Importance of game map brightness
As an old user who has been playing the game as soon as Dead by Daylight was first released on Steam, I would like to say a word to the game developer.
It has developed into a great game with many DLC and many system changes.
So nice to see.
However, the new map being released in stages and the overall atmosphere of the game are so bright that there is an advantage in terms of view when playing the game, but the feeling of fear is very low because it is so bright.
In the old Macmillan map, when the character Claudette was sitting in a corner
The killer in first person mode misses the time when he failed to pursue him.
Isn't this a horror movie?
Some players are not officially allowed through third-party programs.
I also brightened the game by raising the gamma value.
This is optional and we want the map to be darker to match the horror atmosphere. The new map of the last released DLC is too bright.
Even if you use the fog offering to reduce visibility, you can't create this atmosphere, and the moonlight darkening offering that was previously used has also been patched to not be used. We should feel the horror of the thrilling chase when it's more stimulating and dark and the killer chases after me.
is this a comedy? Is it horror?
The developer brightened the brightness of the map for ease of use.
We gave up creating the atmosphere of horror when it was first released.
In order to make the game last for a long time, please do not lose the aspiration and original intention of releasing this game for the first time.

The Moon offerings were removed because the dimming ones were legitimately busted + the devs wanted specific better control of the lighting.

I miss the dark game. And the fog. Is any map really dark anymore?

Autohaven's still pretty dark. Midwich is dark too, but it's mostly an indoor map.
The rest, eh. And Ormond, Coldwind, and Eyrie desperately need the lights turned down. Just straight up middle of the day lighting. Not only is it awful for atmosphere, it's crap for game balance because several things were designed on the basis that maps would have low lighting as a default and get screwed over every time they load into the increasing spread of maps that don't apply. Have fun being a Ghostface, a Trapper, or a Blendette with Lucky Break on Eyrie of Crows.

I just miss the old Coldwind Maps with extra Fog.

Yeah, I miss how dark the game used to be. It made it legitimately scary paired with the heavy fog. Too bad we'll never see that again. 🙁
