Gun control exists because no one actually wants to help people who are poor, drug addicts, victims of abuse and violence, or recognize mental illness is more complicated than someone feeling 'sad'.
Its a band aid solution to a large problem that no one actually gives a ######### about except when publicly or politically beneficial or if the effects benefit then directly.

Imagine comparing the usage of guns, a large social issue, to the usage of a tool to harass minorities, another large social issue. It's an apt comparison.

This is a good analogy, but not in the way you think.
In both cases, a minority of people are doing something bad. However, rather than looking at the issue in a more nuanced, retail method, people instead go for the easy answer and punish the majority unduly.
In the case of the masks, you've just sent a message to the trolls telling them 'hey, if you abuse something other people like, the devs will remove it'. I think that's the wrong message to send.

The people wielding guns KILL people. The usage of the masks for harassment is ######### but is nothing like people being murdered. Again though, then it's the people that need to be punished and not every case warrants the same exact response. The masks aren't guns. They don't deserve this treatment.

Yeah they think removing it stops the issue but people using the mask for that reason are still gonna be racist POS and will still do the same exact thing with or without the mask. The masks were just another layer only they used like that while the majority just liked it. And those people who thought it was black face was just ridiculous. Sure it was a white character wearing a black persons face but it's not in that type of way. It's what the character does. The character was black so the mask should be black. Makes perfect sense.

Yeah I think it's silly. It sends a message that anyone can use any sort of tool and get it removed.
We should just be banning people who partake in such a thing rather than take away from people who absolutely had nothing to do with it.
Just like we ban people who go out of their way to harass and target people who use pride charms..why can't we ban the people who did the same thing with the masks?

Man the forums have changed alot since I first joined a year ago. It went from people making bait posts, having intellectual conversations, and talking about their favorite things about this game to people getting angry that blackface was removed. Not saying that it isn't completely Bhvr's fault but why are we defending blackface?

If you ban them they can cough up 25 bucks and tunnel a couple claudettes and do it all over again.
If you know the right people not even that. That DbD was free for a while means some people have 1000ths of alternative accounts.
Not to mention that with all the tunneling, camping, "survivor was toxic cause they said gg ez" reports it takes ages to get to the actual ban worthy reports.
Removal sadly was the only option. "Just ban them" is not as easy as it sounds

You say 25 bucks but they gave this game away for free on epic and I know people have used a script to amass 1000s of accounts with just DBD on them, and also the game for steam can be bought for a out 4$ on key reselling websites

"Drag Bubba" is actually an iconic part of the movie, the survivor faces were never in the movie and are not bound by lore like the other outfits he has,
Embarrassing that this community would even make this comparisons.
And to add to this, there is no such thing as "drag face" like there is blackface, it is a literal historically evidenced hate crime that was used to mock black people, and to add even more to this, drag is literally men dressing up in a 'feminine' way and is in no way oppressive or different to what actual drag is.
Read a book, touch some grass, learn some history or something this is appalling.

How does one actively be racist by wearing a face that is apart of the characters history exactly? What can you do in game that shows that you are a racist by wearing Claudettes face? If you come back with 'it's being used as a tool for black face and evident in the end game chat' then so can drag Bubba...

Blackface is an actual thing used to oppress people, you should be glad you don't experience it but it definitely shows you don't understand what you're talking about.
