Hello! I will be posting 1 part of this 3 part series every day. This is so I don't end up flooding the forums with these suggestions.

Part 1. The Monolith [This is it]

Part 2. The Killer [Not posted yet]

Part 3. The Survivor and Map [Not posted yet]

"As I wander through the darkness, I saw a strange, towering shape in the distance. Upon closer examination, it appeared to be made similarly to a larger totem, with old discarded flesh clinging to parts of it. It seemed to be wrapped up together by the tendrils of the being keeping us here, and shone a strange darkness through the night. I vowed to stay away form these things, as I knew not what consequences they'd mark." - Unknown

Monolith

Summary: The Monolith is, in simplest terms, a very large totem. It is a mix of flesh, bone, and the Entity's tendrils. It exacts penalties on the survivors as long as it stands, and gives a blessing once it's destroyed.

What does it do?: The Monolith, for every single totem there is on the map, lowers every survivor's repair speed by 5%. According to the power of MATH, it will make a generator with 5 totems up be repaired in 112.5 seconds, 4 totems is 108 seconds, 3 totems is 103.5 seconds, 2 totems is 99 seconds, and 1 totem is 94.5 seconds. When either the monolith is broken or every single totem is broken, the Monolith will instead GIVE every survivor 20% repair speed, making it 75 seconds.

How do you break it?: The Monolith takes 1 minute to break for every unbroken totem. This means you have two options: Break every totem, or attack the Monolith directly. The Monolith breaking progress cannot be regressed by the killer, and the speed is increased by sabotage (although Sabotage is not needed). A mix of breaking totems and breaking the Monolith directly is likely how it will be destroyed.

What about bloodpoints?: Working on the Monolith gives the same amount of bloodpoints you'd get from a generator. Once the Monolith is broken, every living survivor gets 1,500 survival bloodpoints. The Killer doesn't get any new bloodpoint sources from the Monolith.

Why?: The Monolith does three things with it's addition. It makes Sabotage more useful again, since Sabotage tremendously helps break the Monolith. It makes dull totems have a purpose in the game other than spawning NOED, since they all provide a 5% repair speed debuff to the survivors as long as the Monolith is up. Finally, it adds a secondary objective to help enrich game play for the survivors, since until now generators have been their only objective.

Offerings: With a new game mechanic should come new offerings.

Survivor Offerings:

Bone Pieces (Green): Survivors gain an additional 2% action speed after breaking the Monolith. "Broken Bones call upon the Entity to revel in destruction." - Unknown.

Wet Skull (Purple): The Monolith gets 10 less seconds of health per totem. "An old skull harvested and taken from a Totem that laid by the Campfire. It seems eternally wet and frail."

Bottle of Flesh (Pink): The Monolith gives 1% less of a penalty per totem. "The fog can be manipulated, you just need the right amount of materials in the right dosage." - Vigo's Journal.

Killer Offerings:

Ritualistic Bone (Green): Survivors gain 5% less action speed after breaking the Monolith (basically, sets the gain to 15% instead of 20%.) "Carved into a perfect offering, burning this offering calls upon the Entity to have a distaste for destruction."

Stone Skull (Purple): The Monolith gets 30 more seconds of health per totem. "A stone skull, by a broken totem, has taken the elements without dent or dust. It seems to fill a hardiness into the air."

Bottle of Bones (Pink): The Monolith gives 2% more repair penalty per totem. "I fear the fog has taken yet another one of my possessions, and spat out a poor replica. This time, I dread the replica is on the wrong side." - Vigo's Journal.

Closing Thoughts

I'd like to thank several people for helping me balance this out, in particular however is KillShot for pointing out several flaws in the Monolith. Although none of their changes made it in because of disagreements on how easy/hard it was to break, KillShot was immensely useful in getting another viewpoint in this.

I will be posting the Killer and their perks tomorrow, until then: Please leave feedback on the Monolith.
