Remember when we could 99 hooks?

Yeah, me neither. It was a long time ago now

    Oh god. Flashbacks.

I had one team that literally had 2 people 99 hooks and 2 stack gens to 99 them. The second I downed someone and headed towards a hook: Broken. Next hook: Broken. Next hook: Broken. Wriggle free.

They would lead any chase towards 99 hooks so I had no choice but to watch the 3 closest hooks drop every time I downed someone.

After it happened four times; I'm ashamed to admit that I ragequit. It was clear they were going to just milk my misery instead of trying to win, and could pop gens the second it looked like they were going to lose. I lacked the skill to counter it and I was not going to suffer for an hour for them to have something to get their jollies off on. 😕

Oof. And naive, innocent me pondered for a moment how you might 99 a hook in order to kill a survivor the instant he went there. They sounds like hell. I find it already stressing and oppressive when a survivor runs to tune hook In heading to amd couches, but at least that puts them in harms way and they aren't doing any gens im that time.

Normally I don't mind that, as I think "you cant hate everything, just because it's out of your comfort zone and a little bit different from the usual gameplay loop" (btw, does this sound familiar? "Nerf Spirit, my usual tricks don't work". "Nerf tombstone Myers, my usual tricks don't work" etc. Differences, even when sometimes aggregating, keep the game fresh, that's why I think DH as the supreme be all-end all exhaustion perk needs to change), but every now and then you have that one game, where this one survivor has an uncanny knack for always being there, sabotaging your every hook, and dayum does it rile me up :D

But all in all sabotaging is fine and needs a lot of skill, finesse and situational awareness to pull off.

Good thing this insanely busted failure of a design no longer exists.

    I do.

I saw many Survivors try that and fail miserably, just like I saw many good plays with it too.

Its chance of success relied heavily on its user, but it was a cool thing nonetheless.

Such a shame it was removed.

I remember slugging a four man SWF to death as Ghostface once because of it.

Those were not good times for anyone at all.

Yeah, it sounds like there was a HUGE skill curve to that. Wish they would promote gameplay like this instead of interactive gameplay.

I think I came into the game right around the time of the switch

This. In my eyes the possibility to 99 hooks and permanently destroy them is what made 4 men slug bleedout deaths more popular.

Old sabotage was better to play against

I don't know if I'm in a minority but the way they reworked it made it extremely unfun to play against

Old sabo was better to use and made sabo viable.

New sabo is just almos bad idea.

Also why does sabo have a 60 second cd lol?

It was niche but if used right was very powerful, something this game should promote more now.

what was worse was sabo’ing trapper traps

Im probably one of the only people that rememberd this. But old tinkerer plus two charge addons for billy or wind up addons for huntress. Machine gun or death. Your choice.

Not really a Skill Curve. Nothing in DBD really takes skill.

But it was either a complete waste of time for the Survivor(s) or really annoying for the Killer. There was nothing between.

It was good that they got rid of it.

Yes. I remember I when I first started playing I would use Saboteur to 99 almost every hook. Fun times.

I kind of miss the old sabotage mechanic, but I guess it needed to be changed because of the toolbox changes.

I had one game where I was solo and had been matched with a 3SWF. I had spent most the match being chased/hooked and was on my 3rd hook when doors were opened. The swf team apparently had 99 all the hooks and as I was being carried they ran around dropping them all until I wiggled free and then they took hits for me to the door - everyone escaped. I never once saw that happen in all my games until that time, and then they changed sabo. 😂

mfw there's people that actually think old Sabo was balanced or even remotely healthy design

I guess nothing's impossible in this world.
