Chapter: Sacrament of Sin
The killer: Fanatic
Appearance: The killer would look like a medieval priest with a crazy expression on his face. He would have a glove on his right hand and the Mark of the Beast on his left hand.
Killers name: Father Frederick
Warning: The killer's lore is quite long. I still recommend you to read this because I put in it quite an effort but if you are not interested in such a thing scroll down.

The year 1349...
9 February: I was sent to this petty French village located in the east of Strasburg by the order of the Vatican in need to check the rumors about the local priest who was supposed to practice occultism. My journey went smoothly without any disturbances. I was welcomed personally by Father Frederick who was surprisingly happy to see my arrival. After his greetings, he showed me around the village and ordered villagers to prepare my resting place. He asked me many questions about various topics including, the Vatican, human nature, and our role in spreading the faith and eradication the sin from catholic society, however, he didn't seem happy about my answers.
10 February: I'm starting to be bothered by all this quiet in the village.The only one who I have heard speaking was Father Frederick. None of the villages answered my questions nor even wanted to speak with me. Father Frederick says I shouldn't worry about them and if I will have any questions I should ask him directly.
11 February: Father Frederick conducts a disturbing masses. Not only during his mass all the faithful perform acts of self-flagellation but his speech with this unnerving tone makes me shiver. He calls himself a Shepard and all his faithful a sheeps that needs to be guided. He thinks that God gave us pain as a form of retribution for our sins and that we won't be able to reach the heavens if we haven't suffered the equivalent of our wrongdoing.
12 February: I still trembling when I write this but I found out why the other residents of this village haven't uttered even a word since I arrived here. Their tongues were cut off! I will confront you tomorrow about this however I have a strong feeling that I should leave the village. If I will need to protect myself I can only rely on my club.
13 February: The father Frederick told me that they voluntarily choose that their vowes would be performed that way. He's gone mad beyond our imagination. He thinks that it's the best method to deal with a corrupted nature of a human tongue. He also expressed his disappointment in me his fellow colleague because of my disapproval. I should get back on my horse and leave immediately, but I have to check on the last thing. Father Frederick tends to visit his church basement quite often. The problem is that his basement is usually protected by at least 2 locals no matter what time it is. I have to figure something out.
14 February: I tried distraction, deception, and even invoked my authority but it all ended in failure. When I finally gave up The God has helped me in my struggle. Father Frederick asked me to return to my hut because they were preparing an event that I couldn't be a part of since I'm not one of the locals. He ordered two of his faithful that guarded the basement to move to my hut during this event. This was my chance. When one of them indulged in physiological activity, with one swift strike I knocked down the other villager then I quickly took care of the confused last one. I approached the church as carefully and stealthy as I could. When I managed to reach my destination I was observing their event from afar. At that moment my body froze. They tied five people, including one priest, to the piles which they lit up. Father Frederick screamed in ecstasy as their flesh began to burn. This monster rejoiced about their so-called salvation. I knew that I didn't have a lot of time so I rushed to the basement, but even there the sight that I saw made me convulse. It was a sickening torture chamber. The room was soaked in blood and mostly rotten body parts were lying everywhere. I found Father Frederick's diary near the table full of sharp tools. In that diary, I have learned everything. What are we dealing with is not simply a madman but a fanatic with devilish powers. Guided by the devil who revealed himself to Father Frederick as "God" he manipulated him into believing that only pain can save the mortal soul. With the devil's instructions, he also conducted a ritual that granted him pyrokinesis. What's more frightening each sacrifice and torture makes him more powerful and more insane. I know the truth, I have to get out of here as soon as possible.
15 February: I think it's past midnight...When I left the church I... Father Frederick just waited for me with a sad look on his face. It always pains me to see a fellow cleric revel in sins he said. He ordered his goons to chase me to my hut. I, I know what awaits me I read how he tortures with particular cruelty the clerics. The one who burned in the pile was the recent example. He calls all the clergymen who disagreed with his thesis false shepherds. Those who are named with such a nickname suffer much worse than the rest of the sinners. I don't want to...God, I don't want to be tormented by this satans spawn. I refuse to die like this. The barricaded doors of my hut soon will be broken. There is only one thing that I can do now. I will Hide this diary and pray that some kind soul will be able to find it and inform the Vatican. Dear Lord, please forgive me...oh dear God have mercy, have mercy upon my soul.

