Nothing to see here folks, just your typical Q&A stream. In all seriousness, you might want to ditch Q&A streams and instead just make frequent post acknowledging issues that may arise.

I'm a little baffled why have a Q&A at all if they can't or won't answer 80% of the questions asked. At the very least, pick the questions that can be answered?
So far, I've got "bots won't replace DCed players because we want this game to be humans-only", "coh will be nerfed (but not enough to stop it being broken)", "we do baffling addon nerfs because at high MMR these killers are too powerful," and "we don't plan on improving Myers at this time" as actual answers. Everything else has been a non-answer.
Edit: Whoops, forgot "No, match replays are never happening" was also a concrete answer.

That's why I wish they would just can the streams and publicly acknowledge issues when they arise, it's a big let down when you promise to answer questions and then spend 30 minutes saying "we can't answer that."
2 -
You missed "we don't want to consider killers as skilled when they have a skilled performance."
3 -
These streams are just comical at this point.
5 -
sick im not needed anymore
community: "stop cherrypicking the questions!"
devs: *picks the questions people upvote, despite the fact they already know the devs cant speak on them*
the community: "omg cherrypick the questions so you can answer them already"
9 -
I mean why have streams then?
2 -
Its not like they gave better answers in the older Q&A where they cherrypicked questions LMFAO
4 -
HA!
0 -
they gave answers that werent three different phrases
2 -
if they dont they get flamed for not being transparent
2 -
They did this time as well - for like 5 questions as @lazuli pointed out in their post LOL
1 -
I think they would know by now that no matter what they do, people will complain.

I don't really agree with this. Several I knew would never be answered (obviously they can't give anti-cheat specifics), but a lot of the questions asked seemed pretty reasonable and got non-answers anyway. "Can we have a roadmap?" "Ehhhhh." "Are you going to focus on game health?" "Sort of. By the way, check out our next tome!" "Do you have any more updates on solo survivor changes or anti-facecamping measures?" "Soon (tm)."

ah my bad didnt realise we were being that pedantic

I mean, they still do cherrypick questions, since not every question that gets most upvotes are on the Q&A so if they're going to cherrypick, at least they could be honest about it.
1 -
I find it baffling to hold a qna if they are just going to be oppressed by what they can say from management
6 -
Its because they dont want to seem like they "cherry pick questions" when it still seems like they do that despite saying "they used the most upvoted questions"
0 -
Are you familiar with the concept of a middle ground? Filter the most upvoted questions through their ability to actually answer them. It's that simple.
2 -
History shows that the community does not accept this either.
1 -
How much do they pay you for permanently white knighting them? I could need some extra income as well
5 -
Not like people on community pages get heard anyways. Each one has a favorite group that are the only ones who get listened to, and everyone agrees with them because their the favorite. It's like being in Junior High all over again. Twitter you got the streamer favorite group. Forums - well we know who are the favorites here. Reddit, we can't include reddit that's literally just memes for the most part.
I wonder if CM's even know the steam community exists, and idk if anyone follows microsoft pages or sony pages. Does nintendo even have a DBD group?

Did they actually give that as a reason for nerfing Nemesis, Clown, and Twins?! Have they ignored pretty much everyone that plays at high MMR?
0 -
I don't care what "the community" thinks, as though a disparate group of people were some horrid hive mind. Ridiculous. I care about what is right and what makes sense. Answering questions that you have the answers to makes sense, being able to be attentive to which of those questions people are interested in also makes sense. If people can't see the logic behind marrying those concepts, who cares? They're wrong.

nothing. im motivated out of pure spite and hatred for the community which only just outweighs my spite for them
anyway keep shooting shots one day youll hit the right continent x

Your boy is campaigning hard for moderator status, then to parley that into a cushy job at Behavior Interactive.

