So how come the game devs are biased like every other year?

Like it kinda seems like one year they only listen and gives good buffs to killers and then negative buffs to survivors and vice versa. It’s like they only pay attention to the things we say and ask about only if it benefits them when they’re playing. The match making system is #########. The most recent buff the dead man’s switch is bad too. Demi’s build with it is absolutely ruff for the survivors. I know the game devs try to appeal to everyone. But after constantly being ignored as a community, and only seeing updates and buffs when it only seems to benefit them, (the game devs I mean). It’s gets ######### annoying. I would like to think they listen to us. But when ppl ask for, (example), the hit box distance to be fixed but get better boob jiggle physics it’s like. So back to my original question. Are the game devs biased? And please only non-biased answers. Thanks.

only trying to answer the stuff you were directly talking about here, because frankly I don’t have a clue what you mean when saying things like the devs are biased or they only make changes that benefit them(????):

matchmaking: in the latest Q&A they kinda confirmed it’s not working as great, because it prioritizes quicker queue times over fitting rates etc. they also talked about some adjustments in the dev update. Don’t forget that matchmaking was also VERY poor before SBMM and actually more complained about than it is now.

Dead Man’s Switch: honestly? I don’t know. Haven’t seen it used yet and didn’t try it..

constantly being ignored as a community: that is wrong. There were so many changes that came directly from community complaints/suggestions/etc. Some examples: Mori, key, hatch changes, OoO and DS nerfs, Spirit nerf (which was actually pretty good and brought her to a good spot now), Nurse bugs getting finally looked at, Deathslinger changes (might have been overdone, but was still OFTEN complained about), Colorblind mode and other accessibility features, and many more.

Hitbox: could you elaborate more what you mean here? If it’s about Huntress hatchets, they have often explained it: it’s mainly a lag issue. They tried more realistic hitboxes but that didn’t give better results. Also survivors all have the same hitbox which is something they don’t want to change for obvious reasons.

Jiggle physics: well, there are MANY people in the community happy about stuff like that.

If you ask me, it's got nothing to really do with any inherent bias - rather the developers have to be careful and toe a certain line when it comes to the survivors/killers roles and what changes they make. At the moment the only fundemental change we've been told about is some kind of 'anti-camping mechanism' and something to improve the lives of solo-q survivors.

Many years ago, Not Queen once said she doesn't see the game as survivor mains and killer mains and in a perfect world we'd all agree but unfortunately that's not how the playerbase itself sees things.

The fact that you can have people who call the devs survivor bias and the ones who call them killer bias demonstrates this imo.

It applies to new content as well:

Survivor players complain that their gameplay has gotten stale/boring/etc, so we get boons

Killer players complain that they get looped and feel powerless, we get killers who by design are 'anti-loop' (Pyramid Head, Pinhead, Nemesis, Artist and so on)

Generally people complain about perk variety (same 4 perks every game and such), so we get a mixed bag of perks that are either really well designed (Pain resonance e.g), power crept versions of older perks (Starstruck is literally mad grit 2) or filler perks (Like Hoarder or Clairvoyance)

The perk variety problem has improved though, which I'm happy about.

For the game devs portion. I meant to put biased but it probably auto-corrected to bi. At least I think that’s what you’re pointing out there.

and by the hitbox distance I mean like getting hit by a Billy’s M1 from all the way across a pallet. Or bubba insane reach sometimes lol.

but I do appreciate you taking the time to update me on those things. A few of those I didn’t realize had been patched.

And I know they enjoy the jiggle physics, but when things like ds needed that buff. I woulda picked the buff over jiggle personally.

Yeah I think those hitbox issues may still be just lag issues or bugs.

as to priorities on what gets changed: juggle physics don’t really need the same amount of resources to get adjusted compared to a perk like DS. It wasn’t a matter of either jiggle or DS, but probably more jiggle or another engine/physics change like those glitching hair bugs or clipping cosmetics etc.

DS change needed game designers to make concepts and then implement the changes, then play test those changes and gather feedback from the testers and analyze the results both from the testers personally and from statistics from those test runs. It’s just a way more complicated process. It’s somewhat different if they just make number changes on perks, which are easier..