We have managed to stop the bleeding. He will be saved, even he can be.
Weapons:
Tier I weapon: Flagellants whip
Tier II weapon: Two-handed steel cross.
Abilities:
Fanatic ability is called a mark of the Shepard. A mark of the Shepard has 2 tiers. Tier II can be reached when 3 survivors have been placed on the Burning pile.
Tier I abilities:
Special ability:
Burning pile: Press the Active Ability button while standing over a dying Survivor to send them to a Burning pile.
Survivor sent to a Burning pile is teleported far away from the Fanatic.
When a Fanatic stays too long near the Burning pile location. The burning pile is teleported somewhere else away from him.
Survivors unhook other survivors 50% longer when the killer is at least 32 meters away from the pile and 50% faster when the killer is 16 meters near the pile.
Survivors in a Burning pile undergo the regular Sacrifice process as if they were on a Hook.
When at least one of the survivors is on the Burning pile the rest of the survivors that are not on the hook suffers the following effects:
- - All of the survivor's skill checks are replaced with difficult skill checks
- - Every time a survivor misses a skill check he suffers additionally from the Incapacitated status effect for the 10 seconds.
The burning pile has 3 uses and more uses cannot be acquired during the match.
Every time you put a survivor on the Burning pile of the 3 unique voice lines will appear:
-"Let those fierce flames purify your sinful soul"
- "Suffering is a path to a salvation"
-"This fire will save you from the hellish one"
When a survivor dies on the Burning pile Fanatic will also say one of the 3 unique voice lines:
-"Rest in peace, my child"
-"Your sins are forgiven"
-"Your soul has been cleansed"
Power: Heretic Hunt
After you damage a survivor with your basic attack, you have 15 seconds to use Heretic Hunt.
Heretic Hunt can be used by pressing the power button.
Damaging another survivor when the Heretic Hunt is active and can be used will result in resetting the countdown of this ability in which you can use it.
You can only use Heretic Hunt on the one survivor. It's always the most recent survivor you have damaged.
Using Heretic Hunt takes one second and decreases the killer movement speed during that one second by 10%.
After use: Heretic Hunt gains the killer a haste status effect ( 5% ) for 6 seconds.
Heretic Hunt has the following effects on the survivor for 60 seconds:
-survivor suffers from the broken status effect
-survivor scratch marks will be seen for additional 3 seconds after a survivor has stopped running
When a survivor is hit during Heretic Hunt all the generators lose 5% of progress.
After Heretic Hunt has been used it lasts 60 seconds. During that 60 seconds, this ability is disabled while it effect lasts.
You can cancel the Heretic Hunt after 15 seconds of its activation.
Tier II abilities:
After reaching tier-II the killer basic attack is wider and can damage multiple survivors. ( yes no blocking :< )
( and remember the attack is wider, but the reach remains the same)
The Fanatic abilities from tier I are replaced by those from tier II.
Survivors have sound notification when Fanatic reaches tier II.
In order for a fanatic to reach tier II after placing the third survivor on a burning pile, he needs to press the active ability button. After pressing the active ability button the fanatic stays still for 3 seconds then he uses self-immolation ( self-immolation explained below). After that, he's at tier II.
Special ability:
A wave of fire: Press and hold the Active Ability button for 4 seconds to summon a wave of fire.
You cant move during summoning the wave of fire.
The wave of fire is 3 meters wide.
A wave of fire moves straight at 7.0 m/s, goes through all the terrain stops when it reaches the end of the map.
The wave of fire is visible for survivors and possible to hear when it's approaching them.
A wave of fire can damage survivors and leave the fire trails that last 6 seconds which can also damage survivors.
Survivors that were hit but either wave of fire or the trails are immune to both the wave and the trails for 2 seconds.
Power:
Self-Immolation: Press the power button to perform an act of self-immolation.
Self-immolation grants the killer hindered status effect (10%) for 1 second after it was used ( Preparing time)
Self-immolation gains the killer haste status effect (5%) for 6 seconds after preparing time.
During the self-immolation Fanatic bursts in flames that can damage a survivor after a required period of time has passed.
After use Self-immolation can be used again after 6 seconds or it's used automatically after 10 seconds has passed, This use will result in detonation.
Self-immolation detonation explodes 2 meters around the killer damaging the survivors.
Self-immolation doesn't go through walls. In a case when a pallet blocks a survivor from the explosion, the pallet is destroyed.
Self-immolation can damage multiple survivors. Self-immolation is not stopped when a Fanatic performs a basic attack or uses a wave of fire.
Self-immolation is stopped after the killer has been stunned by either a pallet or a head-on.
Self-immolation after an explosion gives the killer 1.5 fatigue and has 8 seconds cooldown.
Perks:
Hex: Anointing of the sick: The survivor's grunts of pain are increased by 30/40/50%. A survivor that has been damaged by you ( either by basic attack or the ability ) suffers from mangled and Haemorrhage status effects.
When the Hex: Anointing of the sick has been cleansed, all the injured survivors suffer from deep wound status effect and all the survivors suffer from 15 seconds of exhaustion status effect for each injured survivor.
Penance: Each time a survivor unhooks other survivors when the killer is at least 32 meters away from the hooking location both of the survivors suffer from blindness status effect for 40 seconds. For each unique survivor that was unhooking gain one token. At the moment when you have reached 4 tokens, all of the survivors suffer from the Exposed status effect for 18/19/20 seconds.
Vows of silence: When a generator has been fully repaired all the survivors suffer from the silenced status effect for 13/14/15 seconds. During that status effect, all perks of the survivors are disabled.

