Chapter Idea: Whispering Stones Part 2 (Killer: The Sculptor)
Hello! I will be posting 1 part of this 3 part series every day. This is so I don't end up flooding the forums with these suggestions.
Part 1. The Monolith [Link]
Part 2. The Killer [This is it]
Part 3. The Survivor and Map [Not posted yet]
IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE MONOLITH IDEA YET, GO SEE THAT! THE PERKS USE IT.
"As I wandered through the darkness, I saw several strange statues. Moving among them, they seemed to be built intelligently with a strange glow to them. As soon as I set my sights on a generator, the statues around me began to pulse. In terror I ran, and the only thing I saw when I looked back was one of the statues staring at me." - Unknown
James Scul was always a charming man. When he was young, he always looked to artworks and crafting. Eventually, he settled on an idea that incorporated both: Statue Making. Learning from a relatively young age, he quickly grew into one of the top statue makers. Eventually, some people took notice, and began offering to buy his statues.
As time went on, he grew tired of making statues every day. He wanted a new challenge, and that's when he found a strange book among his supplies one morning. Inside the book contained the strange schematics for a haunting giant of a statue, with spider limbs and a strange air around it. Without thinking or realizing, he got to work on it. Shutting himself inside, he worked day in and day out. Eventually, the strange statue was complete, and he set his eyes on it for the first real time.
He recoiled with fear, but couldn't bring himself to break his creation. As he began to rest from his long work days, he began to see shadows out of his eyes. There was strange foot steps on his roof, and knocks on the floors below. He made his masterful statues in an attempt to block out the darkness wanting inside of his home, but it was to no avail. Under the unknowing guidance of the Entity, he invited several of his most loyal of fans into his home.
A few days later, a cop enters the building. Every single visitor has been forced into having stone formed around them, trapping them inside and killing them. Blood was on the floor, and a statue of the Sculptor was kneeling before a haunting statue.
Sculptor
Appearance: A large, trapper-sized man. Has clay all over him, making him look statue-like in appearance. He wields a heavy hammer and ruined clothes fit for an artist, blended into him with clay.
Summary: The Sculptor creates statues which empower him, and he both guards and hides among them. His appearance is stuffed with clay, making him look exactly like one of his statues. Especially when he stands still.
What are his stats?: The Sculptor moves at 112% speed, and has no lunge like T1 Myers. He has a 32 meter terror radius like the Trapper. He is the size of the Trapper.
What does he do?: The Sculptor can create statues at a cool down of 32 seconds. It takes 8 seconds to create a statue. Statues cannot be placed within 8 meters of each other. For every unbroken statue in the trial, the Sculptor gains +1% movement speed and +33% of the lunge range of a normal killer. The killer has no movement speed max, but their lunge range is capped at 150% of the normal lunge range. The Sculptor can move through statues, but survivors cannot. Statues take 12 seconds for survivors to break.
Can he do anything else?: Yes! The Sculptor, when standing still for 2 or more seconds, loses their red stain and has their terror radius lowered to 4 meters. Every single statue in the entire game gets a terror radius of 4 meters as well during this time. This effectively makes the Sculptor look just like any of his statues. If a survivor attempts to perform the Break Statue action on the Sculptor, the Sculptor gets a free hit and the chase starts.
Add-Ons: No killer is complete without add-ons! I'll only be doing the Pink ones.
Iridescent Paint: Statues lower exit gate opening speed by 15%. Every statue also gives the killer an additional 1% movement speed, 25% lunge range, and 5 meters of terror radius after the exit gates are powered. No more statues can be created once the exit gates are powered. "This strange goo seems to be made from the Entity itself, and can cause a panic when applied in heavy doses. This includes if it's sensed, making it a dangerous tool for decoration." - Vigo's Journal
Iridescent Material: Statues take 4 seconds longer to break. When a survivor begins breaking a statue, the killer is warned similar to how Thrill of the Hunt warns the killer. The cool down between statues is 18 seconds longer. "This maddening material reacts violently to attempts to break it. However, molding it into a statue is harder due to its insanity causing nature, forcing even the most violent to take breaks between using it."
Bone Chisel: Statues take only 1 second to build. This trumps all other add-ons that affect building speed. The killer moves at 100% speed instead of normal speed for 7 seconds after building a statue. "A dark chisel, taking the life force of its user to create masterful pieces."
Entity's Photo: Statues have half as long of a cool down. Statues now emit a beam of light to the sky, similar to a survivor using that map offering. This broadcasts statue locations. "A picture of the statue that the Sculptor was tricked into building, wielding terrible in sanity upon its holder."
Perks:
Dark Arts: 1/2/3 more totems spawn at the start of a trial. (This is useful with the Monolith, go read it if you haven't already.) "The beast in the shadows seems to build with unending dedication to that it serves."
Hex: Devotion: (This REQUIRES The Monolith, so go read that!) 3/4/5 hooks light up like event hooks. When a survivor is hooked on these for the first time, Hex: Devotion produces a token. Breaking Hex: Devotion does not remove tokens, but does stop the killer from generating more.
At X totems, Hex: Devotion does...
Whenever someone starts cleansing a DULL totem or the MONOLITH, get a noise bubble there. (Like an inverse Thrill of the Hunt.) This is only disabled when the Monolith is broken.
Progress on the Monolith is constantly regressing, like a kicked generator, whenever no one is working on it. This is only disabled when Hex: Devotion is broken.
The Monolith, instead of lowering Repair Speed, now lowers Action Speed. This includes actions such as Vaulting, Healing, Cleansing, and pretty much every other action in the game. This is only disabled when the Monolith is broken.
All survivors are now exposed. This is only disabled when the Monolith is broken.
The killer can now kill the survivors by their own hand (mori). This is only disabled when the Monolith is destroyed.
Hex: Masterpiece: As long as this totem is up, the killer gains 2/3/4% movement speed and 5/10/15% action speed, including things like vaulting and breaking pallets. (This is revealed to the survivors after the first down.)
Closing Thoughts
I'd like to thank several people for helping me balance this out, in particular s:
KillShot for the Statue Mode the Sculptor has, along with several balance changes in it.
Pizza Dwight for suggesting there be a range of 8 meters between statues.
I will be posting the Survivor, their perks, and the map at some point soon. Stay tuned, and until then: Give Feedback and check out my Monolith Idea if you can.
