Last/first hook

SO heres the story. Played against a myers and my survivor team had completed the gens and opened the door. two of my teammates left early. Another teammate was put onto hook. Here comes me (hasnt been hooked yet) to save him off the hook. And of course myers comes back to hook and insta downs me with his power. The teammate that I rescued leaves through the exit gate. So then I get hooked for the first time. My question is - how come I don't get to use my 3 chances to escape?? Why do I get sent straight into second hook state? I was running DS so I would have had an opportunity to escape myself. :/

    Because people used it to BM/extend the game out for no reason. Even if you could unhook, it’s only a waste of time. Killer has literally nowhere else to go. They down you and count to 60 and rehook you.
