Placing Crows Near Hooks

I'm a fellow main Artist and I have a really important question, why can't I place crows near hooked survivors?

The obvious answer would be "It mitigates camping", but in reality is just an annoyance.

First of all for some unknown reason crows don't pierce/go trough hooked survivors, they just disappear. So 90% of the time both survivors are immune to damage until unhooking the animation is over.

Secondly the artist is the one of the few killers that can't use near hooks while Cannibal, Huntress, Trickster, Hag, Hillbilly can use their power to guarantee at 1 kill. If the Artist really wants it can apply insane pressure while camping by just walking a few meters of a hook.

And lastly I want to point out how annoying and stressful this is with a few examples:

  • I hook a survivor and see other survivors repairing a gen across the map with BBQ or Thrilling but I need to get around a building because I am to close to a hooked survivor making me waste several seconds.
  • I hook a survivor and there is another survivor nearby looping me at a rock and I can't use my power and I can't capitalize on their mistake because I'm "camping "even tough the survivor is out of position.

Overall I really think this is a stupid and unnecessary mechanic that should be removed.

Because she is an anti loop killer, not an area defense killer.

It exists, because BHVR likes to make a killer's kit be clunky just so they can say they did something about Artist using their power to camp.

This. Newer killers tend to have anti-camp mechanics baked in where older ones don't. Look at Twins; not being able to switch anywhere near a hooked survivor can be terrible at times. If there's somebody else nearby, you're SoL.

I'm used to moving away from the hook before setting up the customary gen check, but there's been a few times where I chased someone past a hook and my power blipped out while I was trying to use it.

Mainly I think it's a bit silly because you can still very effectively camp with Artist by setting up crows a short distance away and pointing them at the hook. Or just pointing them at the hook from wherever. It's not like she needs to be right there in that small radius.

It made more sense to prevent her from placing birds near hooks back when running into an idle bird caused a damage state.

An actual smart solution would be preventing the placing of crows that are aimed towards the hooked survivor if you're too close. It would also be extremely easy to do this, and that way you can immediately take advantage of perks like BBQ, while preventing you from crow camping!
