I still don’t understand how the must universally fun killer is so rare
Spirit is a great killer that is fun for both sides. So why doesn’t anyone play her? Like I said, she’s fun, fair, and has interesting add ons that change up the way she plays. Her kill rate and pick rate has dropped significantly in this most recent killer stats chart which is saddening to see.
I guess I kind of do understand why people don’t play her anymore, it’s because of the nerf that barely impacted anything except the stand still mind game. It’s been 3 months since that nerf hit live and I still am doing fine with her.
I had to post this because I don’t think I’ve seen Spirit as survivor in like a month and that’s not ok.

I almost became a Spirit main, but then I tried Pinhead randomly and I've had more fun than ever in this game (seriously, I could gush about how much fun I've been having for hours. In my mind, he's the perfect killer.)

I mean, I guess Spirit is fun if you want to turn your brain off and put zero thought into your gameplay. At that point though I'd just pick Nemesis or Plague.

Spirit is just kind of eh to me. I've never really wanted to learn her power since she's 110 and these types of Killers generally don't appeal to me.
Personally, I find Pinhead and Blight way more fun.

Huntress is by far more fun to play against, as is Bubba's (the few that don't face camp), and Demogorgons.
If I were making a list of fun killer to versus, Spirit would never even be considered

Are you saying she's the most fun to PLAY or to PLAY AGAINST? Because I can tell you you'd be hard pressed to find anyone who loads into a match, finds out the killer is a Spirit and goes "Well I'm glad this is about to happen"

I know how that is. Prior to leaving the game, both of my favorites were extremely rare.
I mean, Hag is rare by nature, but Freddy was almost never there. I can't even remember my last match against him.

I've been around since Freddy was introduced to DBD so yeah, I remember Prayer Beads, collision while phasing, gen yanking Spirit. Hated every second of those matches lol

You can love her just fine. I just don't think there's an argument to say she's universally the most fun. Like, I'm pretty sure people enjoy Huntress and Demo games more than Spirit but everyone is entitled to their preference

the spirit hate is honestly an outdated meme that people refuse to update.
take it from me, seeing spirit used to make me irrationally angry. like, " I hope this person trips when they get up from their computer and falls on a LEGO" levels of angry.
I WOULD agree with you here, as a fellow Nemesis/Plague/Legion enjoyer, but Iron Will exists and is extremely prevalent so it's hard to zone out with her. DCB can mitigate this, but I find myself needing to pay attention anyways in order to react fast enough to Killer Instinct and make a split second decision in regards to the heartbeat.

I think you answered your own question. A huge portion of Spirit players were overly reliant on the standstill "mindgame".

Here are my stats of the games I played with Spirit so far; please enjoy. She is fun, but I really hate how IW, a totally meta perk, hard counters her kit.

Just for reference per the recent dev chat Spirit's overall pick rate across all matches is 3.43%, which happens to also be exactly the average pick rate of all killers who aren't free with the game (i.e. Huntress, Wraith, Hillbillly, Trapper, Nurse) and also excluding Demogorgon (who isn't for sale any more). So really she's not any more or less popular than average for a killer that you need to unlock with shards or cash. (Technically when you take the weighted average over all the DLC killers other than Demogorgon she's at the 49.9% percentile, so as close to the middle as you can get basically.)

I don't have the best hearing which kinda keeps me from playing spirit since I phase and they're never where I think they are, make it hard to enjoy them.

I liked it.
When I started playing, back in 2018, everything was on sale so I got to face many DLC killers early on, Spirit included. Loved her back then, but I must admit she became a lot less interesting to me after her first nerf.

If I still played the game, I might pick up Spirit.
I feel like not many people play her because she arguably has one of the most unique play styles in the game, and (despite what salty survivors would have you believe), she is actually pretty hard to learn.

No. She is actually braindead to play and anyone with half a brain cell turned on can 4K constantly with her, because she is so OP.

I'm partially deaf in my right ear, so it's quite tricky to be consistent with her for me.
I enjoy her, but I tend to find that I have more fun on Hag, Artist, Demo and honestly Myers these days.
Not sure why.
She has plenty of counterplay, has some decent music and is genuinely scary at times.
The only killers I really dread facing are Bubbas (due to their propensity for camping) and Huntress (just so, so tired of facing her game after game after game).

You both, I like you. Billy is honestly the only killer I think I truly, genuinely love to both play and go against. That being said, I've been really digging playing huntress too these days.

The problem with your argument is she is fun for both sides. Fun is obviously subjective. For me, my hearing isn't the best, so playing as Spirit isn't the most enjoyable experience.
From the survivor side I can't stand her twitching and passive phasing. For some reason it bothers my eyes. Add to that a good portion of the Spirits I faced liked to tunnel everyone and she just was miserable.
All that said, I've seen her once since her nerf. So I can't say if she'd be anymore enjoyable to face now.
