 1 survivor and 1 zombie can tier you up....without it takes 3 hits on uninfected survivors.....hugh difference as getting to tier 2 fast as possible is very important.
Issue is devs thing most used addons need nerfed but there the most used because the rest are useless.......######### duh
Play your own game please.

Wrong, it takes 2 hits on uninfected to get T2 without Marvin's Blood.
Current Marvin's Blood requires: 1 uninfected hit and 1 infected hit/1 zombie hit.
New Marvin's Blood requires: 1 Uninfected hit, and 2 infected hits/2 zombies. In this case you can get a couple of tentacle hits in on your first chase and then finish off a zombie for T2. This nerf really isn't anything spectacular, IMO this addon should be base kit and no other addon should tinker mutation rate anymore.
The eye nerf is absolutely bonkers, completely unnecessary and I echo the resentment here. This is 100% just statistics reading that eerily makes me recall how they addressed Object of Obsession in that one stream. It was absolutely painful to listen to. Yeah, the 'why' is too much effort.
3 -
because it made his power useable
am i the only one remembering how they nerfed it at the same time as they buffed other add-ons + his base power as a whole or?
1 -
They nerfed the Rat Tail first. It made him unplayably bad. The outrage was such that they went back and buffed his base kit power after the uproar.
1 -
Uh, are you sure?
Because they both happened in the same patch? And Rat Liver was nerfed because the base speed was increased, too, so even if it did end up as slightly slower it was now no longer a requirement.
1 -
They happened in the same patch because the rat tail nerf was in the PTB by itself. They buffed his core power by the time the patch was finalized.
That is, after all, the point of the PTB. To do a thing, get feedback, and make the appropriate changes.
1 -
the rat liver nerf definitely wasnt the only demo change
this was every change on the ptb, more than just rat liver.
though, you are correct that the movement speed while charging shred was only added on live
if what you meant by your comment is that they only added the movement speed nerf after the ptb went to live, and not that the only change on the ptb was a rat liver nerf, then i apologise for misunderstanding.
0 -
Yes, I was talking specifically about the Rat Liver, not the rest of his changes. It was the most-used addon by a wide margin because it made his core power useful, fun to use, and the rest of his addons were atrociously bad. They went about changing his other stuff, but just gutted his Rat Liver on the principle of "well it gets used the most so it must be nerfed," while completely missing the reason WHY it was being used.
The outrage was sufficient that they went and baked 4.5% of the original 9% into his base power, and let you keep 3.5% on the addon (for a total of 8%, which was still an effective nerf, but far less of one).
That's similar to the current issues, where addons are being nerfed not because the killer is any good or the addon is too good. Just because everyone uses it due to everything else being awful.
It'd be like if they nerfed Pyramid Head's shockwave range addons. They're literally the only addons PH has that do ANYTHING at all, so they're used in virtually 100% of games. But, of course, nerfing those would involve the Devs looking at PH's addons, even slightly. Which they steadfastly have refused to do for the last 18 months (despite him having the worst addons of any killer in the game).

okay, thanks for clarifying. im sorry for misunderstanding <3
2 -
No worries!

Im not a nemesis main (never claimed to be) but i enjoy playing him and a uninfected survivor fills my meter about 40 percent (give or take) and falls just short of tier 2 on 2nd hit.
Any opinion i ever give is based solely on my personal experiences. I dont repeat what i hear or look anything up to prove my point. Soon as im done blazin im a hop in a gm to make sure im remembering right. Hope your right....honestly.
0 -
So you think he would have a completely different outcome in that game with a different set of addons?
0 -
Idk wat his skill is....all i know is the difference certain add ons/perks can do for killer. Marvins makes a difference...being able to shred through defenses earlier can def make a difference. If add ons dont make a difference (they do) no need to nerf any.
Example: trapper/mike with corrupt is going to fare much better than trapper/mike without corrupt. Trapper with extra traps and honing/iri stone is more dangerous than basic trapper. You can say this about most killers..

Literally every single match on Nemesis is a genrush fiesta, it's gotten so bad that I need to bring Brutal Strength to get any value out of breaking pallets and doors since it's so hard & detrimental to focus on gathering infection stacks on him. This match was on Badham and it took me 3-4 gens just to get my first down, it's completely absurd how survivor sided this game is.
0 -
And this is what happens if you embrace the camper mindset. Now THAT's what I call efficiency. Even did this on Gideon Meat Plant.
Anyone wanna tell me why killers shouldn't do this every game? Why should any of us willingly participate in the broken survivor meta if we can dictate the pace by standing our ground and forcing survivors to come to us instead so that we may get them to play by our rules instead?
1 -
Base Uninfected hit gives 50% in T1. Marvin's Blood kicks that to almost 70%. If an uninfected hit provides around 40% it will give you T2. If you need a reference, Otzdarva's killer streak for Nemesis emphasizes why Marvin's Blood was vital to his build, as it guarantees T2 with only one infection and one hit, thus giving him a very good power early.
That's fine, all opinions are welcome. Just wanted to be sure information was properly spread around.

