Bubba and BBQ & Chili

The fact that a killer that is extremely good at facecamping came with a perk that wants you to not fave camp made me realize that the devs knew how effective he was and add bbq to say please don't face camp well give you extra BP and even shoe you where other survivors are.

I don't think it worked though.

I swear Bubba came out during the period of "Face camping is a valid strategy" and not the current period of "So anyway we don't like face camping"

Bubba was released during a time when no one wanted to play killer due to WGLF. Which gave a 200% bloodpoint bonus. So everyone tried to play survivor and farm their teammates. He was kinda rushed out, since most of his addons were identical to Billys.

I'm not sure I cam in before spirit. I just think it's funny the face camping killer has the most anti face camping perk.

I heard they got the Freddy license like right after they got bubba's and they put more into freddy(weakest killer to ever be made) and bubba became a Billy variant.

The good news is that Bubba became a good Killer after another rework and now plays quit different from Hillbilly. It is always sad when you see a camping Bubba because that character has some pretty sweet moves and interesting counterplay as well...moon-chainsawing Bubba and survivors who take risks to run the loop thigh as hell with Bubba trying to adjust it...honestly, I like playing against a good Bubba.

There are just so few because most people just abuse his facecamping abilities.

The sad thing with Freddy is that they took away his interesting abilities and replaced them with a grey filtered boredom while Bubba later became a fine Killer. Kinda ironic...

BBQ was supposed to be the anti-camping Perk since it mimic'd WGLF's Bloodpoints, but also gave Killers an aura read for performing a hook. It worked out pretty well too in the beginning from what I can remember. Camping became less of a common strat, and more of an outlier.

Of course this was all in Billy's and the Nurse's prime. When a skilled Billy player could hook someone across the map, rev and zoom, and navigate the entire length of it to drop you with a saw to the face almost before BBQ's read wore off. Hehe. Good times, good times.

It encourages me to camp when BBQ and Chill doesn't show me where the bae is at. Hide in a locker and I kick it with the side chick on hook. That simple.

I still do a similar thing with Oni. Hook, rage-mode on, rush and bonk. Wish I could still do it with Billy too however I am either not good enough with him (most likely) or maps just became that much harder to navigate through.

For me BBQ just like Hex: Devour Hope are still anti-camping perks and I enjoy both of them. Wish they would bring in more perks like that again.

It worked well back then, because the aura reading wasn´t nerfed and because survivors didn´t know how to block it.

Now everyone and their cap jumps into a locker, wich kinda defeats its purpose.

They should have never reworked Freddy, but gave him just some QoL changes instead. The Original Freddy was so much more fun.

Nah, BBQ as an incentive to not camp does not work. Because Killers (not only Bubba) can still get stacks even if they camp.

The idea is nice, but the real picture is different.

Bbq is still working as intended.

Just the game around it changed. Getting a boost for playing "nice" doesnt matter if playing "nice" isnt rewarding enough at the base.

But that 7 second wait to do anything was a killer. But he was interesting compared to current Freddy

It was still ok. What they should have done was giving him the ability to interact with survivors that are performing an action. So he doesn´t just stands there and watches how a totem or gens gets finished. Or how a downed survivor gets healed without him being able to do anything.
