Can we please rename "The Hillbilly" to something less racist?
Since we are cracking down on racism / "tools for hate crimes" with removing the "black face Bubba" masks, when are we (as a community) going to admit that "Hillbilly" is a pejorative targeted at white people, particularly ones from "The South" [dueling banjos intensify]?
"The Hillbilly" is literally the equivalent of making a Mexican / Cuban killer and calling him / her "The Wetback" or if we renamed "The Trickster" to "The Zipperhead". These are not used against anyone in particular, just giving examples to further my point ("Hillbilly" is a racist term); even if I don't quite understand their significance, I can appreciate that they are hate speech / racist none-the-less.
"The Deformed" "The Neglected" "The Forgotten Child", there is plenty of other lore friendly names for our Thompson boy, but we are stuck with a racist moniker instead.

Also Child makes no sense because BHVR has already said that everyone in their universe is an adult.

Speaking as someone from a rural Kentucky town with a population of under 3000, hillbilly is perfectly acceptable.

oh. The original post had a bunch of letters in brackets, they since edited those out.

I think the term would be 'classist', instead of 'racist'.
That being said, since our dear Billy's story is more of an inversion of those tropes, I'd hesitantly say it's probably fine to specifically invoke them with the name.

Can people just stop being this sensitive? Media have made you all crazy over the last 30 years or so.

Hillbilly isn't a class, it's a cultural identity.

'Hillbilly' ain't a race, so how can it be racist?

Racism: prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism by an individual, community, or institution against a person or people on the basis of their membership of a particular racial or ethnic group, typically one that is a minority or marginalized.
^ none of which applies to Hillbilly.
