FAIR PLAY
What is playing fair? Not tunneling? Camping, slugging? There's no such thing. Playing fair is actually playing "scummy" I guess. I mean, the game does favor survivors a alot and expecting a killer to play "fair" is just stupid. I'm putting myself at a massive disadvantage just by not tunneling or camping which is unfair because survivors do gens hella fast and abuse meta perks. Survivors do not play "fair" so that killers can have fun. Survivors do not care about killer fun and they just use meta perks to clap any killer. A killer who doesn't tunnel or camp is actually playing unfair because why should they care about survivor fun when killer fun doesn't even exist or get mentioned?

If you’re playing to win and doing things in the game, you’re not “playing unfair.” Things in the game may be unfair but that doesn’t mean you’re playing unfair if you’re doing them.

I would say playing fair simply means understanding that you are playing against human beings who are simply trying to have fun and that certain playstyles pretty much destroy any sense of fun for the other side.
That's all. It just means having a modicum of empathy, which is is a bit of a challenge for some people.

Aye. Being camped / tunnelled sucks but the killer ain’t doing anything wrong, just as survivors ain’t doing anything wrong by being efficient on gens.

In an asym, It's easier to define "fun" than it is to define "fair", but just because something isn't fun doesn't mean it's not fair.

It's important to know what makes a game enjoyable for all players. If you had a tabletop game and just played like a complete hardass every time you got your friends together, eventually they wouldn't want to play with you. The same thing goes here, if players make the game unenjoyable all the time, other players will leave. You won't notice it right away, but through attrition you eventually won't have anyone to play with.

Some fools reported me for 4King at 5 gens.
Some fools reported me for punishing their (failed) taunts by body-blocking them so they couldn't escape and die by the EGC.
Fools are fools, don't bother reasoning with them.
Today, if I was forced to play DbD as killer (I'm not : I wouldn't even play survivor but who knows? With a loaded gun pointed to me I could be persuaded ... maybe) I would simply get my first catch with Bubba and either slug and wait for a bleed-out or incoming survivor helper with the chainsaw or hook and wait with the saw. Minimal effort and, apparently, maximum skill.

I think this is the biggest lesson the developers need to learn quickly. There are some tactics aka facecamping and tunneling-off-hook in certain situations aka not having DS and BT, that make the game completely unplayable and unenjoyable for that survivor.
I can't even imagine the number of DBD players that were lost because the first time they played they got facecamped or tunneled-off-hook while only having 1 perk.
It's one thing to go against a tactic that is hard to counter and there's a totally different thing to go against an uncounterable tactic in the game.

Most changes to prevent tunneling and facecamping can and will be abused by survivors. That's why changes don't happen.
The only change that would actually work is to get rid of the entire hook system and go to standard off map time outs.
It also does nothing to fix the problem of brand new killers being paired with teams of survivors with 500+ hours each.
Losing to a bunch of people with meta perks when you have your only tier 1 perk over and over is going to breed some resentment. You can sit and be upset about how unfun your 5 minute game was. It's better than being stuck in a 15+ minute game with four ######### who won't finish the last gen because they wanna fast vault on the edges of the map then sneak away over and over, and you barely know what yoyr doing. You just know leaving gets punished.

I am disappointed. I thought this thread was going to be about adding Mr. Terrific as a survivor.

BT and DS have a proven track record at this point. Plus survivors feel as if they have to have them in their perk loadout because, otherwise, there's no counter. I think baked in BT and DS-lite (Only can be used on 2nd hook and not during EGC), would help. That would allow for BT and DS to still be viable perks and then all survivors have something to counter 2 uncounterable-except-for-DS-and-BT tactics.

Personally I consider playing fair, playing in a way that lets the opponents have a chance. Facecamping and tunneling have their place and aren't always unfair, but getting a down right at the start and then doing everything you can to get them out of the game ASAP is pretty awful. Likewise, abusing stuff like the boil over buff and CoH bodyblock trade squads are just as bad. The biggest problem is that people refuse to be the better person, and instead play rude as hell and use the opposite possibility as justification.

Bt is used to body block. I've said this to you before. Everytime we've argued about this. You then say remove collusion from them. I say at that point just remove hooks and make a time out so at least it's consistent and survivors aren't rewarded for Naruto running at the hook.
Double ds is just as bad. All it will lead to is more slugging, something survivors claim to hate yet keep demanding changes that make it more appealing.
Once again. The only way to end those two problems would be to remove hooks entirely, and just have a system of time outs. Otherwise it will not actually fix any problems, just what you complain about.

IRL if you play like an ######### people would hate it and want to not to play with you. The fact that this game is online doesn't mean you're not playing with people, behind the character there is still a person that is trying to have fun, especially considering this is generally not a competitive game. If you can't understand that some things might ruin the experience for someone, then I feel maybe you shouldn't playing with other people but stick to PvE games.

Tell that to survivors. They do not care about killers fun and will just tell you to get good, rush gens and escape with their meta perks. Until then, it's not my responsibility for survivors to have fun, just learn how to loop and avoid tunneling or camping