I write this letter because I sadly have to inform you that I won't be able to visit you and your family at Christmas.
Soon I will be part of the escapade, I even would say a crusade.
I can't reveal more details about it but the leader of this escapade High Exorcist Leon has a high opinion about me so decided to choose me as one of the supporting members.
All I can say is there is a sensitive problem with blasphemy in out of our fine country villages.
I shouldn't be worried about it since I'm gonna be with such important and strong members of our church but I can't shake the bad feeling that's has been haunted me since I was chosen.
The worst things are those nightmares, in which everything is consumed by fire.
In those dreams, I'm trying to save people but everybody dies in my hands, I'm helpless against all these odds.
I have to ask sir Leon about the meaning of this.
I shouldn't bother myself with it, I have to stay focused.

Perks:
Boon: Inner peace: Survivors inside this Boon Totem range benefit from the following effects:
-They Suppress the urge to scream at all times
-They do not notify the killer after performing a rushed action when they are not in the chase for at least 5/4/3 seconds.
God's grace: In order to activate this perk you have to fully heal 3 other different survivors. When this perk is activated, press the Active Ability button while healing another Survivor without a medkit to grant him an endurance status effect for 8/9/10 seconds. You can grant other survivor endurance status effect after he was healed for at least 4 seconds by you. After granting a survivor endurance status effect with this perk God's grace is disabled for 90 seconds.
Note: This perk will override Zarina perk "for the people" after 4 seconds of healing. Thanks to that you will be able to use both of those perks. So if 4 seconds of healing haven't passed you will use for the people instead of God's grace.
Miracle: When you suffer from a deep wound status effect, instead of mending yourself you are able to recover from it automatically after 12 seconds. After removing the deep wound status effect with that perk, this perk becomes disabled for 140/130/120 seconds. ( I'm sorry Legion ).

Had to name this chapter Sacrament of sin because it is accurate to killer lore and sounds pretty cool not gonna lie. My initial name for this chapter was however salvation of souls.
