A hypothetical scenario
Lets hypothetically say survivors brought me to rpd and i was pig, and they were doing the boil over cheese, and one of them happened to trap themselves up there because my controller magically died and they had an active hat on, which kills them
Would i be punished for my controller acting up?

You never know with Behavior. Survivors refusing to do gens is the killer taking the game hostage... So... It is hard to tell. I would risk it though. They have more important things to do such as giving me the 6k shards I am owed. I was going to make a Twitch shirt joke, but I thought better of it.

They're gonna die eventually so technically it's not holding the game hostage since they can leave the game without DCing so I wouldn't think so.

No, just because there's a timer before they're forced to leave the match

Holding someone there to kill them isn't holding the game hostage.
If you did it when they had no hat, and the hatch spawned and the gates weren't opened and you stood there blocking them so there there was no possible way for them to get out except to DC, that would be when it's holding the game hostage.

Did you not have a charger?
