Short story.
So I took a break from dbd for about a month and a few days, came back for the 1.5x bp event, in 6 killer matches today I saw 23 DH in total.
Just like old ruin DH needs to be changed since it is in almost every match.
Nothing but meta perks, how is that fun for anyone? Now this goes for both sides.
I played 2 survivor matches and 6 killer matches.
Survivor matches were almost the same, facecamp into tunnel into facecamp.
Killer matches were the same as well BNP, comm toolboxes.
Today made me remember why I stopped playing this game for a month.

I don't know what happened last night, but no more BP streamers from me.
All gen rush and tunnels. My poor lady, who never plays, was just tunneled all night.
Escape cakes and puddings are all I'm offering now.

This was not the only reason why Ruin was reworked.

I mean, you have more variety on Killers side, as long as you dont want to go super-easy and run 4 Slowdown-Perks. But if you look beyond Slowdown, you can have more variety in Killer Builds, simply because every Killer plays different. So in total, for the Killer SIde, more Perks find actual usage.
For Survivors however, they have like 6 Meta-Perks. Of course you will see the same Perks over and over again. But, as we see with CoH, Survivors are also not allowed to have new Meta-Perks. Or good Perks in general.

Old ruin was changed because it was in almost every match, and also because it gave free pressure, dead hard is now on almost every match and gives a free health state or at least 1 extra minute of survival.
There is no difference.

Yeah, I was using bps and 4th/5th year cakes, I will just keep them, screw giving to other players in this game, no point if I leave the match with 6k x 2 because someone decided to tunnel/camp.

Exactly. It's a shame, I try to bring in something every game, but not anymore. Keep to myself, unless I have to resort to swfing again.

This is crazy to me. I don't like seeing Ruin, Undying, and POP in a lot of my games, but I'm not going to ask for nerfs. Both sides should have good perks.

"At LEAST 1 extra minute of survival" bit exaggeration hm? just on some occasions if you play bad...
also plz keep in mind if a survivor dies it means game over, killers cant die and will always play a full round. some perk for extra survivability seems fair to me....

We can’t change perks because “they’re used too much” or something like that.

Well tbf the meta does need to be nerfed on both sides anyway. That’s how we’re going to expose all the perks below the meta because buffing those perks doesn’t really changed much. Pop should do less regression while base regression should be buffed.

1 min is not really an exaggeration, in fact a simple dead hard can change the outcome of 3 gens or not, and RNG can make it worse I guess according to you "if you are bad"

🙄 The amount of people that came here just to dismiss OP without adding anything to the discussion. For a long time now Survivors have had too much power, and each match their loadouts are literally copy/paste of the same 6 perks. That is an issue, when it's getting so bad it's driving players away. Obviously it's not as simple as "Nerf this perk because it's popular". It is clearly because "This perk needs a nerf because it gives too much of an advantage. Giving them great reward for very little work". Which that is apart of why the old Ruin changed, it gave great reward for little work (other reason being it made matches very difficult for new survivor players). Which also applies to new Killers, who normally would take longer to end chases, well Dead Hard adds another health state, and/or guarantee's reaching another safe tile that will extend a chase another 12-20 seconds.

Maybe you're right. I don't really feel like they need to though. Both sides should have strong perks to use. Perks shouldn't be changed unless they are too weak/strong.