They just brought up Twins. Nemesis and Clown weren't addressed (and for good reason, because I'd really like to know how they're monsters at high MMR.)

if i wanted to be a mod id have applied during the previous applications. the fact that i didnt should tell you all you need to know, but just in case it doesn't then id like to make it very clear i have no intentions on becoming a moderator for these forums, or for bhvr in any capacity, nor do i have any plans on working with them during the forseeable future at all.

The problem is they choose to have QnA's when they know already they either won't answer to questions, or its gonna be "prank" questions that yeah we've heard 20 times already (hehe shirtless myers when?).
Why do the QnA to begin with when it's like this?
1 -
Well thats really sad tbh. Maybe you should consider taking a break from the game and the forums.

ive considered it and come to a conclusion dont worry x

You should leave when you hit 20,000 posts, that's only like, 4,500 more post of misery.

ill think about it

Idk, I understand it's probably not fun hearing "soon" n stuff, but i understand why they say it. If they say "in the 5.7 update but then smth comes along and they can't do it outrage happens. I would rather have some kind of communication between the devs and the player base. While this is not the most ideal way to do it, it is a way and I'm happy it is in place.
Maybe I think this way because I'm a dev myself and I can relate, but yeah... idk.
Can't wait for the Twins QoL changes. It's gonna take a year, but I'll happily wait.
1 -
I mean they could do it but that actually means they can't slack anymore... because they've told the playerbase to wait about a lot of stuff (one of the most waited things was returning the legacy to the owners) and then they told you "You know what? Screw you". And it will force them to fulfill their word instead of playing and fooling around.

Knowing how development works from the inside... it never works like that. I wish I could say "ohh, they just had to work harder", but 99% of the time it's actually because when you develop there are like 420 different problems being thrown in your face that you have to solve.
I know some people expect them to work 20 hours a day, but... let's be real...
Communication with the player base is hard, especially since many players don't really understand or sympathize with them. These people will not like anything. You are only saying soon? Bad. Saying dates but not delivering? Bad. And don't forget, the upset people are always the loudest ones.
I'll let them say when they are ready. Saves me and others disappointment. With the QnA, you can get a general idea about the plans. A very vague, but an idea. I'm glad I have it.

No one expects them to work 20 hours a day, but there are ways to make your work easier... they could've started a long ago making the game from scratch in order to, let's say, don't have a mess that's only going to get bigger because you didn't properly developed the game but used blocks to create them and here you have, the game keeps growing and Did someone at BHVR started with it? No one, every healing perk works similarly and with a similar code yet every perk must be changed differently, as an example, Boon CoH could easily work like We'll Make it, with the healing speed capped but no, it doesn't. So that means they're programming everything twice, ON PURPOSE. If you're wise then you'll try to make your work easier for you, cutting your time. My boss had a horrible way to assign our jobs so I had to reassign stuff to my coworkers and designed it in a way that we could work faster and get less stress from the same work... getting a better productivity.
If no one stops and says "no, you know? We're doing our work wrong" and rethink about their gameplan and how to improve their productivity then yes, blame everything else, programming is hard, indeed but there are ways to make their works easier, simpler and faster (in fact, a good programmer is indeed, lazy, he will take time in programming something if that means he will be able to save time and get more time later), improving the productivity, they just don't want to stop and think about it because people will keep playing.

we do baffling addon nerfs because at high MMR these killers are too powerful.
lol, thanks mr. dev.
there are a few top twin killers (3-5%?) that's why the rest 95-97% of twins players will suffer for it.
0 -
More than that, I think win rates for Twins are going to be more swayed by individual players because virtually nobody plays Twins. Today's data showed they were the least picked killer by a long shot. They're not weak, but their QoL is terrible and they're not top-tier either, so the math for 'is this killer worth getting good at' doesn't really check out. If you've got a few really good or efficient Twins devotees at the top, they're going to impact the data because so few people want to play Twins casually - as opposed to a killer like Huntress that everyone has and who feels clean to play, so she's used by both god Huntresses, average Huntresses, and newbie Huntresses in even measure.
