Noone fears the killers

Is it just me or if a survivor group is halfway competent do they just have no fear of the killer. Best abilities are hexes which they dont hide well so are gone almost before first gen pops. There is literally no reason for the survivors to feel rushed or that they may not win.

I'm at well over 1K hours and only times I fear the killer are when I get the exposed status affect against Ghostie or with Haunted Grounds midchase. Counting down those last seconds hoping the killer doesn't get a hit in can be exhilarating. T1 Myers/Shackle Hag are also 'scary' but in a different way and I don't think people fear them more than find their heartrate jumps.

Other killers aren't to be feared once you've played against them a couple of times imo and I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing.

In this kind of game i think any time the survivors win they should feel lucky to have won and thats not where this game is at.

Dead by Daylight is a horror game for the first 10-20 hours.

It's a party game right after.

As a solo that suffers along with other random people, I fear every single killer and my teammates as well if things go south

That is usually how pvp games work, dbd stops being a horror game after like 5 matches. If you aren't gonna play like a threat, why are enemies gonna act like you are? If you actually get good at the game and can pose that threat, then survivors will see you like that

    Crowman Member Posts: 9,603

If most killers were an actual threat to good survivors, then most survivors wouldn't come off as "fearless" to them.

    Beginners do.

I don´t fear them anymore but i respect good killers.

But a stealth gen grab still makes me jump sometimes :-)

Well, not only that but If you're playing against a coordinated SWF group it's literally them that decides the pacing of the game.. Just tune in in one of those main survivor TTV's playing with their audience or with a premade group on discord and see what I mean... And Just notice if they bring flashlights... It's a Full circus of killer harrasment at it's best: Flashlight saves, DH's everywhere, unbreakables when everyone is down, DS's as well and so on...

They literally decide the time for doing gens and end the match..

This is why I think wins in a row with SWF's should have a passive gen speed penalty.. Better bring my shield cause survivors will come at full force on me after saying that.

It's more fun to handicap yourself and play survivor with no perks or only a couple of off brand perks so you have a more intense game with back and forth, otherwise the game tends to play like a monotonous speedrun challenge every time with survivors gen rushing

Its not really a good thing that most M1 killers aren't much to be feared.

Its survival horror I want to fight to survive not loopy waste killer time. Sadly as you go up in mmr its more and more of the loopy with the occasional scary game.

I find good tension games are jumpscare Myers, infinite T2 tombstone Myers, shackles hag, insidious bubba, NOED endgame, Insta hatchet Huntress, insta down clown. Games where chases and situations are genuinely threatening rather than tediously played out.

Well you cant get scared if you know where the killer is all the time. You know when they are close by and you can see their stupid red glow before they turn a corner. You would think that survivors wouldn't want to go by the killer cause that makes sense but instead they will go right up to you and body block and its all fine and dandy without any consequence. I personally think the game would be more fun if the survivors didn't know how close you are to them.

Too many hooks and time are required to kill someone thats why no one have fear. Only when a killer have instadown either by power or a perk is when they begin to have it.

    Survivors are like seasons.

There are 4 of them and they don't fear the reaper

Fearing the killer would be like fearing the ghost is Phasmophobia.

You go into the match poking fun at them but it eventually gets to a point where things get serious and you gotta rush to get out.

Also in the sense that fear is completely gone after you pass level 100 in Phasmo unless you're a big baby or really sensitive to jumpscares. XD

    🎶

    All our gens have come

    Here but now they're gone

    Survivors don't fear the reapers

How do you win when you play this game?

(We can be like they are)

Come on, Billy (don't fear the reaper)

David take my hand (don't fear the reaper)

Make the Legion cry (don't fear the reaper)

    Kindred, I'm your man

    La, la, la, la, la

    La, la, la, la, la

    Valentine is done

    Swfs have come and gone

    Romero isn’t downed yet

She’s running for eternity (Romero isn’t downed yet)

40, 000 players every day (like Romero)

40, 000 players every day (redefine the handicaps)

Another 40, 000 coming everyday (we can run like they are)

Come on, newbie (don't fear the reaper)

Jonah, take my hand (don't fear the reaper)

We're unable to die (don't fear the reaper)

    Boons, I'm your man

    La, la, la, la, la

    La, la, la, la, la

    Gens to two, now one

    Scratches, now they're gone

Came the last Clown of sadness

And it was clear he couldn't have won

Then the doors were open and the cracks appeared

The flashlights clicked and then disappeared

The team all flew and the score appeared

    Saying Disatisfied

Come on, Piggy (and Ace had no fear)

And she Ambushed him (pallets started to fly)

They looked backward and kneeled goodbye (Pig had become like they are)

She had taken his kit (she had become like they are)

Come on, Katie (don't fear the reaper)

    🎶

Who's going to fear Killers with a cute little red light in front of them and groan when tapped with a wooden barge. 😅

I'm not sure its fear so much as tension.

The game can often feel more desperate and tense as killer than as survivor which just seems a little off given the theme.

Once in a while they do if you manage to dominate. Some of them start hiding as well but all seeing piggy have a knack of finding them.

There are alot of survivors terrified of even being in the killer's terror radius and spend the entire match just hiding. My swf teammate and I get teamed up with them all the time.

Why would they fear killers? Survivor is the power role right now. Its a 4v1 Congruent horror game instead of Asymmetrical. With a bunch of mainstream horror licenses thrown in to bait the consumer to play a game that takes 1-5 year long balance recognitions.

I've got my dbd vr rig setup to instantly pierce my heart if a killer actually kills me.

This is why I urban evade across the edges of the map only

Bunch of people forced to play a game that's rigged to kill them if they die ingame

Maybe it becomes a party game for survivor with their friends but for everyone else it becomes a chore over time.
