Werewolf Killer Concept: The Lycanthrope

Killer: The Lycanthrope

Movespeed: 110%

Weapon: Claws / Jaws

Lore: All creatures feel emotions, and while the entity primarily feeds on the strongest emotions of humans, that wasn’t always the case. Before humanity began developing, one of the entity’s earliest attempts of control relied on the now extinct dire wolf. To the entity, it wasn’t exceedingly hard to manipulate and tame a mere beast for its own purposes, but as humanity began to flourish thousands of years later, the entity saw an opportunity to improve its loyal hunter. In the ancient lands of Greece, the entity was easily able to pluck away a powerful king of Arcadia who was tempted by the promise of power. While the entity had almost absolute power over its realm, it had difficulties in organic life itself. For hundreds of years while countless trials went by, the entity was always attempting to create a perfect hunter by merging the two beings. Bestowed with the shattered minds of a crazed man and a bloodthirsty dire wolf, the entity deemed the project a failure, a creature that refused to listen to the entity at all. Chaining the newly formed Lycanthrope away in the depths of the entity’s realm, it stirred for ages undisturbed. As time grew, a sliver of the entity that was planted inside the Lycanthrope to help mold it made the beast grow stronger and stronger, feasting off the remains of food the entity was collecting for itself. With enough power, the Lycanthrope was able to break free from its bonds, seeking to destroy any who opposed them, including the entity itself.

Appearance: The Lycanthrope is a mutated hybrid of ancient wolf and man. While it has an appearance similar to the basic idea of a werewolf, the Lycanthrope is a much cruder and mutated existence. In addition, broken shackles of the entity cover its body and spider-like tendrils protrude from its ribs.

New Status Effect: Feared - The survivor becomes frantic and afraid as it becomes hard to concentrate. Items are unable to be used while Feared. For any action that does not require skill checks (sabotaging hooks, opening a chest, etc) skill checks will occur. Succeeding in the skill check doesn’t boost any progress in the action, but failing it will slow progress. All actions that already require skill checks (generators, healing, etc) will have their success zones of the skill checks reduced as well as the effects of succeeding the skill check slightly diminished.

Power: The Beast’s Realm

Being a force that opposes the entity itself, the Lycanthrope isn’t thrilled to be back in the trials. At the start of the match, the Lycanthrope infects the entity’s realm. A small timer symbol appears at the top of every player’s hud that starts out as a sun and moves down to a moon. If you are on an outside map, it gradually becomes darker until night, and all indoor maps have their lights become dimmer. Once it reaches the moon symbol, the Lycanthrope transitions into its Unleashed form and gains control over the entity’s realm for a short duration. All crows will disappear, and all hooks will become dismantled during this time. While Unleashed, the Lycanthrope grows in size slightly as the entity’s bonds around them break off. In this form, the Lycanthrope moves at 125% movespeed, stabbing the ground with its own tendrils as it runs on all fours and vaults quicker. The terror radius is doubled during this time. When they become Unleashed, the Lycanthrope lets out a map-wide howl, inflicting all the survivors with the Feared status effect for 10 seconds. In this mode, lunge range is also increased and the Lycanthrope attacks with their jaws instead of their claws, biting at the survivors. The Lycanthrope will stay in its Unleashed form for the entirety of the Beast’s Realm night, which lasts for 2.5 minutes. At the end of the night, the timer switches to the sun again as the map brightens. It takes 6.5 minutes for the timer to reach the moon from the sun position. If it is night time when all 5 generators have been completed or if it becomes night time after, it will become the Final Night for the remainder of the match and the Lycanthrope will create their own clawed hooks in place of the entity’s hooks. If any survivor has already reached their final hook state, they can automatically be killed by the Lycanthrope during the Final Night while down.

Special Ability: Vengeful Howl

Using Vengeful Howl during the day will cause the Lycanthrope to release a howl around themselves, inflicting all survivors within their terror radius with the Feared and Oblivious status effects. If used during the day, this ability has a 60 cooldown and lasts on survivors for 20 seconds. If Vengeful Howl is used while the Lycanthrope is Unleashed at night, it reaches a range of double the terror radius while afflicting survivors with Feared and Oblivious for 30 seconds and the Lycanthrope’s own tendrils are sent into the ground, blocking every single generator not currently being worked on for 40 seconds. If used when Unleashed, it will remain on cooldown for the rest of the night duration and will be available again come morning.

Perks:

Hex: Left For Food: While this hex is active, dying survivors recover 80% / 90% / 100% slower.

Chained and Bound: If you attack a hooked survivor, they will become chained to the hook. The longer they stay chained, the longer it takes survivors to unhook them. While chained, their hook timer progresses twice as slow. Has a cooldown of 60 / 50 / 40 seconds.

Mutated Body: Any time you become stunned from a survivor through any means, you gain a 2% / 3% / 4% haste movement speed buff for 5 / 6 / 7 seconds.
