Dead By Daylight isn't Hockey

I don't understand how a game like Hockey is comparable to Dead By Daylight since they both play so differently. Hockey is a game with an even number of players on both sides with an arena that is always the same and a clear goal for both teams to achieve. Dead By Daylight is a game with 1 killer and 4 survivors with different goals and objectives to complete. How is that the same as Hockey devs? Please just remove MMR it doesn't belong in a game with so much RNG and what if's in it's matches.

I'm Canadian as well and yeah I agree comparing this game to Hockey was one of the dumbest things I've heard. You can't compare SBMM/DBD to a sport. Even when they said hooks, being very good as killer, and being a good survivor that helps the team and knows how to loop doesn't work for MMR cause it's not "winning" but, 2 kills 2 escapes is? It's not as nobody "won" that game that's a draw not a win for either side. So what is it BHVR what's the real winning conditions if you have any? Evidence has shown over and over again since MMR was a thing it doesn't work.

Agree. You can't simplify win or lose in DBD with just kills. Either they should have tweaked their emblem system a bit and still use ranks for matchmaking, or they should have implemented more value to SBMM.

Since day one, they kept telling that win or lose vary on too much, and we shouldn't downgrade it just to escape or getting 4k. And than go ahead and said something like "If you died, did you really played well in the first place".

Yes Dbd can be competitive, due to its multiplayer nature. But it is not a competitive game. It shouldn't define by a competitive MMR system. Randomization was what made Dbd exciting. You never knew what will the next match gonna be, and that was great. Now after I destroy a group of newbies and 4k in a row, I know I am gonna face some SWAT team. This predictability on your next games pretty much sucks the fun out of everything. Playing killer is high concentration sweat fest all the time. Solo Q is miserable as ever.

When you change something you expect it to be improved. But nothing improved after SBMM system, on the contrary the experience got stale and boring. They need to address this problem immediately imo.

What are you talking about? You do know DBD is the most popular hockey video game, outselling almost every other sports game, truly a king of the hockey video game genre!

That summed it up way better then I did. But if they seriously can't understand this then nothing is going to get better regardless of whatever content they shove at us.

I agree, DBD doesn't even have the most famous killer that wears a hockey mask. So why the hell are people comparing it to hockey?

You know, I thought the analogy was clumsy too, but it's pretty blatantly disingenuous to pretend that the comparison being drawn was a direct, literal one.

It was about stat tracking, not about how the games actually play.

You know what would make DBD Hockey? A killer with a hockey mask! Jason Vorhees! A clue perhaps?

    Straws? Grasping?

Sure, but this analogy was picked apart before the stream was even over. By many people in many different ways.

    It was a shoddy analogy.

While I do agree with you here, I don't that last sentence is accurate.

That is definitely not the reason why transparency is unheard of around here. Someone who works in an area that heavily relies on other people's feedback must be able to handle things such as "word twisting".

That is just how it is.

Hockey stick needs to be a survivor accessory, so we can all beat the killer dead horse with it.

Eh true, i shouldn't have wrote that last part. I need to learn to wait a couple of seconds and rereading before posting stuff

Just get very annoyed by how often this happens. I 100% agree that they have dropped the ball more often then once and definitely deserve a lot of the critisme but a lot of people are taking it a bit to far.
