Bring back old Freddy!!!

I may have a better idea: how about you grow up, stop spreading incorrect information about a character because you personally disliked them, and quit acting negatively towards people who rightfully want to play as their favorite killer again?
Mine sounds much more fun, I would say.

Oh...
Ready for a sequel, then?

'Spreading incorrect information', such as my opinion? Opinions cannot be wrong (outside of the obvious examples such as "I think grass is red" nonsense).
The very last sentence was the only part of my comment that was not an opinion, and that's because it's a fact. Old Freddy was bottom tier. He was almost unanimously agreed to be trash, and that cannot be refuted.
The rest of it is all my **O P I N I O N**, not 'disinformation' or 'lies'. You're being disingenuous pretending otherwise.
Would you like me to start every sentence with "in my opinion" just to make it clear what I'm referring to? Because I thought it was rather obvious enough that it was all my *subjective personal opinion* and thus not up for debate.
EDIT: Also, point me to where I was "being negative towards people who rightfully want to play as their favorite killer again?", because I can't find that at all in my comment. I didn't mention any thoughts to anyone at all, let alone negative disparaging comments like you're implying (and like what you actually did to me).

Oh I remember that! Sure is weird how times have changed. It's official, we must start the sequel!

######### where do I find the first? I don’t want any spoilers.

You must have had a bad day. I'd suggest getting off the forums and clearing your mind.
2 -
Honestly if only I remember which post it was but let me find it right quick.

My day's been fine. I just don't appreciate being called a liar out of nowhere just for expressing my personal thoughts on something, especially on something as harmless as a balance change made two and a half years ago. That's just plain rude and unneeded.

found it

Thanks :)

Wait there was someone named ClaudetteInABush?! I’ve missed so much :(

First of all, opinions can be wrong.
The last part of your comment is not only wrong, but can also be refuted. I quote: "and is actually viable above low-level gameplay, unlike Old Freddy."
That is simply not the case. Several people pointed out that he was indeed viable, and that "worst killer" talk was nothing buy a myth. I myself did that back in the day. There was fellow Forum members who did so, and even Otz himself stated that Freddy had his strengths and that, in his opinion, he was not the worst killer in the game.
And you misjudge me when you assume that I was talking about your entire comment. You can have your own opinions, obviously. If you believe that the current Freddy is more enjoyable, and don't want his old version to return, that is fine. I regret that you don't see it, but I respect it.
That was what I wanted to address. Everything else are indeed your opinions, just as my response were my own.
Last but not least, the negative part of your comment is your comment. This thread was started by people who either really miss him or want to have a chance to play as him, and they are the majority in the thread. Immediately coming here only to share a point of view that is completely opposed to the matter while also stating that, I quote: "His rework is one of the better things to happen to the game., is not something that should be done.
However, if you believe that I was acting condescending or rude towards you, then I apologize. I assure you it was not my intention.

Then a sequel it will be!

Not everything needs to be competitively viable, is it nice to have more things work at top tier play? Absolutely. But Freddy could of easily kept his identity while making him decent.
2 -
I am glad you think so.
2 -
Yknow I've always kept that Freddy rework in the back of my mind
I really need to get to re-writing that, as well as my Nemesis rework... and trial rework...
I have way too many drafts that are just on stand by since like August
0 -
Oh, the one you said would surprise me?
0 -
yeah, that one lmao
I was actually proud of it but on a really long session of writing it, I messed up and reloaded the page without saving. And at that time I had thought of something completely new that I liked A LOT more than the previous idea so I scrapped the entire thing to write it again.
That loss of progress just discouraged me from going at it again
0 -
Ooof, I know how that is.
I like to write, and losing your work is EXTREMELY painful and sometimes devastating.
0 -
Absolutely
Its why I now save a draft every few minutes of any big post I write
Al though I don't know why I even bother, they go into Feedback and Suggestions and they barely gain traction. If anything it just makes me sad because my idea will never become a reality lmao.
If you're wondering, I've written a Twins, Myers, Spirit, Trapper, Legion and Trickster rework. All of them having the goal of keeping their identities and playstyles, but adding something to their kit to make them more interesting/viable.
Only one I'm not really proud of is The Spirit one, since I'm actually quite happy with how she is currently. It changed the interaction between the two sides so much that I think it would be better if that power was given to an entire different killer.