Whoever said that camping makes you a "bad" killer has to be a survivor main, it's by far the most viable strategy a killer has at his disposal.
Sure, it can seem a bit boring and dull but so is the constant genrushing, this is just my take on "killrushing". You want this to stop or change? First nerf survivors then we'll talk.
2 -
"by far the most viable strategy"
Hi have you heard of gen perks? They work substantially better and even do so vs a SWF instead of just clapping solos.
0 -
No thanks, I won't rely on perks that get any value out of hooks if it takes half of the game just to get the first survivor on a hook.
1 -
Ah yes, Corrupt Intervention, my favourite perk that relies on hooks.
2 -
Corrupt is garbage, survivors will simply hide for 2 minutes while doing bones/applying boons while you're losing out on a perkslot.
1 -
That's 2 minutes you can set up, farm infection, and catch people out of position. That's 2 minutes of survivor downtime when they're at they're strongest, and you'll most likely get more value from that than you will either NOED (on a killer that, when played correctly, uses his power a lot) or Nemesis without Enduring.
0 -
Are you sure you are not just bad at the game? This isn't some epic "lol git gud kid" response, you could genuinely just not be very good at Nemesis or Dead by Daylight in general. Not everything is the fault of a perk or Survivors being too powerful and, no offense, but I doubt you are one to talk about things if you can so casually claim that Corrupt Intervention is garbage because of something as silly as "survivors will literally hide for 2 minutes instead of going to another gen."

I have over 2000 hours on this game, I've reached rank 1 on both roles back on the old rank system. If anything I'm experienced enough to come to the conclusion that no amount of practice can overcome these type of odds set by the survivors of this game. At this point I'm simply resorting to the easiest and most efficient method (that would be camping), anything else only leads to frustration and further waste of emotional energy.
0 -
Neither hours, nor reaching Rank 1 on the OLD rank system indicate skill or experience. I have around 600 hours, and have comfortably reached Rank 1 on Killer on the old rank system myself (I do not play Survivor, not my cup of tea really) and there have been times where I was ######### up bad by survivors with less hours or lower ranks only to steamroll survivors with thousands more hours than either of us and higher ranks the match right after.
Actually learning while playing Dead by Daylight is what matters, not how many hours you have clocked in or how frequently you played in those hours. You can know about the game from having played that long, sure, but your hours do not indicate skill or experience. The more you delve into something, the more you know about it, but that never means you will be more skilled at it.
2 -
The meta is the meta. You lost because they ran the meta build, and you didn't.
If you had Corrupt then your first chase wouldn't result in 3 gens being done. Score wise you did quite well for a pretty weak build. No idea what the map was either which also probably made a difference.
Also don't say survivors don't have empathy. Lots of survivors do but like some killers, there are a few survivors that are dicks.
3 -
Someone whos saying camping is the most viable strategy obviously has no idea how to play killer properly. Typical case of git gud.
4 -
There are strategies you can use against camping. They are not even hard to perform, just most players don't think to execute them at the time.
For example if 2 survivors go in at once to make the save. One can take a hit, save, and move back - while the other one moves in to body block, take a hit. Then the saved survivor tries to body block for the free protection hit - or if 3 survivors save against camping the 4th survivor can come in to take a hit.
Then the one survivor being chased runs the killer while the other 3 heal with healing boon and get back on gens - giving the killer no time to recover.
0 -
Actually, yeah, I've found that facecamping basically nets you 2+ Kills guaranteed.
The amount of teams able to ultra-efficiently gen rush is pretty low. The amount of teams willing to leave their friend to die is even lower.
If you bring something like NOED, No Way Out, Corrupt and Deadlock on someone like Bubba, that's an easy 2K if not more.
3 -
Yep thats what BHVR does. They attack the symptoms rather than the actual issue
1 -
It has always been that way.
All the way back to the OG Ruin nerf.
3 -
Yeah. Its probably because they use big data "oh wow people are using this perk/addon alot and not the others? Nerf it and they'll be more diverse :3" thats probably the thought process behind it.
Hope im wrong hope this is all part of a grand plan :3
0 -
Hysteria is actually pretty nice and underrated as hell but I doubt the OP knew how to properly use this perk (which barely anyone does) so ye, I agree with the rest though.
0 -
Behavior doesn't seem to play its own game, I wish they played with any killer for 1 full month to understand the ######### that is currently. IT'S UNBEARABLE TO PLAY KILLER.
2 -
Ah yes, camping is so viable that yesterday while getting facecamped after running a pinhead for 3 gens, my team did the remaining 2, opened the gate and came to save me.
The satisfaction of teabagging him at the gate was too good :)

Addons might change your gameplay a bit but theres no way we can be sure they would drastically alter the outcome of your games. Perks are a different story
0 -
Some add ons just increase action speed of something (not a big difference) but some add ons drastically change momentum and timing of a match. Alchemist ring is the difference of having your power right away for a follow up atk...big difference. His iri compound allows his rush to dismantle pallets (brutal meets spirit fury) big difference.
Killer is all about saving time as its a race against the clock...you must prolong the trial as much as possible and certain add ons help with or drastically change that.
0 -
The Linger tech helped me a looot with Nemesis you should try it.
But yes he needed buffs, not nerfs.
