Is dbd a horror game???
I know what you are going to say. the game is supposed to be fun as well right? yeah i agree but i still feel as if the game is less fun because of its lack of horror vibe. its stuff as simple as in-game music and noises down to graphics and cosmetics. dbd today feels funsy to me. also the gameplay feels completely survivor sided with the strength of some of their perks... maybe it isnt so bad but it seems as if most of the competition comes from survivors and i think it should be an experience first and foremost for survivors and maybe competitive for killers???? it was fun to experience the game as a survivor for a long time when i first started playing and as a fan of horror i have a great time trying to keep that experience alive for survivors as a killer main... idk it might just be an mmr and dead hard issue

I know people who are scared to play dbd because of the public reputation and they think it's a horror game, so I would say the game has accomplished being a horror game.

DBD is a horror game.
However... when you play something a thousand times, why would you be scared anymore?

It’s more a horror themed game imo. But any game you play multiple times will get less scary

its definitely a horror themed game.
but i would not call it a horror game per se - horror games focus a lot on atmosphere and trying to scare the player, DbD is a lot more focussed on action and brutality.

It's absolutely INTENDED to be, but it's not really once you play a decent amount.
Although, playing survivor against Ghostface genuinely scares me at times.

Ofcourse not after 100+ hours but no game is going to be scary after that amount of time

A full SWF squad with meta perks and flashlights can be pretty scary...

Not really lol. This a game where you drop a wooden pallet and that stops a big monster like nemesis. I don't see how that can be a horror game lol. The only way this game could become horror theme is if all the killers could insta-down.

It is when you go to a locker to reload and find a wild survivor in it.

It is a horror game in the beginning, when you start to play but over time, all the "this is ######### bull ##########" moments are the things making it not be scary anymore - and there's plenty of those in this game.

yes but overtime its more akin to Scooby Doo than Halloween in a lot of scenarios.