Oh, THAT...
I understand better than most.
Have been doing this for over 2 years, and well...he isn't back, is he? :(
I won't give up, obviously, but it does get frustrating when your words fall on deaf ears.

Well, changing Freddy has been on a lot of peoples minds recently. And Freddy is in a pretty sad state at the moment.
Maybe one day, he'll return to his true self. We can only hope

Yes, we can only hope.

i never said he was strong, but he stronger stronger then his old version. unfortunately the recent nerfs hat they did to him kind of made him kind of crap RN. still stronger than og

I'm totally on board of bringing Original Freddy back.
He was a unique killer and I miss his playstyle so much.
2 -
Sure if you want to wait 7 seconds to put someone in sleep and can't attack them until they are in dream state. Only reason why old Freddy was decent killer was his add-ons. Without those, old Freddy would be F tier killer so I'm up to it.

I liked Old Freddy and thought he was actually pretty strong if you played him right, even at high ranks. (Although I wonder how much of it was high-rank survivors being unfamiliar with Freddy, because he's so rare at high ranks. Sorta like the Mark Twain quote, where the best swordsman doesn't fear the second best, but the worst, because they often act extremely unpredictable and can unintentionally catch even the best off-guard. You might be able to 360 Billy's chainsaw. You might know how to mind-game a nurse. You might be familiar common trap locations for Trapper. But how do you deal with a Freddy player who constantly disengages from loops, keeps everyone asleep, and switches targets constantly, harassing all 4 survivors as best as he can (It's not a cakewalk, but since you can see survivors auras you know when to switch targets) to keep them off gens? And then he uses the aura reading to lay a "Trap" using a slugged survivor as the bait?)
OG Freddy had good tracking and good slowdown. His chase was mediocre with that dream transition head start, but if the Freddy player acts unpredictable he can mind-game the dream transition. (And addons can remove the freddy glimpses. If you have the timing down pat you can swing pretty much as they become vulnerable. I loved using Pill Bottle because it's usually a free gen-grab the first time because the survivor doesn't see the Freddy glimpse and thinks you're not in the area, and you grab them right off the gen. Then, on all subsequent sleeps, you can "Sleep N' Run" knowing the survivor will run around like a chicken with their head cut off scared about a Freddy that's not going after them.) In my experience, to use him effectively, I had to juggle targets constantly and never focus on one survivor. Someone wakes up? Abandon chase and re-sleep them. Switch targets constantly, etc.
He had good build variety, too. Since tracking and slowdown is taken care of by Freddy's ability you have plenty of room for experimenting. M&A red paint brush 0 TR Freddy, (I used to burn a thick mist offering. Since Freddy had such good aura reading you could use this build to use the mist and dream fog against survivors, as you can simply walk up using the fog as cover and clobber them.) STBFL PWYF Rancor One-Punch-Freddy. (Ignore the Obsession all game, machine gun everyone else down with STBFL, one-hit-mori the obsession at the end. I used to run this back when Old Mettle Of Man was a thing. Old Freddy's aura wasn't visible if the survivor was awake, meaning the obsession would have NO IDEA you have Rancor until the final gen pops. Talk about a nasty surprise!)
One problem though is Old Freddy was very frustrating to play again, and even downright boring at times. (A good Freddy will juggle targets, do "Sleep N' Run" tactics to put you to sleep while chasing another target, and disengage and reengage from chases constantly, especially once he starts getting looped. He'll just run after someone else while watching your aura in hopes you reach a dead zone and then ambush you.)
I don't think Old Freddy should come back unchanged, but they should make a killer with an ability similar to Classic Freddy, but "Reimagined" in such a way it's less frustrating to play against and more fun for the killer. Aura "Blips" every few seconds instead of constant aura reading, maybe toning down the slowdown, (If OG Freddy stacked slowdown addons, you'd work at like 20% speed while asleep, and as mentioned a good Freddy will try to keep everyone asleep as often as possible) and reworking the "Dream Transition" so it's not just you sitting there while the survivor finishes a gen in your face.

No thanks, gonna have to pass on that one.

I wish Kid's Drawing reverted his kit instead of making your power objectively worse, that'd be dope.
